Yeah, he wanted two card slots, a vertical grip and better AF. This update is basically the Fro-pack for the Z6/Z7.
Who cares how many processors it’s got inside? Or what it’s called?
I thought he was amusing to start with, but this anti-Nikon thing is just stupid. So they didn’t give him a pre-production model to test - is he surprised?

Terribly silly review. Nikon irons out the Z models and people are STILL crying? Dual card slots, faster dual processing and grip and a great pair of cameras are now even better. AF is already tested and better.
We had all types of hype on the two slots ---- you got it. Two processors --- you got it. 3.5 times more buffer --- you got it. 14 frames per second --- you got it. 50% better focus in low light ---- you got it. Less black-out between shots --- you got it. 4k @ 60 ---you got it. Reversible focus ring --- you got it. Functioning grip -- you got it. Working snap-bridge --- you got it. The best colors in the camera industry --- you got it. Also a new more powerful, long lasting battery --- you got it. Largest mount in the comparable cameras market --- you got it. Better auto focus --- you got it. Sounds like a no-brainer to me --- YOU GET IT!
is it comparable to canon r5 or r6?

I love Nikon, yes biased AF... I think their images are beautiful, the ergonomics and controls are fantastic and their lense technology incredible. Do they have room for improvement absolutely but this is a company that makes a great product. Your constant negative reviews are damaging and lack a full understanding of the real capabilities of the product. Example you complaining about them putting two processors, so what, why the hell not?! Are you a goddam expert in chip technology?
Same here. I just like to use Nikons, ever since Nikkormats. And like driving your classic car, due to passion and nostalgia, I just like to take out one of these screw AF D-lenses for a day on the road. There.

Nikon Z6 SHINES! I'm a pro shooter, after multi year intensive use of Sony A7Ri, A7S, A7Rii, A7iii.... all too fragile, and the Nikon sensor and colour ? superb !
I'm looking at finally getting a new camera for wildlife photography/nature photography and have been considering the A7rii. Anyone else notice this channel is starting to sound like the discontinued cable show call "MANswers"? It may be time to discontinue viewing this too....a bit heavy on the whining for me these days.
To me that look like 2 fantastic cameras with no shortcomings. Since they "just" fixed the things which bothered people, they did not offend their Z6 and Z7 customers. The 2 processors may also be much more effective - not only because of double the processing power, but also because of better cooling (large surface).
And: two processors are better for redundancy. Similar to two card slots. I think it's time to talk bad about canon for having only one processor 😂
To me they look like fine offerings for 2018.. definitely not a reason to buy into a system in 2020. Nikon has been far behind.. they really need a homerun right about now, not a base hit.
@@TizOnly1 agreed - I think they could be in serious trouble if these cameras don't catch people's imagination. I hope the reviews are good.
Nikon is much much better than expensive and overheating cameras 👍Nikon did a good job to produce a mirror less camera during this pandemic with less work force and in this recession time for professional photographers👍
This is fantastic news for us budget conscious individuals because. New z6 ii and z7 ii means current z6 and z7 should see an awesome price drop and sale prices at the end of the year. If you've been waiting for a z6 or z7 I think Christmas sale this year will be the time to buy!

Nikon has the best files, but also the best grip and ergonomics for large hands. I could not live with Sony because of poor ergonomics and inferior color to Nikon .In 2 to 3 years, Nikon will have amazing lenses? People do not understand how powerful the larger flange will be,!
Michael
N
Nikon hasn't proven the advantage of the large flange though. Until I see a 24-70 f/1.8 zoom, I'm not convinced that a large mount helps with making faster glass.
The larger flange means the angle the light has to travel to reach the sensor from the periphery is less acute and therefore less distortion. More of the light rays will reach the sensor without having to bend as much- less distortion.
Michael
@@michaelc.kushlan7956 Hmmm I see. That makes sense.
@@professionalpotato4764 better, not faster.

Unless you're Andre The Giant.
I can attest that the S glass is wonderful. Honestly it doesn't read well on a spec sheet but that 50 1.8 is BLISS it's heart achingly wonderful. They are already making the best quality glass, its just that it doesnt have the 'specs' on paper: Lighest, fastest, largest aperture, most expensive, cheapest, most expensive etc. Just are just brain fizzingly joyous to use, joy something that appears to be lacking in every 'influencers' tool kit for the last 12 months.
