Ikr! The Boeing 747sp sadly didn't sell well. There were only 45 built, however many are still around as VIP jets.
You mean 747SP
The SP looks ugly to me
Why Did Airbus Build The A318 Baby Bus?
Because it is cute. 😜
Hans Wurst agree
Look up... "bmi baby"... awww cutie baby
Because the A320 and A319 didn’t wear protection.......and are pro-life.

The A318 was an accident while washing several A320 with to hot water.
they just shrink.
Boeing had also once that same problem that resulted in the 747SP

I flew this plane as a first officer and later on as a captain, super versatile, nice to fly and funny looking plane, we used to land and take off in short 5000 feet runways with really reduced speeds, sometimes if not to heavy VAPP of 115 kts or less, due to the power to weight ratio its a great performing aircraft.
If you feed it and train how long does it take to grow it into a a380?
Around 16.57 years, hence most aren't willing to try. - TB
Lil Kito the same as you, as a kid i always wanted to become a pilot, the first flight simulator i had was a birthday gift, Microsoft flight simulator 95 with an old joystick, i enjoyded every second of it and as a teen always trying to leave the dream in the sim, if its your dream save up study hard and make it real ! Cheers!
@Anjel Kito Sink 30k USD into flying school to work for free for 3 years at a aeroclub until a regional airline hires you for $20k/year. After 10 years with a pristine flying record, a mainline airline might consider hiring you.

This video fails to mention the TRUE reason for the a318.
It was created so the company can raise it and feed so it can grow in a a380.
The reason there aren't many a380s is because there aren't many a318s.
Seems legit.
I always wondered how A380s are carried by belugas, you aren’t born an adult, you need to grow. I guess it’s the same with A380s...

Yes it happens. Your mobile was reading your mind technology has advanced.
Any of you wondering, British Airways cancelled BA1, which is the A318.

