This was the EXACT video I was looking for! Thanks for making it :)
No problem! 😁
@DanielsTechStudio hey man what adapter did u use to connect it to your ps5?? Mahalo!
I found on that works :) loving it on my PS5. It got me to do my first product review on my channel lol @@DanielsTechStudio
the new version of these that just came out can connect directly to a controller, this hopefully will fix the mic issue
I bought this speakes because of your great review! Im waiting for them next week! Thank you for a great video! :)
No problem! 😁
Just got mine yesterday (at Best Buy for 200) since I was splurging I grabbed a new Sony tv too .Until that tv comes what's the first video I watched with them on just hooked up to my old laptop ? YOURS lol .No joke these are a game changer ,I was able to watch this vid with crisp audio and still notice that UPS guy rang the bell ,just wow can't wait for the gaming part .
New to this channel and definitely liking it so far .Keep it up man .
Appreciate the kind words and I'm honored that you decided to watch my video first lol Thank you! 😁 I'm glad you like it, I love mine. Let me know how you like it with gaming!
First of all thanks for making this video, i was literally checking out ur channel every day for the gaming review of this neckband speaker and secondly the video is 🔥....I can't say enough but ur channel is underrated and surely u will rise high with great quality content
Appreciate your patience and the kind words my friend. Thank you 🙏
@@DanielsTechStudio hi daniel
If I don't have a sony TV, dose it work well with a laptop or smart phone in terms of the surrounding sound?
Thank you for answering.
It should be plenty of surround sound, depending on what you're watching/listening to.
Love my neckband from Sony! I’ll be getting the new generation ‘Bravia U’ when it releases
Your review sold me on getting these. They apparently can play dolby atmos with 3d sound through apps like amazon music through your phone which is cool. I never had an oled tv before but i gues its the perfect reason to get a sony bravia xr tv with these. Maybe down the line you can make a tv review for a 2022 tv buying guide for ps5 gamers.
Good for you the my theory , nice and humble ,Thanks!
Awesome review
Thank you! 😁
Don’t know if this was mentioned before but you can easily use these headphones with a PS5 by using an HDMI audio extractor which spits the hdmi into 2/5.1 channels via 3.5mm, RCA or optical (good ones also have passthru options). Go optical from extractor to headphone “receiver/transmitter” and you’re golden
Is it worth it though ?
Great job man ! keep it up !
Dolby Atmos works with you non-Sony TV ? Just got a LG C1, would like to be sure it would work with it
Thank you! For my non-sony tv, I had to put it on PCM in order for me to hear any sound at all, and the Dolby Atmos didn't work for me. This was months ago so I'm not totally sure off the top of my head.
Supposedly Atmos only works with XR TV’s which is annoying
Would love to see some reviews using this with a PC - I have mine connected (no Bluetooth issues like you had with the PS5) and The "Dolby Atmos for Headphones" app recognises and works with them. Not sure its going to work as well using that as it would with a set of headphones but it sounds decent. And yes, playing a horror game (Phasmophobia in this case) was pretty scary...
You connect it thru pc bluetooth or did you use the dongle?
@@sandrisiswanto2552 For PC gaming I Bluetooth it directly to the PC - that way Atmos for Headphones picks it up. the only issue I found is a common one for BT headphones - the headset profile kicks in and causes audio to become very low quality. You basically have to disable that after which it reliable and sounds great.
@@Nuuki9possible to use the mic w/ discord?
@@AF63RS I'm not an expert on this, but I think that if you enable the "headset" profile (for the mic) then your sound output will sound terrible. I believe this is a limitation of Bluetooth - wireless gaming headsets typically have a 2.4G dongle to provide more bandwidth. If you have good quality mic and speaker output then be very interested to hear about that!
Hello brother. What are the differences with Monster Boomerang? I have the Monster Boomerang and is Sony worth it?
Hi, great reviews you got here, I just bought this, waiting for its arrival.
I have some question though. Is it still sound incredible if I don't have a Sony XR tv?
Thank you for the kind words 😁 and yes, the sound is indeed incredible without the Sony XR tv
Hey, Daniel! I've been thinking a lot to get these. After one year of using them, would you say it's still a no brainer? I live as well in a appartment where volume complaints are usual.