Jared get over it , everything people wanted they got , Nikon used same bodies to save money , and for the dual expeed processor
Same thing price , i think its a good job Nikon has done . As for autofocus the current z series has really good focus now yes its not as fast as Sony and Canon but Nikon autofocus was always behind as long as i been shooting Nikon 38 yrs and it was suffice enough
Great job Nikon! This is exactly what we've been waiting for. Excellent ergonomics and handling, best in the business colour science, a great EVF, fantastic lenses, and for the series II: improved autofocus , two card slots, and a proper grip.
The absurd claim that the Z 1.8 primes aren't 'professional' is fortunately seen for what it is (ridiculous) by most. The Z 1.8 primes are sharper and better than the F 1.4 primes, including sharper edge to edge, and they are perfectly acceptable for professionals to use. The only real benefit that 1.2 primes will provide is a slightly shallower depth of field, but comes with the disadvantages of much higher weight and price.
One thing people don't realise regarding 2 card slots: one XQD/CFe card is more reliable than two SD cards, due to the inbuilt error checking in XQD/CFe. They are like a mini SSD.
Of course the 1.8 s's are good, but 1.4 and 1.2 S will be even better.....they aren't even out yet. You can't compare them to 1.4's because they don't exist either.

Y’all don’t have to watch the video 🤷🏽♂️
You do know that at heart, Jared is now a Sony person. He made a whole video on how he sold his entire Nikon kit about ~2-3 years ago... I get the sense that while some argue that what the Z II is now should have been the Z on day one, people (both Canon and Sony people) are on the defense because Canon's 8k over promised, and under performed, and Sony delivered some, well, unexciting updates this year.... an A7C that's the same size as an a6000, and the A7S III.
Jared, single handedly keeping the lights on at the highlighter factory.
100%!!!!
@Duke_Of_Hammertime TV My theory is that Jared highlights everything in order to get more contrast. In that case, it would make more sense to just use yellow paper.
Now that is funny
Assuming it's a check off.
That’s a really good price for the Z6ii/Z7ii, was expecting a price increase.
Given the fact that the Z7 II is the same price as the a7r IV and the Z6 II is actually more expensive than the a7 III - no, they aren't priced well.
@@youknowwho9247 the price varies between locations and the price would just be going down in months following.
@@youknowwho9247 MSRP price never lasts long. A7R4 msrp was $3500. A7iii msrp was same as Z6/Z6ii. Let’s see if Sony releases the A7iv at $1999, I think it’ll be about 20% more.
Jared I don’t think these are designed to be flagships, these are what I would call prosumer. The Z9 and 880 will be the flagships
I have to say the "really Nikon..Thats it" is complete clickbait! Nikon is stepping up here and addressing most if not all the issues with there first generation mirrorless. Both of these look really decent and if you are already invested in Nikon are very promising! I have been full time shooter for 30 years and happy with my D850 but will be interested to try out one these second generation mirrorless!
Rubbish video. Even a non-photographer can read spec sheet & talk these novice stuff. A photographer like you should know that there is nothing except pro sports that these cameras can’t achieve. It no longer lacks any critical feature for any genre of photography unless you want to shoot Olympics with them. We don’t need photographer to read specs for us. These cameras are improved in subtle ways that make them much more capable than meets the eye. To name only few: 900 sec long exposure, firmware update through snapbridge, Timelapse providing raw images as well, USB-C power delivery even while streaming through web utility software, battery grip with controls, hot swappable battery grip, additional USB-C on grip so that one can be used for power & other for tethering/software connect, more buffer, dual card slot, faster frame rate, eye AF in video, Eye AF in wide mode, dual processor, 4K 60, multiple exposure with previous shot image in card, etc. etc. CZcamsrs start talking about camera in few minutes of launch without carefully studying details.
So true, they just look at the specs, no new sensor? bad, no change in body? bad, no 4k120? bad, no 8K, bad? After all its no longer about what a camera can do well, its all about matching the specs of the competitor, nothing about how they perform better than competition with the specs that they have
I guess they want a camera that can wipe their ass and flip pancakes too
After owning both Sony and Canon mirrorless full frame cameras I still love the Z6/Z7 every time I use them. I went and looked at the Z5 last weekend and it really felt cheap and not worth it at all compared to the Z6. I will be keeping my eye out for cheap Z6s now that V2 has been released. A $1,000 Z6 sounds good to me.
