This is part one of a two part playthrough of Phantom Fury. It’s an adventure starring Shelly Bombshell and it takes place after the events of Ion Fury, but it’s more of a spin-off than a direct sequel. It’s still got big beefy guns and a wise-cracking heroine, but the visual style, puzzles and physics-based gameplay are more inspired by Half-Life than Duke 3D. I had a ton of fun with it. Part two will be going up in the next couple of days.
Dont tell me this game is like 4 hours long
Im happy you had fun. Ive looked at gameplay and reviews from both positive and negative perspectives and all i can see are things i do not like unfortunately.🫤
@AlphaBetaGamer I really want to love that game but after the bad reviews, i hope i will, at least just like you, have a ton of fun with it. Well, i disagree on A LOT on things about these reviews so....
I'm happy to find someone who actually had fun with it, I'm waiting for this game till its announcement and do want to try it, even the not so good DEMO didn't break my enthusiasm. I'm just hoping all these critics would bring patches like people did for Cyberpunk...I'm also happy full 3D permits to have something with less details, Ion Fury had so many details it was very demanding to me, trying to watch everything to know what to pick or to do. While I both love Phantom Fury's aesthetic for itself, and for the simplicity it brings for the eyes, something more relaxing.
9:03 "hold it!"
She's already holding it. The gun, I mean.
This mix of low res graphics in high resolution is oddly cool.
Kinda strange to me.
Great combat and voice over thanks for posting.
31:30 wow, that chair toss was almost in the far vicinity of actually hitting you!
So buying this game tomorrow! Thanks for the first look.
Hold out a bit longer and wait for more footage/reviews. The game apparently has deep problems.
1:22:22 gotta hand it to the zombie, he has impressive finger strength lifting a crate on the other side of a mesh fence, right through it
I love it when games take inspiration from Half-life and make it better. The one thing that scares me the most is Splitgate Ironworks.
Anyway, very good gameplay.
From what ive heard, the starting section of the game is where things are great. Towards the end though... well, things do start getting repetitive
@@Hyde-dg7efjust like Half-Life 2, that game is so repetitive for only having 4 enemies.
1:40:19 wow, she started the car well before she even got into the car. What skills!
32:37 lol he threw that barrel at himself
Why do the zombies look like "an attempt at my life was made that left me scarred and disfigired" Palpatine?
3:03 I'm giving this tanning bed a one-star review
Awesome! I love sci-fi games!
2 minutes in, paused the video and wishlisted the game :D
This game is soo sick i love how they mixed so many cool things together ❤️
Yeah, it looks awesome!
This is one of the greatest playthroughs in the AlphaBetaGamer CZcams channel; I'll check it later.
Despite what some people have said about the game, I really enjoyed my time with it. Sure, there are bugs and a few other problems but overall it was a good experience.
I cant wait for that flesh/meat contra clone, if i dont hve the hardware to play it ill get, it seems like my ally defined❤
IRON MEAT
@@stryker0ae don't underestimate "the flesh, and the power it holds"

Looks sick 🤙🏻
Game looks good, i´ll definitely try this one out some time.
Valve and Crowbar collective seeing this : 11:24🗿
Is that JK Simmons? 😯 Sounds just like him
I’m really hoping that we can start to see more games inspired by Half-Life after SO many games inspired by Doom and Quake.
Please no, every FPS back in 2000's was a boring Half-Life clone, DOOM 3 for example is a generic Half-Life clone.
I hope the inspiration goes for the graphics and story direction (and maybe gunplay too), the Half Life franchise feels timeless no matter the entry, meanwhile other games can feel dated a few years after release.
@@Saint_Wolf_ described Half-Life, especially the gunplay part.
@@Saint_Wolf_ So true!
It's about time Half-Life-likes had a renaissance. Much more interesting than Doom clones.
That Ultrakill easter egg's interesting. The robotics lab is doing research on the Ultrakill robot?
It looks like it! Also one of the devs of this game also worked on Ultrakill.
Nice shot 16:56 😊
Dawg the video is 3 hours long, and posted 3 minutes ago, i shouldn't even be commenting, i should be watching the video lmao
More retro games. 🎮
Yeah, I would say NO to the burger in the dead body as well.
It looks cool but the only gripe I have is the enemy variety was pretty low giving a bit of repetition to the gameplay. Can only use the bounce and toss goobers so much.
I'm sensing a new Easter eggs video from Captain Eggcellent coming soon
2:06:34 Toilet FBI! Open up! You are under arserest for ass-sorted toilet crimes!
LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm willing to bet 36:55 you got a scare!!!!!
