Gardevoir seems highly slept on. It plays slightly different and is more clunky but it feels very powerful still
But it’s match ups are not great right now.. it struggles against the top three decks on this list… it doesn’t have a great time… maybe in the next couple sets they will print some better cards for it
I think so too, going second and playing Arven for Poffin + TM Evo gets you two kirlias on the bench, after that your engine is set and you can draw and discard energies
No honorable mention to Gouging Fire? I dont think its top tier by and means but seems to be showing up as of now.
are there any good gholdengo decks? i am very new to TCG but i really like gholdengo
too a couple months off after the rotation, this video made me way less stressed about it. might be back on the grind, thanks brother!
Good video, it would be helpful to have a visual for the cards/moves you're referring to as you discuss the deck. Otherwise, well spoken and concise.
a deck not mentioned here: espathra ex xatu. in my experience, is a very strong iron hands counter. iron hands needs a lot of energy cards to get going, so being able to set up with both the pokemon league headquarters and espathra's ability makes it pretty much unusable. even with heavy baton (which it likely has a lost vacuum to answer with), you become extremely vulnerable as espathras psy bolt, which 1-hit KOs an iron hands with enough energy to attack, and iron hands does not 1-hit KO it in return. then you're back to the races scrambling to get 4-5 more energy.
I really like how you take "group think" into consideration when talking about the meta. PTCG content creators have so much influence on the decks people decide to play
I wonder if we'll see as many Lugias as the meta develops. I've been playing it a bit on the ladder and have started to run into more and more Turbo Hands/Future Hands decks and it's rough when they show up. It'll be really interesting to see EUIC's deck spread.
I love iron hands but I will probably play it next rotation when chien pou loses irda and falls off.. the zard is just to popular and unless they brick iron hands doesn’t stand much chance and even if they do brick they can still make a come back so it’s not fun
turbo hands will flop massively i predict.
their existence will result in less lugias in the meta than they hoped for, and more zard and chien pao than they expect. both of which will have more than 50% of the meta combined.
when people realise turbo hands isn't viable and move to other decks, there'll be a resurgence of lugias.
as for top 8, there will be at least 1 zard, 1 chien pao, 1 snorlax stall and a few lost tinas, if lucky, a rogue like mill tusk and espathra banette may make top 16.
@@dekuscrub2744 yea loss of irida will hurt water decks A LOT. chien pao won't just fall off, like garde ex did. it'll become unplayable.
Future Hands' match-up is also good against Snorlax Stall. And the match-up against Charizard is also quite winnable when you draw one Boss's Order and the Prime Catcher and have a loaded Iron Hands. For me Future Hands is the go-to Deck right now.
not to mention the Iron Thorns EX coming next set
Where do I go if I want to get into Pokemon tcg/ learn?
I've been having good matches with Roaring Moon EX, similar to the one in the video but with a few changes, winning 75% of the matches, and I agree, Tera Charizard and Iron hands ex are 80% of the online decks...
I'm just getting into playing pokemon again after a few years. What is the best Deck to play? I normally don't like Charizard cause literally everyone wants that. I think I want the Lugia V deck
instead of manphy in charlizard ex entei v can be added and instead of a stadium a gift energy and instead of the lost vaccum an extra professor future
banette garde is also good as well as garde raging bolt...
I struggle against RM and im not sure why its not higher
I'm still a pretty big noob at Pokemon TCG Live (or battle card games in general but I still like them and am learning), but it's good to know that whenever I am swept by a freaking Chien Pao deck, it's because it's probably one of the top best decks in the game and NOT COMPLETELY because I suck lol.
From a noob's perspective though, I think a Gengar EX deck would actually be a pretty good counter to the typical Chien Pao deck right? The Gnawning Curse (??) ability is incremental. So, if they place 6 energy cards on Chien Pao from their hard (thanks Baxcalibur), 1 Gengar EX will add 120 damage to that card. If you have 2 Gengar EX, that's 240 and that Chien Pao is knocked out. But, I'm a noob so....yeah, that's just my opinion
bro thats amazing ,😍 i wonder how to play this game ! i downloaded it from play sotre and tried to make an account but always blocked by pokemon website saying that access is denied ! is it limited to some countries ! i am in africa now 💭😵💫
Ancient box was so deceptive. Its base of entirely single prize attackers meant the multi prize decks could fall behind fast
Dam Lugia getting low cause of future hands glad it’s still high on the list though 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
Makes me wonder if more people will tech in the noivern ex line then. Been testing at locals for a few of them cause we have so many iron hands players and normally if you get noivern going they just never won.
I mainly play the games and have collected some cards. I am trying to get into the tcg. Any tips for beginners?
Find a deck that looks cool to you and start playing it on tcg live and start getting practice on the game.. after you feel comfortable with how the game works. Find out where in your area they hold local Pokémon tournaments and makes some friends and play some cards!
my plan against charizard is usually seeing how fast I can click concede
I still think Lugia is so strong and would be BDIF if it weren’t for iron hands matchup. It feels like unless they brick you auto lose
as a iron hands player, i feel like our worst matchup is actually lost zone giratina. maybe i've just been unlucky, but i feel like it always gets everything it needs and even if YOU get everything you need, its not enough. contrast that to charizard, where if iron hands get a favorable turn 1 setup (going 2nd with miraidon boosting) you're often set and can get big damage early. often i dont even need to concern myself with charizard, because iron hands aggression allows it to get down to only needing 2-3 prize cards very quickly, and at that point, a single boss' orders is enough to win. if they have a pidgeot, thats a win. if they have a lumineon, thats a win. if they have a rotom, thats probably a win. the ONLY major vulnerability is the use of lost vacuum, where losing just a single heavy baton can cost you the game. but thats a vulnerability of every one of iron hands matchups, not just charizard.
