Whenever I try and film a night drive somewhere, I get super bright flares from oncoming traffic and other light sources which are distracting.
it’s either off, or doesn’t show up on camera. I know the newer ones still have it. But if you notice at the beginning when he gets out, i think it turned on when he opened the door
It's electronic so I assume a tune can "fix" it. It's all for stupid emissions, if you care about the environment then go buy an ID4, is the way I see it.
Our new GLI is at 700 miles and the rev hang is quite annoying on the 1-2 shift. Above that it's not so bad because the clutch engagement is so soft on 2-3, 3-4 etc that it's fine. But on 1-2, yes it definitely sucks. I read someplace that this is intentional and has something to do with emissions, but I don't know if that's reliable info or not. Otherwise quite happy with ours thus far. Wife is very happy to be back in a 6MT again.
For some reason the bonehead engineers at VW decided to use absolute pressure for boost. Subtract atmospheric, 14.7 psi (Just round to 15), to find what actual boost is.

It's 100% tunable. A lighter flywheel won't help at all. A lighter flywheel will just make it easier to stall and trickier to get smooth shifts.