Most definitely yes it is a no brainier even a year later. I still use mines all the time with no issues
For avid Sony product users.
The puck/dongle does connect to other Bluetooth units.
I successfully connected the wla-Ns7 to my Wh-1000XM2, the wh-1000XM3 and the Wf-1000xm4.
One unit can be connected at the time.
If you want to connect more than 2 headphones i suggest you to buy a Avanteee Orbit so you get 2 Aptx LL headphones and as the orbit can stream the sound out to the Spdif out while streaming to 2 separate headphones, you can connect the Ns7 in the out from the Avanteee Orbit, or any of the other former mentioned headphones.
If 3d sound is used then all will get 3d sound
Again this is a niche product but if you need it it's as Daniel already said, life changing.
Update,
If you want to play with the Ns7 with Tempest 3D audio support you only need to buy a usb C to SPDIF converter cable, those are cheap and work perfectly with PS5, I bought one from Amazon and it just works. So if you thought gaming was great with them in Stereo prepare to be mind blown on games that support 3D Tempest Audio. Make sure your settings are correct in the PS5 audio settings as well as make sure the game you are playing supports 3D Audio natively and the in game settings are set to 3 D audio.
@@Justmeandmy20cents Okay but the thing is I have the a Bravia TV, it has the 3D support, does that transfer the Tempest produced from the PS5 to the TV? Or you'd still recommend to directly plug the NS7 to the PS5?
I am using the 3D made from the TV, tho in the settings of the PS5, activating 3D audio through speakers doesn't seem to do anything THAT different other than making it really loud.
Guru, will 5.1 be transmitted from Sony TV to the headphones? If yes, how do you connect?
compare this with the Sony NB 10. Half the price but how does it fare? Also can you clarify about the NS7, you said you watched the matrix and its awesome but what about the bass for the NS7? And how does that compare with the bass of the NB 10?
Can 2 people watch TV using these? So you both get your own sound? Or is there too much leakage to make this possible?
Thanks a lot!
Amy review of this speakers with LG C1 or maybe tv of other brands ? I'm planning to get one but afraid it doesn't work that well
Great video. For online gaming you can use the PS5 controller as your mic. Not the best sound tho but hey it works 😄
I always forget you can do that! 😂
How the heck do I do that?! People can't here me when I stream on twitch from my ps5 😩
Did you try an external mic together with this? I am wondering if you will produce a lot of ingame noise considering they are a sort of speakers. Let me know your thoughts. Cheers
I have not tried it yet. Unfortunately I haven't had a lot of time to play video games lately, especially online. I imagine it would make some noise and there is potential for echo and feedback. But idk 🤷♂️
Can it be used with Xbox Series X? can it connect directly to the console or do you need to connect it to the pad with a cable?
Can this be used with oculus?
What adapter did u use to connect it to your PS5?
You convinced me to buy one!
🙌🙌
Thank you, for this great review. One question, Can I Use them while they are charging?
Unfortunately no
@@DanielsTechStudio Well, I just ordered them anyway. I hope the quality of sound will compensate the need of charging.
@@TheKruk666 So how do you like them so far?
@@martindescoteaux9288 I returned them after a week of testing. The 8 h battery life was too low for me. And charging also took ages. If they had around 24h-48h of battery life, then I would keep them. Instead I bought Panasonic SC-GN01, and theese are exactly what I was looking for, a little more quiet, but they are wired, and have better surround effect.
@@TheKruk666 thanks a lot!! On my side it is for use with my steam deck. Have a great day
just got it yesterday, its definitely felt better then headphone or my soundbar but its sad that when they advertised it as a dobly atmos neckband but didnt tell you that only on supported tv model.. my tv is sony x900h, dobly atmos wont work, not even sony's 360 spatial sound
Great vid! What about low latency? Are these speakers good for online PS5 FPS gaming like MW3/Warzone?
I'm trying out the Avantree Torus Neck Speaker--- and so far it's amazing. Connects to PS5 with APTX low latency USBC bluetooth transmitter--- I'm a big sony fan, but it sounds like SONY dropped the ball on ease of connectivity..... looking forward to ur advice!
