Thanks mate, for responding to my comments am Ex-Army, and l left the service about two years ago. After leaving army l got a good job, but due Covid the company closed down, so ended up in a burger meat factory, it's not the worst job, am getting promoted to duty manager in two weeks, but this short term job for myself. Am going back into door supervisor security, once am sure there is no more lock-downs. Thanks for not looking down on me, so many others do.

Totally agree they are actually really good , trick I used to use in my skint days was to pinch some Oxo cube ( just a little) on each side of the burger and rub it all over then grill , actually came out tasting like a Micheline stared Ramsey burger .
Try it folks you love it , great video again , when are you doing the Aldi mackerel one .......😁🤘🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

You’re doing the real people of the nation proud, when I was younger and bringing up a family, money was so tight, every penny counted and luxuries were a far and few between treat, now that the kids have flown the nest I can afford to spoil ourselves a little, but it’s nice to know with your reviews, that although I can afford some branded foodstuffs,it’s not always worth paying for the name, you just earned yourself another foodie follower👍

Really appreciating these comparison videos as I am on a very tight budget!
Switched to asda smart price for a few things and have been quite surprised by them. Usually get the breaded chicken burgers for a lunchtime snack and they are alright once the chilli sauce is on there. This week they subbed them with birds eye ones and honestly I could not have told you the difference.

First of all it was great watching you Friday. I thought at the end you were going to fall over!
Probably best you ended it when you did. I like the 'Old Speckled Hen' but did you know the name is based on a car not a bird? The name was chosen to commemorate a paint splattered MG Saloon so now you know!. I usually buy Iceland quarter pounders which are good value I think but when I shop in Asda will pick up a box of the Smart Price burgers. They look good to me. Cheers Gareth 🍻

i find that the smart price food is just as nice as its leading brand when making a meal on a budget in the end you can save quite a bit so for example for 4 peaple burgers mash spud mixed veg frozen and gravy all smart price will cost you about £5 but if you go for the best items the same meal can cost about £15 so for a hot meal that will fill you the smart price wins every day thats my option every time cheers for your hard work and excellent vids keep up the good work

Hi Gareth hope all’s well. Brilliant review, to be totally honest I’d go with the cheaper one all day long. The more expensive ones don’t warrant the extra money, and like you said if they’re in between a nice sliced bap with all the other things you would find it hard to tell them apart.

Have you tried the asda hot and spicy chicken fillets 4 for £1.90, they substituted them in our shop for the southern fried ones, and we were all surprised how good they were. Thanks for the brilliant comparison whereby you've confirmed theres only a marginal difference between the two. And yes, once the cheaper burger is put in a bun then seasoned and garnished together with the other trimmings to make it into a gourmet burger then no one would ever know its a smart price burger. I always thought the smart price burgers were something like only 15% meat. So many thanks for informing us foodies that they are worth while particularly if on a budget. Cheers Gareth and see you on the next one. 👍.

@@BaldFoodieGuy Top tip here Gareth! Take a sachet of Dioraltye (Electrolyte brand name) in a pint of water before going to bed. Learnt this from my mate whos a fireman here in Dublin. Alcohol is a diuretic, and your body wants to get rid of it as quickly as possible. Your body uses up huge amounts of water to get the alcohol out of your system hence why you pee a lot when drinking. You lose all the salts in your stomach from going to the toilet which leads to dehydration and a monster hangover. I never have a hangover any more..try it!

I buy the chilled ASDA Succulent 8 Beef Burgers, atm they are on offer for 2 for £7 £5.14 per kg, Beef (86%) we freeze the extra. Currently the frozen 10 pack asda burgers are £5.28 per kg. I will point out that the frozen birdeye 4 pk burgers are currently on offer for 5 pk for £5 or £4.42 per kg. We like the flavour, texture and size of the ASDA Succulent Beef Burgers compared to the prefrozen ones, that being said we have 10 of the birdseye 4pks in the chest freezer as well as they are ideal for any in the moment beer and burger evenings in the back garden.

It definitely looks like Asda Smart Price items, are pretty good compared with the more expensive products... I've seen a few reviews of the Smart Price items you've done before Gaz... And they all seem to do really well in comparison tests... There's almost no difference between these two Beef Burgers... Certainly none that kids could detect anyway... Like you said, once they chuck it in a Burger Bun with a load of Ketchup etc. they won't know the difference anyway... £2.18 less for the Smart Price Beef Burgers means with the money you save... You can buy a large bag of Asda Smart Price Chips 1.5kg for £0.90... And a pack of Warburtons 8 Sliced Soft White Rolls for £1.00, and still have change left over... Why would anyone want to pay the extra money!?... Another great money saving review Gaz... Keep up the good work mate... Cheers. 🍺

A lot better than that cheap Tesco brand they used to have years ago, it was cheap alright, but there was a reason it was cheap, well the food anyway, I know there were non food products as well that were reasonable.

Hi Gareth, l hope your doing great, the only difference here is that Asda middle range uses 100% normal beef mince and the economy supermarket burger/ Smartprice can use up to 30% Offal i.e. kidney heart and tongue, in the manufacture of the burger that's how their is part of the price difference. All supermarkets make their money on the middle range not the economy range. They use British and lrish meat as it says on the box, the man who owns meat/burger factory is one richest man in the UK and Ireland, he owns meats factories in four different countries in Europe, and one in brazil and he even owns two dog/cat food factories.

If u want good burgers then make them yourself. Get beef mince, salt pepper, grate some fresh garlic, mix it up, pop in a burger press, fry burgers and some red onion, then just before burgers done add Stilton to the top and grill them until melted. Pop in lightly toasted buns and throw some salad and bits on job done. Pork burgers are always good to do needs fresh coriander in burger mix and swap strong cheese for mild like mozzarella or Brie
