Good tips. Regarding mustache. Rather than trim I just trained it to each side as it grew with the help of wax. It was annoying but the result a year later has given me a great thick mustache. So it's up to the grower but I say let the Stache grow! Not to mention as my wife has said it's not pokey. Since there aren't any sharp ends to it! Just my 2 cents!
You definitely need wax if you want to grow out your mustache. I'm getting to the point where I just need to use it for practical reasons too, not just for style :)

Nice beard mine is somewhat same length and shape, but i really think a big moustache on top makes it a much better look, so im letting it grow,.

I've always trimmed it like you do it. And yes its kinda nasty when the hairs are beginning to grow over the lip but u cant scramble an egg without breaking it.
But they get into your mouse while you eat. And forget kissing that lady.

Dude. Dude. Dude. You gotta try the 3 attachment. On the beard trimmer for over lip. Perfect length get the full but not the length. At least for me that is.
I'm 14 and have had a neat little mustache for a lil while but just noticed like 6 hairs on my chin😂 my dad had a beard so i guess i have good genes when it comes to this so i figured i'd start early with knowing how to do this kind of shit
I just got a Remington trimmer today. I'll be trimming up the beard for the first time in about 10 months of growing it out.

I usually smile then trim the overhanging hairs, because I smile a lot, and then use scissors to randomly trim the tips so it looks more natural and not so straight cut.
Pretty much the same routine I use on my nards.

If I wanted to grow my beard longer, what's the benefits of trimming it as opposed to just letting it grow on it's own? Doesn't trimming it slow it down since you're removing hair ?
It does, but trimming just the stray hairs keeps everything looking clean.

If you’re trying to grow a long beard, the last thing you want to do is trim it. You are merely setting yourself back, & it’ll take a lot longer to reach your goal.
I’ll take an extra month or two to not have a beard that looks like a straggly mess the whole time I’m growing it.

If you groom it properly, you shouldn’t have any issues. All I do is comb, oil, then balm, & my beard doesn’t looks scraggly at all, & I haven’t trimmed it since I’ve been growing, five months in. If trimming works for you, that’s great, there nothing wrong with that. Doesn’t look like you really took anything off anyway, which is how it should be trimmed. Just saying, if someone’s goal is a long beard, trimming too much too often will set you back big time.

I'm letting mine grow out long and crazy. Going for that Santa Claus look (yup, it's grey) or scary biker "don't screw with me" presence even though I don't have the requisit beer belly -- I do pump iron and I'm a fitness nut even at 65. So yeah ... there you got it. Thanks for the vid though.

Every guy will be different. Average is 1/2 in per month. I'd hit this in 2-3 months whereas my coworker took 4-5 months.

if you could show how to trim the top sideburns that'd be even more helpful I always get lost on how to fade that into the rest of the beard.
How often do you get your hair cut? I go about every 2-3 weeks and have my barber fade it in. At home I just take care of the stray hairs.

Gent's Lounge its been 10 months, my sister and brother keep saying I look like a middle eastern person. almost about to just go to a barber n have it trimmed down so I can start trimming it after. and then let it grow again.
Just go to a barber and have him "clean it up and shape it" He will keep the length in the right places and it will look 10X better.
