From a German perspective, Harry Kane is not just a good striker, he is a professional player, a Teamplayer. He is not coming here, and just play his style, he try to fit in and understand what the Team need to win. He is so humble and when u heard him after the game, he is more like a manager who understand the game really good. I can't find the English words to describe him accurately, hope u got my points :-) Love to watch your show 😍👌 and got better with my English language 👌
Your English is great! A lot better than my German 😂.
Richtig gut gesagt! Du sollst gar keine Sorgen haben
Wilkomen
Well done to you!! As a South African with German ancestors your English is perfect friend
@@ByronthegoonerA fellow saffa in the comments and you're also a gooner fan? We should be friends.
Totally addicted to this podcast, I'm waiting for it just as much as the games now.
People always talks about Micah's good spirit (for a reason) but everytime he's talking about tactics or alnalyzing the game he's spot on. Top punditry !
Lovely podcast thanks to the three of you
I caught myself waiting for this episode, honestly, you guys are amazing, I can't believe how off-the-charts the chemistry is. Appreciate the work guys.
Same , love the pod
Jude’s celebration is like double Alan’s celebration 🙌🏻
Question for the lads:
The three of you had some great moments as players, but what were some of the best moments that you saw your teammates produce? The most stunning goals, assists, or skills that you had the best spot in the stadium to witness?
I’d say that Gazza would feature predominantly…his free kick in the semi final of the FA cup for Gary, and his goal vs Scotland at Euro 96 for Alan
@@GIBBO4182and I’m guessing Micah would say either aguero vs qpr or yaya in the fa cup final
You have to tweet them
there's so many good football related podcasts now but this is the best one 💙
I just want yous lads to know how much I look forward to listening to this podcast every week. As a young chap In his early 20s I love the the 3 generations of football yous came from and the chemistry and balance of banter and analysis is absolutely outstanding. Such an honest insight into your opinions and stories from the past and present. Keep up the unbelievable work😁
Micah showing up in his Sky Sports clothes shows he cares more about the podcast than his own comfort
Surely his clothes are comfortable whatever he's wearing? Who wears uncomfortable clothes.
@@NECinhoyeah was a bit of a weird comment
You weirdo he was suited and booted by skys makeup team too look good for the cameras.
The English bias for Rashford in the start is ridiculous Rashford this season is no way near good enough for city’s squad, he’s been awful
How profile is literally only big because his PR company organised a few tweets about hungry children on his behalf😂
Love it! Keep it coming boy, man and grand dad!
Pep is like Hovis never get stale he stays fresh with new ideas 😅
Hovis gets stale after 5 days, don’t make sense
I have been waiting for this all day!
Awesome podcast, always love Micah and his take and awesome for him being Arsenal fan!
Man U during the derby reminded me of the first few years after Sir Alex left, lost and out of place with little to no direction. Sad times for their fans yet again, if it gets much worse they’ll be close to understanding what a Sunderland fan feels like 😂
Just came in from my evening stroll and this releases 🥲 gutted. It's the best audio to accompany a walk
go for another one lol
Was released as a podcast early in the morning on Spotify, Apple Podcasts etc. it’s the video that gets released later on in the day or the day after
Under the cosh new videos on Mondays , best footie pod going
Bit sus
Save it for the next one?
Love Micah regurgitating what Carra said on Sunday 😂
Best football podcast around !!!
Absolutely bloody love this podcast I love you guys keep up the work❤
P.
Awesome product guys. Can you please add *timestamps* going forward?
Top quality podcast
Can’t wait for the next one 😊
The foul on Rodri was a very soft penalty, however, Harry Maguire had John Stones in a chokehold which was a stonewall penalty but no one seems to have noticed it
Love this podcast! The best one involving ex players there is.
Dropped perfectly in time for the cardio session!
Alan is right on that, the Bayern team knew that goalkeeper spends a lot of time up the pitch so Kane knew to go for it
Big michs is some boy he just brings so much laughter and joy where ever he is I bet when he had that fella by the throat he was laughing
Already my favourite show this . Think Wrighty and Keano would be a good shout to add to the roster
Laurie Cunningham. Orient legend!
