For player 2 (Evan Bernard): • Time Crisis 4 real arc...
Real arcade gameplay captured from the actual Time Crisis 4 Namco System Super 256 arcade hardware.
Finally, it was time to do some gameplay of this awesome game. This game uses the exact IR led pcbs and IR sensor that cobra the arcade and Sega House of the dead 2,3,4, Virtua Cop, Ghost Squad and Jurassic park used. Namco used a similar setup for the later Time Crisis 5, Razing Storm, and Point Blank X. The OHMIC OMZ IR setup. The game uses either the Namco FCA2 I/O pcb or the Namco V329 NA-JA pcb, which are usb JVS I/O pcbs. In addition, the CPU pcb or Gun sense OMZ-200 pcb is also used for the gun sensor system. And despite some beliefs, the game doesn’t have an inter-graded gun I/O pcb or is compatible with other light gun I/O pcbs. The game also uses 10 IR led pcbs around the monitor. The game runs only in 15khz 480i resolution. This game is a huge pain in the ass to setup. The game also uses a 3.1 audio system: Left, Right, Voice, and Bass. The third yellow rca jack is not a composite video port but a sound card for the voice navigation feature of the game. Had to do some trickery to get the voice navigation audio to work in this video as the arcade cabinet and the audio amp used a third speaker, sort of like a smaller version of surround sound. Do I recommend this version of the game for home use? No, I do not. Not only are the parts extremely expensive, the set up is terrible. Overall, it’s a good game!
Game: Time Crisis 4 (2006)
Arcade System: Namco System Super 256 - Hry
This was my favourite game of the entire arcade. In my opinion it was the best on it's type, good gameplay, controllers and graphics. It will always have a small part in my gamer heart
You've done it again! Love the quality you've captured of this arcade hit. Just wish there were more games like it in arcades these days.
10:36 - That's gotta be the roughest last day on the job, getting smacked in the head by Captain Rush and shot at the same time by Giorgio. 🤣
Thank you so much bro! I got more videos just like this on my channel! Feel free to check them out! They are free to watch, of course! :D
It looks so different and it looks better then the PS3 version, I never notice they added bloom and new water effects
Yeah! That command voice for "Best Weapon" "Reload" and "Action" sounds so much more realistic and intensive.
@@w.cooksy421 The arcade and PS3 version has the same recordings, but the arcade version has a radio effect and low quality
Don’t forget true Dolby 5.1 surround sound for the PlayStation 3 unlike the arcade which uses 3.1 stereo + voice audio.
@@FIGHTERSCHOICEArcade What about Gashin Strong Sound System?
It’s just a marketing tactic, it’s not like Capcom’s QSOUND audio system which actually has an onboard custom audio processor in both the audio amp and supported arcade games. The Namco amps use the same audio ICs found in car amps. It’s just a strong bass system, which is actually pretty awesome paired with the right subwoofer.
In my opinion, TC4 is probably the easiest to learn among all the TC series, several years ago I've mastered this arcade game. My highest score is 5.2M with no continue clear
Time Crisis 4 is very unique, believe it or not, this is my first time playing this game. I have never played the PlayStation 3 version or the arcade version. I was lucky enough to find the parts for the arcade version. It did take me some time to get the hang of it. I’m my opinion, TC2 is probably the easiest one to play. Dang! You are truly a master if you completed the game with no continues and with a huge high score! I salute you! :)
I also one time cleared the full run of TC4 without damage (no life lost). Achieved since 2011
Great performance! I've really struggled with the Time Crisis series. Need to get better at dodging red bullets. My best on this game is reaching Wild Dog without dying, but never got past him on one credit.
@@Multibrawlr red soldiers are easy to predict because their first attack is the red bullet. But the dark or light gray soldiers are hard to predict
I’m at not a pro but these tips are pretty neat! Anymore awesome tips for getting a high score?
18:28 - I've never seen this "Mission Failed" part of the game. Interesting how it changes the finale of the boss fight of this stage.
Very nice. Just noticed that in the PS3 version, the cutscene for the Stage 2 boss was changed to remove the cigar he's smoking.
Censorship Measure nothing new for that
Wow, first ever Arcade real gameplay
This is so much better than the ps3 version definitely love it! :)
2:43 why is it Alan Dunaway's hands and feet
The sounds on the arcade version sounds more muffled than the ps3 version
I've played this one a month ago. Nice game!
Fun Fact: In the Japanese version of this game, at the Gun Calibration Screen after it ask you if you want to turn on the recoil, it will also ask you what language do you wanna hear during gameplay its either in Japanese or English
I wonder why did Namco didn't include that feature in the English version
(The Japanese version has better voice acting in my opinion 😁✌️)
Yeah but the English voice talent is surprising.
Elizabeth Conway is voiced by the VA who voiced Mai in Yu-Gi-Oh and Capt. Rush is voiced by someone from Dragon Ball
@@error_404.69 That someone is Christopher Sabat, voice of Vegeta, Piccolo, Yamcha, Vegito, Guru, Shenron, Mr. Popo, Turtle, Nappa, and Korin from Dragon Ball Z :)
@@Phantom.Gaming64 Thanks, the name escaped me
@@error_404.69 No problem 😉
awesome
I finished the whole game earlier December 22 2021
Recently went to an arcade which had the DX Cabinet of this game, the original projector TVs of the cabinet are still alive however it had issues to the gun controllers, the screen brightness, and the speaker of both cabinets are broken except the speaker from the Voice Recognition System which is very loud. Another local arcade from another mall in my hometown has both Time Crisis 2 and the Time Crisis 4 normal SD Cabinets which has small inch LCD TVs. The only issue is both speakers are broken and the LCD TVs had broken colors, while the TC2 cabinet had an issue to the P2 side screen. The only Time Crisis 4 cabinet i played that is completely fixed is from another local arcade in another mall in my hometown, which has the normal SD Cabinets.... *sigh* Arcade operators these days, they should repare these legendary games 🤦♂️
Yes, keep it up (Attack it wheel 1 again)
Interlaced goodness :D
Yep, was kinda disappointed when this game didn’t even run in 480p 31khz resolution. :D
This is so nostalgic. Thanks for uploading this, man.
Also I’ve got the question - what is the best possible way to emulate TC4? Can the original arcade version be emulated nowadays or I do need to emulate the PS3 version of it?
Hello my friend, were you able to emulate it somehow?
Yellow Button : TIME CRISIS 4 arcade DLX
15:58 my favorite part
when i played this in the arcade and got to the helicopter part, my hands felt so numb from the recoil
Stage 2 boss fight is bloody comical hahah
time crisis 4!
I watched both your Giorgio & Evan gameplay. Is the audio really split like that after you recorded? When Rush speaking, Giorgio's side always in left side of speaker, when Evan's side is right.
The game uses the voice navigation as a third audio channel, it’s not as straightforward to record three analog audio channels on a stereo audio card. The voice channel is also in mono.
reload! Action!
Evan Bernard (ALLY Green)
I miss that game.
In some of the local arcades in my country still have the game, most of them were replaced by LCD TVs and some of them still have the CRT projectors. But the main problem is that the gun sensors are broken (some of them like the mall i went three weeks ago)
namco system 256 JAMMA arcade VGA connected to a monitor with a vga interface has a video signal but the image quality is terrible. If I connect a Sony smart TV with an HDMI interface, there is no video signal on the screen.