Wasn’t Phantom Fury the code name for the Siege of Fallujah?
1:18:30 *misses every single keystroke*
*Hacker voice* I'm out
System Shock, is that you?
very good game. I recomand us. My rating is 8,5/10
If they clean up the bugs I might pick it up. Certainly looks less half-baked than Graven
Yeah, I really liked it. The only real issue I encountered was that it was hard to figure out where you were supposed to go at times. I suspect they'll add a little more guidance in an update though as it was a fairly common complaint.
Are the vehicle sections as painful as they look?
👍🏻👌🏻
Perhaps I won’t spoil the impression of a spoiler, I’ll go through the game on my own.
graphics look simple...ish. Any luck running on the steam deck?
It is deck certified.
This game looks awesome but man that shotgun sound is whimpy
Why the hate from the reviewers? The game looks like it plays fine to me. Early 3D fps games were pretty simple. This game seems to emulate that fine. More enemy variety and a longer campaign be my only gripe
I don't usually bother with reviews nowadays, but it seems like they're generally positive (74% on Metacritic compared to Ion Fury's 79%). I think a lot of the backlash is just because people were expecting it to play like Ion Fury.
Isn't this game marketed as Ion Fury's sequel?
@@TheSpitefulSwordstory-wise, yes, but they have been open in saying it is based on late 90s/early 2000s shooters like Sin, Half Life, Unreal, Halo, Half Life 2, Doom 3. Same protagonist, different style of game. While Ion Fury was Duke Nukem 3D, Shadow Warrior, Blood.
Ion Fury is like an imaginary game that came out in 1996. Phantom Fury is like an imaginary sequel that came out in 2001.
(Bare in mind that is what Duke Nukem Forever was originally meant to be. So it is like "What is Duke Nukem Forever had actually come out when it was supposed to".)
ah yes, the first passcode from deus ex games
Curious though. Why post it today instead of tomorrow when it's actually released so people could immediately go buy it? The sales conversion loss must be huge from this. Huge difference between only wishlisting and actually buying.
Hi Today was the embargo date. I guess it was so that people could see what the game was like before they buy it. Lots of people are expecting it to be an Ion Fury sequel (which it isn't). I don't think videos will hurt sales though. If I watch a video of a game and I like the look of the gameplay, I'm more inclined to buy the game (especially with gameplay-focused games like FPS's)
@@AlphaBetaGamer oh no no, I think you misunderstood a bit. Of course the video doesn't hurt sales - quite the opposite! But right now, after watching the video people can only wishlist the game and maybe buy it tomorrow. If it was released tomorrow people would be able to immediate purchase it and jump straight in. This is bound to be better for the sales. I'm not a 3drealms representative or anything, just curious :)
Why are women made by indie games better than milllion dollar videogame companies
Because Blackrock didn't fund em
Wat
@@dezalt who’s black rock
The root cause of why many women in the entertainment industry now is so ugly and miserable.
please just learn to google for some porn im begging yall incels
Game looks good i hope next time we get something new instead of Doom,HalfLife..based games.
Is it just me, or does the melee finisher animation in this feel... kinda lame?
Some of the guns look like they lack a lot of punch and the action looks boring. Most of the time the enemies are just running back and forth or standing still. But it might be different actually playing. I found the Doom reboots to look punchy and great when watching videos, but playing it was disappointing. Opposite with Killing Floor and FEAR.
The only weapons I wasn't keen on were the batton, the pistol and the foam cannon. The rest of them all pack a punch (especially the triple barrel shotgun).
Ok, this IS better than that piece-of-shit demo with really bad gameplay. That said, I'll wait for a full review from trusted sources like Civvie 11 before getting it.

G, the pathfinding of this game sucks, I have to watch this video many times for clue.
So, why are you fighting your own guys again?
'Half Life inspired' so now I can judge it on two fronts - how good it is compared to Ion Fury and how good it is compared to 25 years old game. It fails on both sides
Hi! What issues do you have with the game? I really liked it.
@@AlphaBetaGamer it's simply too mediocre. Maybe years later it will be considered a 'decent shooter that was hated for no reason'. Shelly doesn't deserve this fate.
"an Half-Life inspired FPS" i will take that as a warning.
18:02 Half Life inspired FPS in a sequel of Boomer Shooter is certainly a choice, considering HL gameloop is not that interesting.
Cue lots of sad old men crying in the comments that it's not exactly the same as Ion Fury. 👀
When I played the original and completed I wondered how the game would look in 3D and what do you know, the devs did just that 💀can't wait to play this (the mutants are a pain in ass though)
I played in it and it’s very bad and boring, alas..