I live in Madrid, and the city was a decidedly happy place today x
John Stones - always rated him. When he was having the difficulty in always wanting to take the ball out of defence rather than hoofing it, and would get caught, it's clear that he has the structure around him to allow him to master that. But I would have loved to see if he would have coped with being in the old sweeper system?
Potentially Marcus Rashford for the Man City team? He shouldn't even be starting for Man United. Lack of effort and passion is ridiculous
love this show. its so entertaining and love the stories from the dressing rooms and training grounds the fans never get to hear. how to submit Questions to the guys for the Questions episodes
I hope Kane comes back to the PL eventually 😢
Manchester united will buy him when he's 38, 21 is coming😂
best pod in the history of football
Well said, Alan. If it's rotten at the top, it inevitably affects the organisation all the way to the bottom. It's so true, and it applies not just to a football club.
The reverse is true as well, the best example being the the current Spurs situation. They're doing well because of the changes at the top and it's rubbing off onto the boys on the pitch.
Yes boys love these 💯
It's not the first time Harry kane has scored from the half way line, he did pre-season 2019 against Juventus and the fact it was Chesney in goal made this even sweeter!!
Didn’t know the lad from corrie was a goalkeeper
Rashford is quality.the shot on the turn when Walker was closing in....very intelligent...but then he needs players of the same level to play with and at City he will definitely have that in abundance
Gary Linekers intro are fantastic!!! 😅😅😅
37:57 Linekar: Alan have you ever scored from your own half?
Shearer: Never, never..never been in my own half 🙈
Spot on about B. Fernandes from Micah
Can we please get Mario Balotelli on? That would be special. Great show btw Lads.
Regarding Micah's point about the squad (usually) being isolated from direct contact with the owners so it may not be as much of a factor for poor play makes sense. But I can see the dysfunction between owners and manager/staff affecting the squad by means of disgruntled staff inadvertently creating a negative atmosphere, since they face uncertainty and have legitimate gripes with the top of the club. The lack of direction and lack of confidence that creates then bleeds onto the pitch. Any player would struggle with spirit fighting for the club if all their support is (rightly) fed up with the top.
Great watch
Amazing three .. wonderful to listen to..keep it coming gents ❤
Early and just in time for the walk 🙌🙌
Love Alan saying cheers after he says goodbye from me and I don’t know why 😂 Found myself doing it with him 🤷🏻♂️
Great podcast. Micah - when you work in a toxic company you'll see how hard it is to be motivated at the office.
His time at villa was toxic
Loving your podcast guys. Talking about the Manchester derby I was surprised that the penalty was given to City at Old Trafford especially being such a soft penalty.
I just like to say I am not a Manchester fan, unfortunately at the moment I am a Sheffield United fan. But I think a major problem with United is the midfield as in most games they do not know what to do when the opposition is attacking and then that causes the defence confusion as they are dragged out of position causing them to make mistakes. And every United defender must have no confidence going into any game. And as for Bruno he is great but he is not great when the team is defending and definitely no captain.
Keep up the great podcasts
I know you couldn't do this podcast without mentioning Bellingham's two goals in El Clasico but up to his 68th min goal to equalise before scoring the winner in the 94th min ,he had a quiet game,Barcelona were the better team hitting the woodwork on two occasions.
Surprised big Meeks didn't highlight the fact that Barcelona's goal was scored, his first in La Liga by İlkay Gündoğan,surely big Meeks can't have forgotten about him already 😀
For a single season, Harry Kane without any doubt
not sure the wine makes Alan better at this.
Gary makes me touch my nose
Gary Linekar "well i'm a bit of a foodie"
Also Gary Linekar "yeah I decided to learn to cook about 7, 8 years ago"
This is the best football podcast in the world
Awesome podcast
Well done, Big Meeks, for repping the Poppy. For a great cause, run by a great charity (The Royal British Legion), doing great work.
