I read "The Secret History" many years ago, and... I couldn't put it down. It's a great book.

I tried reading The Little Red Chairs by Edna O'Brien but I never finished it. I listened to The Country Girls which is actually read by Edna O'Brien as an audio book and I got on much better with that. I listened to all three of the books by her that follow the lives of two good friends in Ireland, I think they finally move to London. It is an interesting peek into the world of the Irish Country life back then. Sorry your kitty had a couple of accidents, does he use an indoor litter? I hope when you are rested you will get back into the swing of reading again. Maybe it is a seasonal thing I am only half interested in Life in the Garden by Penelope Lively yet I do pick it up each day and read a few pages. There are aspects of it I really find interesting.

That’s interesting to hear, I’ll definitely see if I can find them on audiobook as well then. I’m getting through The Little Red Chairs slowly but surely, although I must say it is getting quite violent near the end.
My cat doesn’t use an indoor litter because she’s outside in the garden most of the time, so it’s usually not a problem, I guess I was just too late in letting her out that night. But all is forgiven 🐱
I do think it is a seasonal thing.. and maybe it’s just a busy time of year, with not much time left over for reading. I hope your reading takes an upswing again as well. Have a lovely week!

A cat pissing and shitting in your room would bum anyone out. Good luck with the Arts festival :).

dont you think there is such a thing as "reading too much"
a mind should be allowed to breath, it feels like you are obligating yourself to read as much as possible, BOOKS BOOKS BOOKS,

it does feel like that sometimes, but i do take breaks from reading (although unintentionally). so i often also feel like i read very little. but as long as i’m reading, even if it isn’t very often, i’m happy
