    Yes, I know it can go faster revving or not using the clutch when shifting up. :)

    Hi, I am a first time rider and have the same bike. Can you give a breakdown of what speeds you typically upshift? I feel I'm not starting fast enough due to early gear shifting.
    Thanks!

      @MotoSnax  Před 9 lety

      Keshav Chaudhary It's not about specific speeds when you shift upwards, it depends on the rpm's. You can go all the way in every gear until you almost hit the rev limiter, or a bit sooner. It doesn't matter when you do it. But if you do it too soon, you will notice, because you won't have much power or the engine won't run that smooth. Then you know you need to shift at a higher rpm. Didn't your riding school teach you?

      Amersfoort81 Hi, thanks for getting back. No my riding school made us practice in closed parking lots so didnt really get to go past the 2nd gear.
      Im getting better at it now tho. Just listening to the bike's engine sound (which relates to rpm as you said) kind of indicates the time to shift. Thanks!

      @MotoSnax  Před 9 lety +1

      Keshav Chaudhary In the parking lot there is no good way to practice this, unless it's a big lot. You'll get the hang of it, once you hit the road.

    The R3 has just enough power to keep things interesting. It loves the twisties w the throttle wide open through the corners. Perfect for daily commuting & long distance too due to it's comfort & light weight. By far the best bike I've ever owned throughout my 20 years of riding. Plan to keep it for many years to come. Oh, not forgetting it's economical to run for cheap b@stards like me.

    • @MotoSnax
      @MotoSnax  Před 7 lety +1

      Absolutely! What have you been riding the past 20 years, probably bikes with a bigger engine? I had a lot of fun while testing the R3.

      2strokes mostly, in all shapes & sizes lol. I came to a point when i realize i'm no longer after crazy speeds/power & i hated the frequent maintenance work on those stinkers.

    You'll do better if you get the throttle going before you let the clutch out. You're loosing a half second just getting the RPM up.

    • @MotoSnax
      @MotoSnax  Před 9 lety +1

      D. Paul Riderman Yup, but that wouldn't be fair to the motorcycles with DCT transmission or motorscooters which I'm also riding. :) Just take off half a second and there's your answer. :P

    use launch control method

    • @MotoSnax
      @MotoSnax  Před 8 lety +3

      yeah I forgot the type 'from idle' in the title. Done that now. ;) I always do these 0-100's from idle, just to know how fast (or slow) these are when you are at the traffic lights without revving it. Revving it first will probably be 0.5 secs faster, losing some weight maybe even more. :)

    • @chriscastella1232
      @chriscastella1232 Před 8 lety

      Ha ha... i was just pulling your leg. i m not too sure if there is a function like that on bikes. its there in my car but too complicated.

    • @MotoSnax
      @MotoSnax  Před 8 lety +2

      Haha, well there is a way to just rev it a few thousand rpm's and then let go of the clutch and go. I'd call that a launch control method. :)

  • @rockingrodders8551
    @rockingrodders8551 Před 7 lety

    If you know it could go faster..why didn't you..?

    • @MotoSnax
      @MotoSnax  Před 7 lety +2

      I did it from idle, because that is like how most normale people ride their bikes. Or are you always revving at the lights like a maniac and go full throttle including slipping clutch at every light? :) I just want to know what it does in regular traffic, hence 'from idle'.

    • @rockingrodders8551
      @rockingrodders8551 Před 7 lety

      Your pulling away was fine..you change gear too early..rev it man..mine is totally stock & does 55 in 2nd gear..I think you got into 4th to hit 60..Happy riding man & don't reply..cheers

      casarezc When I picked up this bike at the importer, it had Michelin Pilot Sport tires. I doubt those are stock. But I don't have this bike anymore. I test them for a week and then it's on to the next...