I rented a Z6 a few weeks ago and was impressed. I am planning on getting the Z6ii, but if Z6 prices drop that low, I may get that instead. However, I do like the idea of being able to use the cheaper UHSD cards that I already have. I only have the one XQD card I had to buy to shoot the rented Z6.
@@flipfilms1759 once the Z6ii starts getting out and the Sony A7iv is announced you will find the Z6 at around $1000. Right now you can find them at $1300 used and $1400 grey market new. I'll give it the end of the year.
I picked up the Nikon Z5 to be my main camera for weddings and my Z6 as my back up. I truly can’t tell the difference and feel. I don’t know why you think it feels cheap, but maybe I didn’t notice. But I’m gonna tell you if you’re just using the Z5 for photography you will never tell the difference between it and the Z6.
There is 0 difference in feel with the Nikon Z5 to the Z6. It's the exact same ergonomics and materials on the outside. Every other person who has reviewed the Z5 says it feels the exact same lol.
@@RiposteThis Well I was at Best Buy and they were next to each other and if you knew nothing about cameras and there were no prices on them you would know right away the Z5 was a much cheaper camera. Even the minute you pick them up you can feel the cold on the Z6 that you barely feel on the Z5. Have you actually used, touched and seen both of them or are you just hypothesizing bases on what other people have said because if you haven't your comment is worthless.
Superior image files are kind of the point of all this. Quicker AF would be nice, but I wouldn't trade the image quality for it.
How do you know af and general responsiveness is not improved? It has dual processors.
As a D850 user, I now have a reason to go to the Z system, which was Nikon's point in the first place.
I actually love when your videos get released. I have never been into photography massively until recently and I have to say your channel has made me love it even more and get really serious about what I am doing with photography. Thank you for all the fun! From the UK
I have the z6, picked up the z50, and just got the z5 and I love them all. Think I will add the z7ii to my collection. The z5 is in my opinion the best out of the 3 for photography. It seems to focus quicker and find the eyes better then my z6. That Being said you can’t go wrong with with all three of them for photography. But for video the Z6
I knew he’d find a way to crap on this.
That's all he does
@@Taz86 that's all I do!!!
@@Taz86 I don’t get it, because it’s not even funny anymore. This addresses a lot of issues. If the eye AF is significantly improved, what is there to complain about?
Jared tells it how it is. appreciate his videos and doesn’t sugarcoat anything.
You really think the eye af will improve? Nikon is behind in all things mirrorless and all they did to respond to the Canon R5/6 is very minor updates. It is like an Olympus E-M10 IV which was basically the same as a III which was basically the same as a II. Just because he has been hard on Nikon doesn't make him wrong. Even if it is upsetting.
Come on Jared, 2x Expeed 6 is more than enough to match a new 1DX processor from Canon in terms raw processing power.
I think he was referring to more than just processing power. For example they're still stuck with 8-bit internal recording which is a possible limitation of the processor used. A new processor would have allowed them to go 10-bit like almost all of the other cameras that have been released recently.
So Nikon has two bodies which offer a far better user experience than any Sony and better images and is cheaper than thr equivalent Canons. Seems like a winner to me.
Nikon ain't that bad as CZcamsrs say they are ! The quality you get is better than the others !
Launch Summary: two cards slots, increased buffer, more intelligence, two cards slots, largest mount.

@@willyuan1 lol
Thanks. How's the video on the z6s (z6 ll)? Might preorder one
@Gap 0.95 is manual focus. when i mean slowest is they don’t have many 1.2 lenses
This fixation with "more, more, more!" is getting tiring, especially from CZcamsrs who say from the other side of their mouth, "The gear matters but it's not the most important thing." Ok, I haven't used the R5/A9II AF, so you did say I lacked context, but after using autofocus cameras for a year or two or a lot more, I like that it is there but also work at a pace that other cameras manage.
For the numbering, I think Nikon decided that either numbers in the series, with the "s" for intermediate updates, would work, or they needed to switch completely to II/III/... Otherwise, what would the next cameras be? Z7t and Z6t?