I don’t see why people say Roaring Moon is unplayable.. It’s been working great for me. Future hands goes hard too.
I love future hands if charizard wasn’t so popular it be the bdif
I’m really trying to make future hands work but it kinda bricks a lot haha
High Gift energy count has been working for me, I’ve been running 3 in my list
I don’t brick much I just play high arven and iono counts to one disrupt my opponent and two keep me drawing.. also mew ex is nice for drawing that extra card or two.. it has saved me games so many times
I'm loving Future Hands right now. Take in mind I'm a week new to the game but its been quite fun and good in 4-600.
Also big fan of Garatina
Main thing is play what you enjoy
Good Video!!
Meowscarada ex is fairly solid vs charizard
Witch one is the strongest deck in meta right now??
Turbo hands at #2 is jokes
I've played 100-150 matches on the ladders with nothing but Future Hands and the only deck that consistently gives me trouble is Zard. Control isn't bad once I figured out how to deal with it and Chien--Pao can be tough, but nothing else I've seen so far Lugia is a free win, haven't lost a single matchup with it yet. One time it fed me 4 in a row and I gobbled them all up lol
Yeah I love this deck if zard wasn’t in format the hands would be the bdif
Mind sharing your tips for control?
@alexanderkke2218 Switch Carts, Boss, and most important only bench 3 mons max, 2 ideally with a Miraidon and Hands. Don't sit on any between turns either, get them out of your hand before attacking if you can.
Thank you 👍
@@voldo123 I'm also running penny in case they trap my iron crown with Erika's invitation, but I might have to add some carts to the deck
How can charizard be on top 1 when baxcalibur, control and lugia have advantage over it?
Lugia vs Zard is close enough. As stated in the video, zard's power level and consistency keeps it on top even if it has some bad matchups floating around.
Because Zard is still the most consistent deck in the game and Lugia bricks super hard a lot, baxcaliber is also prone to bricking or hand disruption, and control is also prone to bricking and hand disruption. All things Zard take advantage of really well.
Need someone to make a competitive Raging Bolt deck
There is a competitive raging bolt deck with sandy shocks performing well in Japan
im trying that out rn
Rooting for ancient box to succeed...
Me too. The deck has lots of potential, since it can be improved with the releases od New Ancient Cards
It really feels like it just misses a better early attacker and late game draw. koraidon isn't it
@@leokiralla4449 yeah, sems to be one turn behind..which is a scry thought because its indeed one of the only good single prize decks around
why is the iron bundle played in chien pao?
The deck wants to take 2 prizes whenever it attacks. Either Chien-Pao an ex or iron hands a small pokemon. If your opponent has neither active, like a rad zard for example, you can make them bring in a better option for you
@@leokiralla4449 oh that's intresting thanks
So as someone who’s trying to play TCG what should I make
Charizard is the best as of now but because of that you will see a lot of mirror matches and it's a relatively straight forward deck.
Almost all the decks are cheap though. I built my zard deck for about 90$ after starting out with nothing.
U should get the app and learn how different decks play (they have some starter ones on there)
@@steven6666600000 I do wanna build charizard tbh, I’m looking forward to that new greninja so I might wait till that and just practice the hard skills
@@istein2567 hey I have been playing the app for quite some time now, currently enjoying roaring moon
How is future hands bad against Zard when going second has donk potential and you can tech in iron leaves?
Future hands with leaves is likely going to be future box, which isn't performing at all at the moment. Donks will happen sometimes but counting on that as a reason for advantage in the matchup is a weak argument.
Adding leaves destroys the ratio for getting hits on electric generator. It also makes getting stuck with leaves in the active turn 1 or having it prized when you need it or having even ONE of its energy prized is super awkward.
@CeliosNetwork It still at least means that I'm going to subtract one basic from your board and you have to pull rare candy on your next turn in order to not lose more since I'm already in position to ko it with Miraidon or Amp You Very Much. I understand that any deck loses with bad draws and bricks but Future Hands builds advantage so fast that you can't afford to waste turns and bleed prize cards. I agree you shouldn't rely on donks for your mu but any deck that plays small basics is put on notice by future hands
@Docsfortune But that's really not a great argument because you are already running 3-4 Iron Crown that could get stuck in the active, and 4 tool cards that give you free retreat. I run a hisuian heavy ball and one extra grass energy. You can increase the odds by attaching grass energies out of the deck right away with Peak Acceleration if you don't end up needing them.
@@radaf4429 doing that destroys your ratios and consistency though, and lowers your odds of hitting electric generators. Running 13 electric and two grass destroys your consistency ratio on item cards that help with consistency. It leaves you prone to bricking more often.
Future hands is so overrated
*promo sm* 🏃
How long will you all pokeinfluencers keep ignoring gholdengo
It’s just not that good. It’s slower than ChienPao and still has all the same weaknesses. The fact that you have to be able to discard 2-3 waters on turn 1 and no good way to get a ton of energy in hand turn 1 going second or turn 2 makes it’s sub par or B tier at best. Listen, before I get hate, I play Gholdengo at locals. I love the deck. But it is so prone to bricking or hand disruption.
I hate that deck because it always whoops my ass. 😢😂😂
They haven’t. It’s just not as good as other decks. You play whatever you want to, but overall, there are far better decks out there.
waiting for it to do something probably,if its meant to be its meant to be
Until it actually gets good 😂
i'm so tired of pokemon constantly putting out these OP charizard decks. like we get it, its a popular pokemon with 12 year old boys. you have over 1000 pokemon to choose from.
