Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ 30,000 Mile End of Life Tire Review

30,000 Mile Review of the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ Tire (205/50 R16)
Installed on a 2015 Honda FIT EX-L, Original 16 Inch Wheels, with no modifications and same RPM (revolutions per minute) as the OEM size 185/55 R16. Exact alternative size.
These tires all date coded 20/20 were purchased online from Discount Tire Online, shipped to my house for inspection, and installed by their related company America’s Tire of Southern California.
Probably the absolute best tire I have ever owned in 30 years+
Forgot to mention in the review that these tires have a rim protector-no possible way to get curb rash with these tires-another great benefit.
Could have squeaked out a couple of thousand more miles on the front tire and maybe 5K more on the set with more accurate rotation but after 4 years in the heat and sun these babies were showing their age with hardening of the rubber, loss of a few small chunks, and fronts slipping on some dry surfaces on hard acceleration.
Also want to mention that during the 4-year, 30K life of these tires, only 1 tire took on a nail that needed repair-but it did not strand me or require a change-the nail lodged in the tread, lost just 3 pounds of pressure, and plugged the hole until I able to drive 75 miles! for repair at America’s tire. With these tires you must watch your speed! I can’t tell you the number of times 90 felt like 50. I installed a “heads-up” display that sounds an alarm at 90.
The grip and stability that these tires provide--even on a Honda FIT-not known for performance suspension is remarkable. There was nothing I could do in the FIT on a curve to make these tire slip-the Silica compound hugs the road like rails.
Unfortunately, Michelin discontinued my tire size and any alternative sizes so without going through the expense to change the great wheels on an older car-I went back to another great tire that was on my FIT before the Michelin: BF Goodrich G-Force Comp-2 A/S Plus in 205/5 R16 (BF Goodrich is a Michelin Company.)