Thanks!
Thanks! I don't play a lot of online shooters. From what I remember, there weren't any issues with lag the last time I played. That was over 2 yrs when this video was posted. I'm sure latency has only improved since then
@DanielsTechStudio that's great to know, I've ordered a set--- from other CZcams reviews, they are saying it's an excellent setup for gaming fingers crossed!
It's definitely a must have for gaming. You're gonna like it 👍🏾
to be clear: dolby atmos only works with Bravia TVs - is this correct?
1:57
"There are speakers below you, and physically behind your ears"
- No there aren't. There are just 2 speakers, one each side.
Then there are 2 passive radiators. The word passive is important, they are Not connected to any channel. Not even stereo.
They function more closely to acoustics, as sound reflector and disperser. Low frequency waves benefit most from this (like Bass) to give it a full sound flavour.
I'm wondering how these compare to the new Sony Bravia U wearable speaker? Crazy they're both $300 right now
I have a question, what would give a better connection and sound quality. Would it be using the puck it comes with or connecting it to the Bluetooth from your TV. Because I’ve been using it for my PS5 and this has change my experience with my PS5 but sometimes it disconnects when using it without the puck. I haven’t tried the puck yet.
Using it with the puck it came with is your best option. I haven't had any connection issues with the puck
@@DanielsTechStudio thanks 🙏
A quick one about the mic PS5 controller has its own built-in microphone you can use that.
Hello how is the latency for the necklace
I play a lot of fps game so delay really does matter
I haven't noticed any latency while playing
Really hope there's an 3.5mm AUX input, I really don't like to use any wireless devices e.g. Bluetooth.
The ONLY wired neckset is the Panasonic Soundslayer.
It connects via USB 3.0, but also has an AUX input if needed (though you'd still need to power it via USB if you required the AUX input).
I have it and the sony on order. I don't mind a wire, and it has the benefit of being able to also use the microphone while gaming...so that's a pretty big deal for me.
Hey you tried again to connect via ps5? I heard it connects with just the Bluetooth. So you really can’t use in game chat at all. I wonder in pc gaming if it works with discord and games
Doesn't connect on my PS5 at the time of filming. You can still use the controller mic or external mic for chat. I imagine it will work fine with PC as it connects through Bluetooth just fine.
Would be awesome if you could review this for PC gaming
I don't do any PC gaming right now but it would effectively be the same thing. Only this time your connecting Bluetooth straight to the computer and you wouldn't need the dongle.
@@DanielsTechStudio does the sound quality get worse if using bluetooth for pc?
I gave those a try in store using Bluetooth but I expected better performance honestly. I thought it would be a lot less noisy to the surroundings when u raise the volume. I vote for headphones 😆
Nah you messed up you should of tried it at home and messed around with the sound settings on the app these are legit game changers
Are they better than the Bose's soundwear ?
*WARNING: From PS5 & Monitor, it doesn't connect even with a Bluetooth aptX LL transmitter. Says "The PS5 doesn't support this Bluetooth accessory" yet I tested my Apple Powerbeats Pro and they could connect via the usb transmitter.
do you mean theses can only connect to the dongle BT. What about my phones and nvidia shield ?
It can connect to any Bluetooth source (phone, pc, etc)
@@DanielsTechStudio had to turn on my spatial sound on to get BT to remain connected to windows, just fyi for anyone encountering the same issue as me
These or the SRS-WS1?
Am I able to listen to Dolby Atmos from Blu-rays Running on PS5 if my tv doesnt have XR? (Sound send from PS5 to Tv through HDMI)
Unfortunately no, the limitations are still there
@@DanielsTechStudio strange I was asuming the PS5 would arrange the 360 reality sound like it does with games when wearing a headset.
@@Oblivion100 you still have "360" audio, it's just not dolby Atmos as it still has to be transmitted thru Bluetooth
@@DanielsTechStudio do you have an advantage with XR TV when using a PS5 of does the sound for games stay the same?
I don't have an XR tv so I'm not sure
I thought Dolby Atmos can't be played with optical cable. So there is no true dolby atmos from above?
Quick question here:
IF i play ps5 on a monitor, how to connect it?