Overall, I think reviewers are whining about this too much. Most people with Nikon bodies will either
1. Keep their Z6/Z7
2. Keep their DSLRs
3. Switch from their DSLRs to the Z6II/Z7II
4. Switch from the Z6/Z7 to Z6II/Z7II.
The 2 card slots, vertical grip option, and two processors make all #3/4 easier to do.
Don’t think there will be any Nikon product getting any positive feedback here.
oh really? How many times do I have to say the files are the best off a Nikon?
@@froknowsphoto I don't see you constantly comparing Sony and Canon on their videos and keep talking about how they have not caught up with Nikon in image quality? When it comes to Nikon, you always want to have a reason to crap on them. You always say their AF needs to catch up. And now when they caught up, you have new things to crap on Nikon. Shame on you!
Nikon did a great job at keeping the new mirrorless system up to date in record time and this upgrade was very necessary, I can't wait for the rumored z9
We see only minor changes in all cameras still we use the editor for photos.
Nikon built its reputation in recent years on four things about its DSLRs 1. Best image quality (shared with Sony), best handling (shared with Canon) best build quality and best autofocus (shared with nobody!). The new Zs are intended to restore those qualities to its foray into the mirrorless market. If Nikon achieves that, job done and the future will be bright, particularly if the proposed pro-spec Z9 takes this progress another step further.
Sadly Nikon Z6ii and Z7ii do not deliver the expectations. By the time Z9 comes out, Sony and Canon will introduce something similar.
@@chanjeff4406 Mmmmm......I doubt it. I don’t have any attachment to any particular brand (unlike this and some other CZcams commentators) and have used and owned Olympus, Pentax, Canon, Nikon and more recently, Panasonic. What I do know is that Nikon produced the pinnacle of DSLR cameras in the D850. I can see no reason why they won’t do the same with mirrorless now they are fully invested in it. If, and I know it’s unproven yet, Nikon have developed class-equalling (or leading) AF in the Z II s, then I think the whole package would be an amazing achievement for such a late entry into this market. Sony need to sort their poor handling and Canon some of their quality/technical issues or I see Nikon slowly regaining the premier position they once occupied.
@@davidbowman6740 mirrorless is a different story. Sony and Canon have invested much more time on mirrorless than Nikon. Surely Nikon will improve but the question is can Nikon leapfrog the others in the mirrorless game. As for the AF, we have yet to see if the Z II catch up with Sony A7S3 and Canon R5/R6 so it is too early to draw a conclusion. Btw Sony has improved a menu and used a new screen design on A7S3, but Nikon Z6ii/Z7ii get stuck on the original design.
Disclaimer: I am a Nikon user.
@@chanjeff4406 it’s true that Nikon has been playing catch up but they do know how to make a photographer’s camera. Having handled most of the current mirrorless options, with a view to deciding which to invest in, the Zs just felt right in my hands. For my style of photography, which is wildlife, the AF is critical. Interestingly, Matthieu Gasquet, who is the most neutral and reliable tester of mirrorless cameras for birds in flight, found the Z6 to be the 2nd most capable for AF (and he’s tested them all) only marginally behind the Sony A9 II. Yet, to listen to the CZcamsrs you wouldn’t think it. That’s the advantage of listening to someone who spends the time to properly set up a camera and has the skill to use it. So, with dual processors and updated algorithms, it seems reasonable to assume that the Z II s will be a bit special. Throw in the stunning quality of the new S lenses and I’m very tempted.
@@davidbowman6740 We all have our preferences on the selection of cameras. Happy to know that the Z6 and Z system serve you well.

@@darkerarts Canon RF lenses do not fit Canon M bodies. The Canon mirrorless system is disjointed.
@@RobertoPavan I didn't say M range, did I numb nuts. You can use EF (full frame) on the EF-S mount, which is the APS-C, or cropped. The R range don't have a cropped sensor yet.