Who on earth would you swap out for Rashford in that City side?
Grealish?
@@davidoconnor3201rashford might get a job in the canteen bringing Grealish his dinner. That's about it.
@@NECinhowho tf is radford even replacing in the canteen to begin with?
@@Ball619 Doris the tea lady is due to retire next Summer.
Come on the Foxes you made me cry now talking about it Sir Gary Lineker of The Foxes winning it my god what a season that was - Vichai had a dream indeed 😅
I’m happy the time with var were spoken about
Big Meeks, the problem is the players are also coming in to bad training grounds, places that haven’t had any new blood/life in them. It probably feels like a graveyard.
Think of a neighbourhood that was built 20-30 years ago, it might have been lively then but without any new infrastructure it dies down
Quite enjoy the Bellingham/England Euros chances segment every week 😂
I love you guys, so much content too we're spoilt
This is fast becoming my favourite pod, i love the 3 of you! Such great chemistry. Keep up the great work.
P.S. Always hate when facing Shearer when he was playing! Haha 😂
Could Haaland do what Kane did in the Spurs sides he played in?
Hey guys, great podcast, small question for Micah to ask Gary and Alan "How good was Ginola"?
We all know he was good
Ginola is as good as Raheem Sterling but Ginola is not a world beater like Messi, Cristiano, Ronaldinho or Zidane.
On the audio for this upload, there are some knocking sounds on a very low register. You can hear it in a second or so, at 15:25, when Gary's saying something. Was it Micah's beard hitting his mic? 🤔
Had to keep pausing this video to see if someone was walking around my house at night. 😅
Rashford is so overrated it’s untrue. English bias shining through for sure.
You guys need to add time stamps
My take on VAR is applicable generally with most specialised roles: The more precise and reliable the instruments of measurement become, the more competent the personnel interpreting the data need to be.
The advancement in information is astronomic - Jumping from one instance of witnessing an incident, up to 3 or 4 viewing angles, over a dozen or two replays, at a frame-by-frame speed. That's a HUGE increase of data, and yet we are using the same referees. Just as we look to more technical, more athletic, more professional players to nurture a high level of competition, we ought to look to more knowledgeable, more insightful and more inquisitive referees for better decisions.
The FA and its current refereeing roster might resent it, but the standard has improved and so must they.
Discussion on title/top four contenders and Liverpool aren’t even mentioned. I welcome it to be fair, I enjoy that we’re flying under the radar a bit
John Stones is an elite footballer
I was wondering if you could interview Mark Goldbridge, he presents That's Football and The United Stand. Top guy and massive United fan. ⚽🤔
Not sure if it’s already been said but using VAR the same way the TMO is used in rugby would solve most of these issues. In the RWC final, the ref Wayne Barnes actually apologizes to the players for a call he made that was wrong and a correction was made. I appreciate football is a lot less stop start than rugby but having an official watching for fouls in crucial areas and radioing the red if something needs a second look while something like advantage is played could be the key.
On a side note, I’m not an avid football fan, I don’t support a club etc really but I can sit and watch a good game and I appreciate a strong team… however I have to say the ultimate team at the moment is you three! I haven’t watched a single game this season yet, but I’ve watched about 18 TRIF podcasts this week! Keep up the top work chaps!
Madrid better sort out their striker situation and/or Vini should get back into top form, because you cannot expect a young midfielder without a history of getting many goals to keep popping up and saving y'all.
Jude's a beast tho.
Hi Gary you played againts Flamurtari in Albania in 87. I was in stadium on that game, what was you opinion of that flamurtari team , and Albania ? From a Nufc fan and Flamurtari
Cant speak for Gary but I spent 6 months in Albania and loved it. Great country and lovely people who get a bad rep at times. Recomend it if anyone is reading this.
I went to watch KF tirana and the national team.
Zabaletta is the assistant manager there now right?