One of my favourite planes a319 a318 a320 a321
Without doubt, the 318 and the 717 are my true loves. If I had the money, I'd own both of them, that is after I was able to get a large enough hangar. Former airline VP & M11PIC
Love the large vertical rudder! Like the 747SP!
They had to go through the trouble of a taller tail(vertical stabilizer for ppl who know what planes are) to counter act the forces acting on the fuselage... it has a much higher thrust to weight ratio, so that’s why the A318 can also operate in airports like London City, it’s capable of short field operations, and steep approaches. It’s a shame there isn’t many of them, I like the baby bus a lot, flew on the BA1 flight, feels like a you are on a private jet not on a normal plane, albeit when on SQ21 A350 for Singapore, kinda want to go back to that experience again some time hahah
I flew around 20 times that baby Airbus, with Air France ❤️❤️❤️
It's the cutest aircraft for me, seems so efficient, smart, adorable just like a person in a way 😍
I did the A-220 4 times, interesting as well, but the A-318 is definitely my favorite in that range ✈️😘
P.S : i'm French, then i apologize in case my english isn't that good 😅
If i had an airline i would order a billion of this BABY BUSSES 🥺 Its si adorable
It's also the round nose and square cockpit windows that make it look so inoffensive, on top of the funky proportions
I like that little thing... you actually get a really nice flight experience there.
This is The cutest aircraft
Well is anyone expecting a video about small planes but long range next year or soon!?
Such a cute little plane ! Like a baby plane !
The A318 looks even shorter than it actually is, because it was short enough that they had to stretch the vertical fin to keep it effective.
I really wish Airbus to build an *A317* , that'd look so funny. ^^
Same, that would be epic!
Then the A317, then the A316, then A315. and other things
@@deeprules01 A314, A313, A312 and A311. Any lower then we get into the A310 family.
@@BinkBricks but the A310 is kinda a medium haul aircraft
I think airbus once toyed with the idea of making regional jets with that name. Think it was a collaboration with another company
It’s cute aswell ...awww🥰🥰
I love this little plane the most out of all the planes
😍✈️ it's so so lovely!
It's like a small toy baby !
She's so cute and adorable
The babybus is a little cutie! 😍
Iberia was also considering it for direct flights from popular Airports like Brussels or NL airports to Melilla, a very touristic small independent city in Northern Africa. The problem was that the ATR 72 is one of the only planes suited for this destination because of the low approach and steep turn (noise constraints) and the jet engines of the A318 would cause issues with the tall buildings on final.
I’m Romanian so I’m proud to see a Romanian airline in a video from such a big channel!
Cute little plane.
uhmmm actually, Avianca is still operating their A318s...
Andrea Mendes actually their last A318 left we Week in January this Year and the rest of their A318-fleet already left in November 2019!
In addition to the other factors, regional jets started to hit up against the 100-125 passenger capacity market, with the larger CRJs, and the Embraer E-Jets, while being probably much cheaper to operate. Parts commonality might be nice for a fleet with a lot of A320 series, but other than that the lower landing and operating costs of RJs probably won out.
Frontier used these during their short time in Baton Rouge, moving on to E-Jets (F4 had gotten rid of the 318 during this time) before pulling out of BTR altogether. They were so stinkin’ cute!
I flew an A318 back in 2006 with Mexicana Airlines *memories*
The name 'Air bus' gets here a whole new meaning
So it’s basically a320 but smol.
Looks more like a baby a380 due to proportions.
CUTE!!!😘😘😘
It's so cute! I'm so going to miss the 318.... it's adorable :)
It's just an inefficient small a320. If you want a 130 seat plane you can go for the a220 or the crj 1000 or the erj E195 e2, instead of the 3-3 Airbus plane
I am an Airbus fan btw (they are so much better than boeing)
Bruh this was back in the day ofc now people would rather go to a220 because of its efficiency
Better than Boeing? You...you don't mean that bro.
you mean the bombardier c series?
@@carlhall6836 yes. It's now call the a220
@@Repented008I was 100% searies. airbus doesn't make a potential stalling plane, have a cripple system to prevent it, and doesn't require a simulator training so the pilot could know how to dial in case the system stop working.
And also Airbus plane are generally more comfortable (better seats, larger overhead beams and the humidity is higher. And it's way cooler.
Maybe I say this because I'm not American
Already flew on the A318 it’s pretty cute
Awwww🥺🥺🥺😍😍😍💕 the baby bus 😂

2:33 did Turkish Airlines really order the A318 at first or is it just a coincidence that the A319 of TK is shown at that moment?

Everytime airbus comes up with complicated model names they turn out simplifying it.

The A318 tails is so massive in proportion.
747SP: Am I a joke to you?
With demand for air travel dwindling, I would love to see an a318neo which can fly across the pond in a 2 class configuration.
Would be cool to see but I don't know if there are any cross-atlantic routes with such low but steady demand that it would be worth it. Also, the A220 has already the ability to fill that niche if I'm not mistaken.
I wish there was an A318neo as it's such a cute plane, but realistically, the A220 renders it obsolete. The A220 counts as a regional jet legally speaking, so cheaper to operate, and has better range, so it can fly non-stop transatlantics out of the box.
Cute little baby plane
What I like the most is how similar the pronunciation is for A318 and A380. Unintended?
This is what the A380 looks like if it were to be scaled down lol
Looks like Jay Jay the plane !!. Cute.
The A318 might have been built by the leftover materials after building the larger planes...Looking very cute though...
One main difference from the a318 is its vertical stabilizer which is larger.

The A318 uses a different engine from the A320, the PW6000, so the most expensive parts can't be really interchanged with A320s. That's actually one of the biggest reasons the A318 wasn't economically viable, since the airline had to have a different stock of parts and train technicians to work on this specific engine. And the PW6000 only sold to the A318 in the end, so it is very difficult to find parts for it now.
Actually
A318 also uses the CFM-56 which is the engine that uses on A320
It's so cute 😍😚❤❤