I own two Z6 cameras, battery packs, 70-200 f2.8, 24-70 f2.8 & 85mm f1.8, I shoot weddings, yeah with one card slot, completely confident, absolutely no problems. I use eye detect and tracking options all the time don't really miss any frame which is out of focus. The files are great, colours, quality, etc. Loads of great systems out there, Canon, Sony, etc doing a brilliant job....and? I get great results and my clients are very happy. No need to upgrade to this new tweaked range of cameras, the Z6 still does a brilliant job for me and I am not worried about any price drop in resale as I am too busy taking photographs with my existing kit. I will be happy to wait another two years for the Z9
Can’t wait to see it tested! Hoping it’s vastly improved! I’m still gonna (impatiently) wait for the z9 or z8. Excited about the addition of the 400mm and 600mm s line for sure!
You are 100% it’s not only that it’s old technology, but expensive as a system for what it does.
“I’m a Nikon lover” could have fooled me the last 5 years.
Right? This addressed most of the issues with the Z cameras and he’s still dumping on it. It’s weird because the whole thing depends on the autofocus. If it’s dramatically improved, what else are you even looking for in a camera?
Really? I shot Nikon up until 1 year ago.
@@DieHardEddieEdwards address the problem you had 2 yrs ago when other are moving is called being a sloth... Nikon is always a step back competition. If you are a pro and not just a fan you go for the best, not for the team you spend your emotions in.
@@GabrieleNunnari Most pros dont buy brand new bodies every other week or switch systems on a whim like CZcams suggests.
I still shoot the D850 because it’s an excellent camera and the Z bodies weren’t good enough. If the autofocus is up to par, I’ll upgrade.
I need a camera with quality autofocus, two card slots and decent video. What else are you looking for these cameras to do?
@@n1ngnuo This. The autofocus was legitimately inferior. If it’s better, I dont get the negative tone of the video. You’ve got the grip, the slots and potentially superior autofocus. Maybe it’s not enough for Jared to switch back to Nikon, but if it’s good, it’s good.
I think the Z7ii looks a lot better especially with the video improvements. Very small crop when shooting 4K, and hopefully if the AF has improved it'll be a reasonable option for the wildlife photography I do and the video shooting I'm interested in exploring. A grip and dual card slots are really getting me close to wanting to pull the trigger on this. :)
Jared, you're probably making too big a deal about the name -- being mark II. Nikon could just be changing their naming convention, where the next models could be mk III, mk IV and so on. If they'd called it the Z6s/Z7s, what would the next models be? Z8/Z9? Apparently there is already a Z9 in the works which will be more akin to the Sony Flagship, A9.
I love how your sheet of notes is completely covered in highlighter, instead of just the points needing highlighting.
What a joke this channel has become!!!
He’s a sell out
Probably sponsored by Sony! Terribly biased
Hey Jared. I just bought these luts today and I really have to say they're absolutely amazing. The quality I'm getting out of my images is dope!
Nikon for ever .... And stop cry all you need they give you with this models at least they dont overheading like sony and canon
OVERHEADING?! I have four Sony camera bodies and none of them OVERHEAD!
Jared, you have not a clue.
I'm waiting patiently for Nikon to up their game in the video realm but now I'm getting over it!
Canon user here, I sympathise with Nikon because we may be headers for few month, every body is forgetting the the last 8 years of bashing.( since 5dmkIIi).I personnaly think 2021 will be a canon/nikon year (z9/r1)!!!
So unimpressed by the Z6 II particularly. It's the video camera of the bunch, and the only _actual_ improvement it gets to its output is some garbage crop factor 4k60 that isn't even in the firmware yet? Very glad I pulled the trigger on the original Z6 last year.
These should totally be "S" models - I don't get the "II" decision. Least of my concerns these days. :)
I think this is a generous list of improvements & additions to two already great cameras. That said, I'm super happy with my Z6, no urgency to upgrade. Maybe spring 2021, depending on promotions / price drops. I'll invest in some glass in the meantime - the 20 1.8 and the 85 1.8 🤓
Hope that the Z6 and Z7 mark II do well...
Im a Canon Shooter, but we need competition between 3 brands to get the industry going.... We need that camera trinity of Sony, Canon and Nikon..
What no phone call from Nikon PR ?? ..
Love the "HeMan I Shoot Raw" just a bit more than the "Not Quite a Film Maker" shirt.
Good preview Fro.
He won’t stop until he gets a floppy screen and a 120hz evf...
It's well known throughout this video it's basically what he's trying to do right now..