Don't think you can in that case unless your monitor has an optical I/O
Yeah, bought this speaker after watching reviews and didn't read all comments.
I even bought a aptX LL usb Bluetooth transmitter just to connect, but somehow PS5 still doesn't recognize it! Other Bluetooth Apple headphones can connect via transmitter. Hmm what to do??
Nah but if i play with a PS5 and use the controller mic it’ll work right ?
Yup
Can you please share the audio settings you have in your PS5? I tried mine at home and it sounded weird (a little muffled too) and it should give me a headache if I wear any longer!
Are there any sound delays over bluetooth?
I have yet to experience any sound delay at all 👍🏾
I did send it back because of the delay.
@@Cyderic you can't delay from the puck, it's lossless.
But you will get the usual delay from using LDac, AAC and SBC bluetooth codecs. Those are around 250-400 ms depending on codec
The best Bluetooth codec these days is the Aptx LL, the NS7 does not support that.
@@Justmeandmy20cents I was using the puck. It is using Bluetooth so you have a delay. The delay minimization is supported in conjunction with a Sony Bravia TV only. You can read this on the official homepage as well.
To make it clear: this device is using Bluetooth. Directly or via puck. Both have a delay because it is Bluetooth.
You don't have a delay with a Sony tv though because it will sync itself automatically
Nice review. I have a question, have you tried to connect directly to PS5 using the optical cable to the dongle?
That's impossible, there is no optical I/O on the ps5
@@DanielsTechStudio , thanks for your reply. I still haven't get a PS5 yet, however, I do have a PS4 Pro, just wondering if the dongle would work instead of connecting to the TV.
It works on anything with an optical output, which is usually just TV's
For whatever reason when I try them with my PS5 it causes the system to lag. I've searched online but haven't found anything on the topic.
How are you connecting them to the PS5?
@@DanielsTechStudio Just through the dongle. Once I activate 3D sound the movement of my PS5 starts lagging.
@@crymsonenigma there is no direct connection to the speaker and the PS5, so I don't think it's the speaker or dongle causing it
@@DanielsTechStudio I've got an A90J that the speaker is connected to. All is fine until I turn on the 3D Audio on my TV. I've looked for updates and online support but I've managed to find nothing. What type of TV are you gaming on and are you using the 3D audio feature?
I am about to buy till I saw ppl complaining about the 3D lag. Hv you found any solutions to this.?
got these today and half-sitting up in bed i worry about how long these will work well with my face oils constantly getting on the top of the speaker? won’t the grille “clog” eventually?
The audio quality is bad for gaming on PC!! Its all muffled!
I tried playing CoD Warzone, very bad sound!, I returned it. And it wasnt a pc or setting issue. Nothing on the website of Sony about this.
Can you use this bluetooth connected on a pc?
Yes you can
@@DanielsTechStudio also is it uncorfortable to use it while laying on the bed instead of sitting?
It does kind of dig into your neck as it's not very flexible
Can you pair these to a smartphone?
Yes, you can. You can use it as a Bluetooth headset for anything
and gaming, the bass? Games have explosions, grenades. Do they sounds okay?
Damn woulda been insta buy if I coulda used for chat
Maybe the next one will let you do it. I'm certainly hoping so!
These are soooo good for playing halo
Love me some halo
Try the Hori neckphones. They have a jack port and also have mic. Somebody needs to make a good review of those with actual sound test and sound leak test.
Never heard of those. I'll look into it
They are shitty.Sony is real changer, with Dolby Atmos and 360 °reality audio!
I just got mine. And I was never so disappointed. Sound quality is average. 3d effect barely noticeable. I thought it would blow my mind, but when I just played the demo on my Sony Bravia (which is compatibile with these speakres), I was shocked how bad the effect was. No way this is cinema effect. Way better is any soundbar. I would consider them if they were half the price, but in this case its instant return. I gonna keep loking for better neck speaker.
I use my neck bands for battle royale games and movies when everyone is in bed asleep, but i use mine when everyone is in bed.
Neck Phones are Coming!
I like your videos, but I find it a bit weird how you frame the tip of your head to touch the top edge of the viewing screen 🤔
