Hello my Beautiful People! Welcome back to the Goddess Series!
The Goddess we are honoring tonight is Amphitrite, the Goddess of the Sea. She was the wife of Poseidon and revered by sailors and sea faring people for the protection she offered them. She was known to calm the turbulent ocean with a wave of her hand, and is thought to be the mother of all sea creatures. I hope you enjoy her story.. lets get started!
I am using a 24x30 inch gallery wrapped canvas from Artists Loft.
I am using my Makita Cordless Mini Leafblower to blow out my paints. I prefer my mini leafblower for three reasons:
1. Its Cordless! So I wont be dragging the cord thru my artwork.
2. The Progressive Trigger allows me to control how hard or softly the air blows.
3. It only blows cool air. I have yet to find a blowdryer that has all of those features.
I am doing a Chaos BlowOut Pour tonight. I love these, they are so much fun!

I have added a lot of water to my paints tonight to thin them enough to blow them out. I mixed my pouring medium as usual, then added paints and floetrol, and then I added enough water to get all of them the same in consistency. I have kept a few a smidge thicker than the rest for a good reason. I don't want them to take over and thicker paint is less likely to spread everywhere and take over. I kept the bright aqua green and the 24K gold thicker for that reason, and the TLP Mint Chip I kept thicker because it can be a bit transparent and I really wanted the color to come thru.
I love the base coat color, that pretty Seafoam green color, and I think its a perfect backdrop for the darker Prussian blue, and the Mysterious and Greenish Blue. We need that pearly white and gold and Mint Chip to give us contrast against the darker colors and really give us that POP.
I love the way this piece came out! Its calming and ethereal and has so much passion and movement at the same time. I hope I have honored Amphitrite with this piece.

You are so much fun to watch! This reminds me of a Chaos series that I did last year, Delightful Garden Chaos. My husband reminded me that i have a birthday coming up and hinted that he was buying me a Makita leaf blower...see how inspiring you are!
That's so cool, I hope you have fun with it! Happy Birthday in advance!!
@@MinaVillegasArt Thank you Mina! Happy Easter! ♥♥♥
Oh Mina it’s so pretty. I grew up on the banks of the Miramichi river in NB Canada. When we were kids the water was so clear. Now when we go boating I would not want to swim in that river, so much garbage🙁our river flows into the Atlantic Ocean and global warming is changing our climate! We have just had the warmest winter on record. I grew up on a farm and we depended on the seasons for the crops. Not it’s either hotter than Hell or or raining all summer. So please to anybody that may read this Please take your garbage home with you or oceans depend on you! Thanks

Absolutely GORGEOUS!!! And thank you so much for speaking up on behalf of our oceans and, accordingly, our world. You’re an amazing human being and I appreciate you more than you can imagine.

Parabéns!!! Lindo!!
Love this
LOL. 💞💞💞💞OMG.💞💞💞💞 Even your blow dryer is big. Mina's motto (I've been saying it for a few years now....) "Go big or go home." You rock, Mina. 💞💞💞💞💞 Anyway, this is awesome--- the painting and the amazing story. And the colors, too!! 💞💞💞💞!! Oh wait - here is a way we can all help the ocean and the planet - stop buying everything consumed "to go". It's happening in incomprehensible proportions. Many people don't make their own coffee anymore, or their food. Everything is on the go and so much garbage is being created in epic amounts. Never mind buying so many "things" all the time. And don't get me started about people not wanting to use actual dishes or real cutlery anymore. I mean, hey, why not use disposable everything so more time can be spent playing on the phone. It's so reckless. That is what the real problem is....people's laziness and bad habits. And, yes, all the plastic is causing havoc in the oceans and to our bodies. It leeches things in the fluids that wack out our hormones. Lord....we are not only trashing the planet but our bodies along with it.
Totally gorgeous Mina, perfect colour pallette and blow out. Loved hearing about the sea goddess. May I ask what ratio of paint, owtrol and gel gloss you use? Thx so much ❤
Belle madame mina ça serait super cool si vous prenez un stencil de femme comme sur les images que vous avez montré!votre toile était fabuleuse 👍👍👍💙💚💜💛❤🌠🌠🌠
Beautiful! My favorite colors! What do you use to seal your pieces? I use resin and just finished a resin tryptic and I'm sick of looking at it!! Now it's in my foyer and I still have to look at it! Do you use a varnish and what do you like? I have Joshana varnish. Thoughts? and HOA is hilarious!
Hi Laura! Because I use Gel Gloss in my pouring medium my pieces dry fairly shiny.. so I usually don't feel the need to add additional Varnish. If I do want more shine I like Krylon UV Resistant Archival Spray Gloss. Occasionally I will resin some pieces, I love Art Resin for how easy it is to use and the lack of smell. I hope this helps! Good Luck and have fun! Ps- HoA says thanks and Hi!!
❤❤❤

oh Mina, do not get into Zeus's love affairs, in the end he just got them ALL LOL I remember in school (greek here, we had to learn all these and in the end we lost count)
Love it. The colours and the movement in the piece looks like the sea. I can imagine Amphitrite just below the surface.
The mint chip and the base coat are about tge same color.
Hi Dawn
The Mint Chip is a Metallic This Little Piggy pigment.. it shifts and shimmers on top of the base. Its a very cool semi -transparent layer.
I love you
I love you too Beautiful!! ❤️❤️❤️
