I'll take it. Pretty sure in my laser repulsor video I explained the reason I used a laser is because this "repulsor" tech isn't real though... :P
Buuuut now that you've called everyone out... the real question is, who can make the longest range version? I think I'd be "happy"...ish with a 10+ foot range version... seems fun.
But it'll have to wait. I just broke my hand for another video 🙃

It needs a small regulated pressure cylinder so that you can pre-charge it consistently with a stoichiometric air/fuel ratio that primes automatically between shots. That would give a much better, more consistent effect and be safer. It can also give you the option to tune the system for different environments. You also have the option to lighten a lot of it up by using an electronic regulation and discharge.

Hell, the toy probably works even better in terms of range and power and would shoot reliably too. All he needs to make that automatic is just a motor to crank it back and release when it's on the draw back and that mechanism already exists in cheap electric bb guns.

The others didint really scream iron man. That first one just catches fire, and has no semebelnce of ironman.
The second one was actually pretty good, but it has no force behind it visually. So that makes it kinda unimpressive because it looks like a big UV lamp you hold out in front.
I think you guys are fair to judge and all. But he did give the guy with the least resourses the highest grade, as he actually followed the assignment.
He did not click bait his title. He called his own invention what it was, a cheap inexpensive way to get a low end repulsor. And i can see it more like a repulsor in appearance and actual practicality. (The force)
Now this guy, he basically upscaled that. It's got a forceful push, it's a bit blue in color, and I can see it as a mock up of the first iron man suits arm.
The only way to get something like a real repulsor is to have military grade tech/support. People are way to anal about trying to fabricate pop culture into reality. Entertainment is entertainment, loosen up.

they could use an arc “like reactor” (aka arc lighter) and use the arc lighter with a separate chamber(maybe strap away from body for pre-test) for gas control, and find a way to shoot the air pressure of the gas into the tube that will lead to the hand where the tube exits and a arc reactor (aka arc lighter) ignites the gas as it leaves the hand. Maybe putting an arc lighter in the hand area so that it ignites as it leaves the vortex chamber. Then you should not only get better results, but safer as the gas would have to build up in a separate chamber and be forced out by your hand, so that if it does catch the separate chamber can be detached. I’m thinking perhaps a backpack like design that clips on and off for saftey

The thing hacksmith indrustries made is not a repulsor. It's a high-density laser grid. A repulsor is defined as a device that "Repels or deflects other objects". The iron man repulsor is supposed to generate a electromagnetic shockwave powerful enough and dense enough to cause a shockwave of ions to pulse out from the emitter, basically you would need to build a device which can release enough conductivity in a focal point at such speeds that it expands on emission. The energy needed to do this would be futile to have stored in a costume unless you use plutonium power cells, or you could 3d print a dense lithium-ion power cell grid with a nano printer and nano plate coating system so the battery wouldn't be as thick or heavy, making it shapeable and efficient to use practically in a costume. The transmission would all need to be done through high temperature rated finely tuned superconductors, and to create a repulse wave, you would need something to gather ions of the same polarity at the tip of the emitter to push against. For the sake of efficiency, it would be easier to gather the ions by supercharging the emitter with a negative charge to attract positive ions, and then flip the polarity of the stored energy instantaneously to push the ions away.

What if you used an revolver style set up for the iron man hand blaster? Using 22.cal blanks like you did for the moon boots? You would be able to make it offset so the chamber is centered.
And for the thrust you could also use the gas too. So pushing gas through an separate tube maybe a small 5-10mm tube which would cause for the affect of the fire ball. And the force of the 22.cal blank could fire out a projectile. Which you could use an resin round with an led and an small cell battery to make it light up. Using an magnet to separate the cell from the led inside the resin round and then when it fires it releases so it looks like an bright white or blue bolt firing.
There's also another youtuber who is the chemistry guy who uses lasers and electricity.
He recently did one video where made points about current etc.
He could make the one the bad guy had with the whips. If he made an fiber glass style whip with long strands of conductive metals inside (hair thin) and made separate in say one inch gaps and just close to he surface (like the fibre optics trees at Christmas) The lightning bolts would travel along the surface allowing for the arcs to travels. When he whips it to the grown or an metal object it would create the plasma sparks.
The projectile for the Aron man glove is fair given he used micro missiles on the top section (from the back of the hand).
Also as an fuel what about using an mixture of gas an O2. It's an 15% methane to 02 ratio for an explosive reaction (variable). There are solid state fuels but you could make capsules like he co2 capsules to hold the hydrogen and O2. And using the switch system you could press one to fill the other to fire.
I'd say using the finger switch to fill with the gas and the one on the wrist to fire both the gas and the blank.
This would mea that you could make it to fit in the exact sizing as the iron man suit.
If you wanted to be more technical you could like at firing plasma bolts.
If you can find an way to separate plasma (as matter) and using an electromagnetic setup to reverberate this matter bac and fourth under an smell area. This would create an large pressure (void) which when you cancel out the opposing force you release all this stored energy in an quick burst.
The problem with the plasma is well is plasma. But you could also consider using an non magnetic metal with an magnetic jacket and using em fields to create it to spin at an high speed and then use propulsion to fire it out. Like the 22.cal idea but using either the gas of even an low size high energy rail gin affect.
If you was to line the arm section with capacitors to store the energy you could use these to create an high release of energy.
Maybe even using electro magnetic plates. Causing them to smash together to create the energy. Thi could also b use in space.
Using the funnel in the middle and releasing an small amount of gas (even co2) could create enough of an vacuum inside to allow the fluctuations to push the gasses out at an high force. As an engine this would work because it's an larger source of power. Which can use the solar power to store power. As an hand held device air resistance would affect this so it'd not b as good.
    Like an em drive..
You could also use atomisers to create H2O and O2 from water as an continual source of gas to power the system. Though I think it'd be better to have capsules which you can change out like the co2 capsules.
I hope thi all makes sense..
    Kind regards

I really don't think you gave alexlabs enough credit because he figured out a ton of things for others to use and he wasn't necessarily focusing on propulsion and more on destruction.

Because repulsor should be repulsing things, not straight up burn it. Ironman does have straight up laser for cutting steel and stuff tho.

Love the vid and all in good fun, but I think without a massive source of energy there will not be a functional repulsor, especially considering the real ones actually provide a constant thrust as well as the ability to lift a human in full metal armor off the ground etc. This is why Iron Man uses a small reactor on his chest, in itself completely unfeasible as it would lack cooling and any outlet for nuclear waste (as well as probably being hot enough to melt most metals and give you radiation poisoning immediately). Without designing a small form factor power source that you can attach to yourself and have that actually be safe and possible, the Iron Man dream will always be a dream.
