@@mosrite60 The Bluegrass Album Band was never a full time band. JD...Doyal and Tony all had their own bands. I saw the Tony Rice Unit several times and JD Crowe and the New South several times during the time that the TBAB was active.

Doyle's best band IMO
Russell Moore, Mike Rogers, Jamie Dailey, Steve Gulley, John Bowman… Doyle Lawson had so many of the greatest tenors in bluegrass.
And now Steve is gone on to be with the good Lord. That tenor voice rings free in Heaven!

If you watch alot of Doyle Lawson videos, read his bio, he had all the good guys in his band at some point. I wish Russell was in better shape now.

This must be shortly after the "Bluegrass Album Band" dissembled i.e. Tony Rice group. Doyle played mandolin with the band. mos60
I saw them around then with this lineup at Edale Bluegrass Festival.