@@SkyCourage-Studios why are your even bothering with this clown.
Has it been confirmed the EVF is 60 hz?
I don't like Jared that much, I think his opinions are to brash and even too harsh sometime. He is sometime (often) too focused on his own needs over what other photographers really want or need. I watch him because it his a quick way to get a lot of news and rumors without having to look for it myself.
But he explicitly said in the video that he don't care about a flip screen...
@@showdaKOs you need Jared for your news, the guy is useless, did you watch long enough for him to get paid.
I need to go back and see if you criticize sony and canon for the same things you are criticizing nikon for.
But Canon and Sony don't have the flaws, which the Nikon Z have.
When Canon had their flaws and they dumbed down their cameras he mentioned and did not toned down, he is honest that hurts most people
@@darekm6859 It is certainly OK, if a consumer / hobbyist / family daddy camera has just one card slot. Everyone agrees that it would stink a little, if a camera in such a market segments was dumbed down because of having 1 slot.
But two card slots is a must (a hard criteria) for most professional photography domains. Especially for non-repeatable events (such as weddings).
A camera which Nikon wants to be considered by pros, but has only 1 card slot, deserves a thumb down, if not even a sh'tstorm. Such as the Z6 and Z7. But I remember faintly that one French Nikon manager said once, that the Z were not aimed at professionals but only at consumers. But then Nikon should have made this more clearly in their communications.
@@tubularificationed lol don't be blind.. watch other reviewers .. in dpreview test.. autofocus tracking of r5 in not that great.. in video Camera Conspiracies reviews it on hands and the autofocus fail more than the R.. even here Fro Retardo test, Sony A7r4 tracking missed more than the z7.. no flaws eh? lol
Did you meanwhile get one of the cams to test? Many other CZcamsrs have received some from Nikon (only for a few hours though). I‘d like to hear your hands-on opinion.
As always, the best in the business, THANK YOU
What more does it need? Just use it first, the improvements may on the surface look small but if it’s faster autofocus, better dynamic range, better grip and 2 cards it may just be what DSLR shooters need to jump over. Puts it pretty close to the R5/6 to me. Who needs 2 seconds of 8K?

Going to pre-order the Z 6II maybe this weekend? Don't want to see Nikon go away, competition is always good. I think they should have gone with either two CFExpress type B slots, or one type A and one type B, but it is what it is.
Maybe chat to Ricci next time so you can get all the correct spec details.

Reliable is the reason I keep using Nikon for more than 15 years, I know it doesn’t as good as Sony (or Canon, or whatever else) in the performance, but at least, I have no need to worry about the shutter will break down after 20k shoots, like Sony 🤣
Those dual processors have the potential for future development of AF just like the Z6 and 7 had extra features added over time. Room to grow
As much as I love my Z6, I do agree that Nikon is still 2 years behind the pack. They just need to release the rest of the lenses soon! I was really hoping for a flippy screen on the Z6II. Other than that, it's a nice update. Do you remember when the D3 was announced and then the D3s and D3x was announced? How was the reaction back then?
So the smallest company is a generation behind but still building absolutely viable cameras for 95% of photographers.
Much Better autofocus and 4K 60 full-frame is minimum. No 4K 60 yet and probably not full frame, no 4K 120 that would be super.
@@axm2689 Like all the other company, the question is more about, can you sell them.
"Nikon is still 2 years behind the pack"? What? Nikon is slightly behind in eye AF. That's it.
There is no pixel shift mode but why? Hardware is there and they had the time.
...because Nikon.
Hey jared,
Which one would you prefer between D850 and Z7ll?
I’m going for the Z space 6II. Preordered last night. Regarding the FPS, from what I’ve read in the disclaimers on a couple of sites, restricting you to 12-bit raw only seems to apply to the achieving the full 124 shot buffer capacity, but not necessarily the frame rate. So I’m cautiously optimistic that means you can get 14 fps with 14-bit raw. I’ve also read that you can get 12 fps with all other focus modes standard so that sounds like a pretty decent improvement to me in terms of frame rate performance Over it’s predecessor.
I’m a current D500 shooter doing sports, family and events as my side hustle. Been holding out for whatever came first - either the next gen 6/7 or the 9. But I can’t wait to get into the z system.