Aim for the tires! Yeah we did it!
People died bruh
PS3 with Guncon 3📺🎮🔫
Imo, on rpcs3 it looks a lot better cause you can make it high res without the awful aliasing of the arcade...but if we could only disable the cursor like in the arcade it will be a lot better.
All boss kill attack
34:58 wild dog: eat this!
try shooting the cars and jeeps to get extra points and use the grenade for the missiles
I’ll keep that in mind when I do a second gameplay :)
@@FIGHTERSCHOICEArcade let me know and i will be in touch
would you happen to know if the arcade screen of this game used a crt or an LCD screen?
They originally use either CRTs (for the normal cabs) or projection TVs (for the DX cabs), however, you can use a modern flatscreen TV, (max 50”) as the tech TC4 uses isn’t technically relying on old optical tech the older games used.
@@FIGHTERSCHOICEArcade i see thank you! what is the tech its using then if you happen to know if its not motion tracking like wii or optical like the PS2 games? is it camera based like the sinden gun or?
10 IR led emitter pcbs and a sensor in the gun, extremely similar tech the Wii and PS3 GUNCON 3 use.

How about Time Crisis 5?
He still has to buy the arcade cabinet for it lol
its not even out on any console yet, which is really suprising lol.
@@ps123fan Unless it pulls a House of the Dead 4 (took 7 years to get to console), then it may never get released for home console. I have a feeling Scarlet dawn will definitely never come out for home consoles.

The gameplay in TC4 is so slow and going at a snail pace compared to the breakneck speed of TC3 and TC2. The pacing is so slow in TC4; it just feels way less action packed and gimmicky than previous games in the series.
I actually like it. Feels very different and I actually had fun recording this gameplay. :)
Not going to lie though, I really don’t like the “terrabite” sequences. I feel like I’m playing some sort of alien light gun game rather than TC lol!
@@FIGHTERSCHOICEArcade yeah. The terror bite enemy is like from the house of the dead or vampire night. It absolutely doesn't fit with Time Crisis.
time crisis 4 arcade graphics is still like PS2, but the game was ported to PS3....
The arcade hardware that’s TC4 used (Namco System super 256) is still PlayStation 2 based although with some unspecified upgrades. But yeah, Namco decided to port the game to the PlayStation 3.
@@FIGHTERSCHOICEArcade okay, thanks for your information. imagine if TC4 was ported to PS2, instead PS3 😀
@@FIGHTERSCHOICEArcade Another reason is because the PS3 was already released in that time (they released it by 2008 for the consoles)
I wonder if they make a Wii port as well like The House of the Dead 2 and 3. The graphics will be the same as the ome in arcade i think but who knows 🤷♂️
I actually planned to make an unofficial PS2 port of the game, if only i could port it through reverse engineering
