      I try to review class notes each day to keep up however long that takes- (not more than 2 hours) But for exams I usually spend most of my entire weekend studying leading up to the exam.
      I highlight important points that my teacher notes in class, then I write out notes and read everything. Then the closer I get to the exam I focus on my highlighted points and small notes.

    Hi, I love you informative videos. What is the most effective way to study ultrasound anatomy? I am in my first year. Reading ultrasound images as a beginner I found that very difficult. My school doesn't provide much study materials. We were given topics like Abdominal, Thyroid and expected find study materials and do research on our own and I found the area very broad and it makes it very hard to know what to focus on when it comes to tests and exams. Could you give me some advice? We don't have prescribed textbooks. Do you have a list of must have textbooks that you would recommend? Thanks

    • @morganashley3420
      @morganashley3420  Před 3 lety

      Hi. I was so confused with images in the beginning also but don't let that discourage you. You will get used to it overtime especially when you start your clinical rotations. My teacher gave us her own notes which is what I used mainly but the textbook we used is called "Abdomen and Superficial structures" by Diane Kawamura. So you can check that book out. It has a lot of information.
      I would also use websites to see pathology if I didn't see a lot in clinicals : www.ultrasoundcases.info/ . This was a good one for me because it has different specialties but there are other sites out there.
      For your exams I would ask your instructor for an outline of each test or ask them to give you a breakdown/ guide as to what each test will include. My teachers made sure to confirm what would be on upcoming tests in advance so we could all better prepare ourselves and not be all over the place.

    Thank you for posting this video. I’m stuck between nursing and ultrasound. And this video really help me. Only thing I’m worried about is that I’m a single mom and I work full time as a Phlebotomists so I need to work 😔.

      Your welcome ! & Maybe you could look into programs that have a portion online to help out with the tightness of your schedule. Also I know some programs have evening-night clinicals instead of morning- evening so that could work for you if you have a fulltime day schedule.

    I just got accepted into a Rad tech program. I want to be a sonographer but their isn’t any schools in my city (and because of covid I don’t want to move)
    There are certificate programs in my city tho.
    I’m excited to start my journey at 22. (I already have a bachelors degree.) All in all, thanks for the info. I heard you can’t work because the program is so intense.

     Is it more valuable to go into general diagnostic medical sonography or to specialize in a specific area of the body?
     Did you go to college to obtain your degree in sonography?
     Would you recommend checking out different schools vs. limiting yourself to one school for sonography?

    Hello! I love love your videos, very insightful and fun, so thank you for that! I was also wondering if I can share with you an email of a university I’m highly considering doing a Joint BS with the certification program. I just would love your input as I am in the medical field as a Surgical Coordinator and would just like to know my best options. I would really appreciate this sis 😫😫

    Does AI or automation replace sonographers

    • @morganashley3420
      @morganashley3420  Před 3 lety

      Definitely not as of now and they don't predict that for the future either because sonograms are very dependent on the sonographers to optimize images (because of shadowing from varying structures in the body, everyones body is built differently, repositioning patients to get good images is a major part of our job description so thats another thing to consider.. etc.) so in my opinion I don't think it will replace sonographers

  • @julianaxo1317
    @julianaxo1317 Před 4 lety +1

    How important is it for a sonography school to be CAAHEP accredited? All the schools around me are not, and I’m not sure I understand the differences in accreditation

    • @morganashley3420
      @morganashley3420  Před 4 lety +1

      It's very important when thinking about jobs because some places only hire you if you graduated from an accredited program. Some states are more lenient but for the most part that's a requirement for many and although you may find employers willing to hire you without the accreditation, it may be hard to find.

    Can i get a bachelors degree in sonography and then an accredited diploma program? Also does height matter for this career? (Im 4'11)

    • @morganashley3420
      @morganashley3420  Před 3 lety

      All you need is a certificate but most certificate programs require an associates degree first. You can get the bachelors if you want to but that can be costly so if the program isn't accredited I would look into other programs and get an accredited associates/certificate from the beginning. It will save you time and money.
      Height can become a challenge when doing portable ultrasounds in the hospital however most of the machines are adjustable as well as the hospital beds so it will all depend on your comfort !