I’ll probably still hold onto my D500 just because that’s an amazing camera in its own right. Will probably sell a couple lenses to offset some of the cost of the 6II and Z 24-70 2.8 I just ordered.

“Two of an older processor” -- ridiculous complaint
Kai w was sent a camera to review
Coz Kai is not a comercial Sony guy like Jared.
I'll wait to hear about the Z 6II AF. I am standing by to know when you have test one Jared.
Jared, this was informative and, from my perspective, much better because the negative overtones were mellowed. You stayed with your Fro quirkiness, gave me facts (and some opinion, which is the good part of your quirky delivery). Good to see more of the old Fro. PS. I like the banter with Stephen. Later Dude.
Nikon is leading the industry in innovation....said noone ever.
the writing is on the wall for Nikon
In terms of dslrs yes (d850, d500, d1...) But mirrorless they are a bit behind...and I'm about to buy a d500 and may buy a d780 at the same time
Think you're conflating the 'S' with different model number - it's like an apples/oranges thing. If the camera was called a z650 then a z650s would make more sense than a z750. I think 's' and 'II' is the same thing personally. Just wait til the z666 comes out - may be a world -ender
Olympus you have to plug camera in with a special cable! I am still going to just use my Z 50, love that, but what I am waiting for is the Z 200-600mm lens!
Jared Polin, I love your reviews and eagerly waiting for your Hands on reviews on Z6 ii and Z7 ii....please make it fast....😁😁👍
I want a stabilized Nikon Z Lens.
U have 70-200 :D
I want Nikon to allow third-party lenses like Sigma and Tamron to start making Z lenses that auto focus!!

Love for Nikon ❤️❤️
I really can't help but feel like this is the Sony a7ii all over again. Definitely an improvement but really doesn't feel revolutionary. (Cause it isn't) I'm just happy Nikon is still working on this. I wanna see them back on top like Canon is right now. Hopefully next generation they really step it up.
What about external 12 bit RAW video in Blackmagic RAW format? We should buy Blackmagic recorder or Atomos will do it?
The specs are great. Nikon has improved. But the humor in this video is still like third grade.
Have to disagree. I own a Z6 and I am pretty disappointed with this 2 year improvement. Nothing really new is getting introduced here. 2 card slots should have been there from the beginning as well as a grip and usbc charging. New processors are nice if it weren't the old ones. Video pretty much remains the same and will probably suffer from the same rolling shutter and pixel skipping. you even need to unlock stuff via firmware updates. ah and there is a dx crop on 40k 60, not even fullframe. Can't judge the autofocus yet, but if that's not a 180 degree turn for the better idk... Pretty much the only thing this update does is devalue my Z6.
Amazing how the top two camera reviewers are so grating in their own way. Many better and worthwhile opinions out there without the lame gags and try hard clickbait titles.
They will catch up with all those lost Professional fanboys..2 exspeed processors,2 card slots..but Eye Autofocus..Nikon could have put more effort in developing their AF algorithm
You still know nothing how it will perform
@@OmarIskandarone i believe it is very good for the colour and quality it produces
@@AKHILESHVANAM I thought you were critical of the AF even before anyone knows anything about it. I believe it will be a great camera and if the AF didn't improve than there is no point for having a second processor
@@OmarIskandarone i know about Nikon Colours and Quality..its the autofocus which was lagging in comparision..in my country many who bought Sony a7 iii have come back to z6 Nikon for image output..eventhough little behind Nikon could have done enough Homework to mend their deficiencies..may be nothing new..but definitely better..which will drive the sales
Hi Jared a very clear and comprehensive video . I agree, it would be a pity if Nikon's Focus Tracking does not keep up with Sony or Canon. I shoot Nikon DSLR and I am thinking of moving over to Z system but there would be no point to do so if they are behind the two rivals. I will wait and see your reviews on the Z6 & 7ii's before I make my decision . Please keep up the great work stay safe, all the best.
What you’re saying about not realizing how far the AF is behind the others is exactly what I thought when I used Pentax and tried out a D7200 in a store. I hope that Nikon doesn’t let it come to that.
My d850 is still holding up solid
Yes. Nikon D850 is a solid camera but this may also imply that the Z7ii is not an attractive upgrade after all...
Well even my D600 is doing fantastic.