Bellingham is easily walking to be the best in the world
Alan is spot on about the work rate of Bruno. I’ve watched multiple games this season where he loses his head and seems to just give up mid game.
We call Everton the worst run club in the country (and rightly so) however I'm seeing the exact same issues at Man Utd. No long term plan, different players don't suite the style of players around them as they were bought from different managers. Only real difference is we've worked on replacing our out dated stadium.
Hate having to agree 😢
So is Gary the only English player to score for Barca in an El Clasico? Kudos 👍
You will struggle to list English footballers who have played for Barca, let alone score.
Fair point lol 😂
Good podcast! The VAR has become laughable and it’s every week now… sick of it all, so many chances and they are still getting it wrong 😑
The best way to decide is u av a cup final tomorrow which one do u pick which one do u bench
Wilson Pelasious also had a family members kidnapped he was never the same player after.
Rashford shouldn’t even be in the United XI at the moment.
That's waffle they're all poor
To be pedantic, Gary is totally wrong. The clocks officially go back at 2am Sunday morning not Saturday night… 😎
I think Kane is better and then Haaland personally. You could put Kane in any team in the world and he’s scoring goals where I feel Haaland don’t get me wrong is unreal but he requires great service
RB Salzburg 27 games played 29 goals 7 assists
Dortmund 89 games played 86 goals 26 assists
Man City 68 games played 65 goals 12 assist
Norway 28 games played 27 goals 3 assist
He's been scoring for any team he's been at in the world.
So since joining Salzburg 1. Jan 2019 he's played 212 games, scored 207 goals and assisted 48 goals. He's 23...
Top top top show😎
I don't watch football, I don't support a team, but I watch the Rest is Football. The power of a great podcast.
What's the point in listening if you don't like football
Which the current gap will the current top 5 be the top 5 (not in current order)
I'm not here to say Pep isn't a great coach because he absolutely is, but is he truly a visionary? I'm sure Chris Wilder had his Sheffield United team with CBs making attacking runs consistently. Pep takes ideas and improves on them, and that is great coaching. But he doesn't necessarily come up with the ideas.
Ten Hag looks lost and I don't think he knows how to fix the problem. He seems unable to motivate his players and this ship sinks slowly. Something has to be done. The biggest threat also is the sinking of the brand 'MU'. Rashford doesn't want to play, Bruno is too emotional and is losing his head... And we can talk about each indivual player. This team needs a leader in their manager and unfortunately Ten Hag is unable to do this...
I know Gary may be a little bias, but since he mentioned the best team sporting achievement being Leicester. Does that surpass the Lisbon Lions?
Haaland's a modern day Gerd Muller. Obviously more powerfully built but scores and poaches mainly from inside the box.
talking bout reffing mistakes this passed weekend all these teams got soft pks but chelsea get hoed and dont get our soft pk 😪
Question for another episode - would ANY of you accept an offer to work in the VAR room for a match and do you think ex-professionals should be assisting VAR at all matches in the future, could this resolve the persistent VAR problems every week?
Watch episode 6 with Howard Webb
I've followed Man U for 45 years... I'm so sad to say this but I feel worse now than during the 70s and 80s and that's bad and when Alan says " looking at the teams" and who he would swap. He goes on to say Rashford but who would you take out for him??? I'm still not convinced on Marcus and until he does it for 3 or 4 seasons on the bounce then I wouldn't even say he would be a swap
🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Offer Harry his very own Aaron Rogers Tuesday book club. He'll understand.
I think ten hags substitutions are awful but why does everyone question maranta going off? He was getting run rings round, got a yellow card and was getting wound up, if he stayed on he 100% would’ve walked. Ironically they basically played with 10 when mount when on anyway
The Haaland Kane debate is a bit flat. Kane is better in pretty much every attribute that's not physical.
For real. But speed and physical does have a huge impact.
@fe567 💯 Haaland is quality. I just don't think there's much of a debate to be had. Kane better technically, Haalnd better physically. End of debate lol.
