Camera crew a savage by telling the passengers that the captains new😂
Lmao thats fuked up
He's not a captain.
@waddersss second officer/flight engineer.
yeah hes like "somehow word has spread about the news" hmmm I wonder if the camera crew filming the cabin the whole time had anything to do with it.
@@Viper-gt2pmNo, first officer is correct. The position of second officer / flight engineer does not exist anymore on modern airplanes.
I like how calm and composed the captain was when he told the copilot he had to take control.
Yeah that was nice. He probably saw it coming but wanted to give him a chance. But it's crazy how he managed to save the landing within the last 10 feet.
both pilots can steer the plane at the same time with a joystick, so the pilot could already make the corrections and help him while he's flying, there is a red button on the joystick when he wants the plane to ignore input of the co pilot he presses it and the plane only listens to his input. Very easy to save the landing in that way :)
@@DogeGames1Didn't workout well for Air france 447 which one pilot was stalling it and the other was trying to correct them but botb were flying at the same time "Daul input"
It should be always like that encourage not criticize
He has done that literally thousands of times. Most airline pilots first build hours as Certified Flight Instructors and a CFI for commercial jets must have trained many PPL pilots, as well.
Also the narrator added extra drama (that is his job), but a little bit of nose-high attitude at 10ft could have made the landing a bit harder. That's all. There wasn't any danger.
I find it irritating that 99% of people have no idea the amount of dedication it takes to become a pilot
EXACTLY
Many steps even beyond irritating.
Pilots are top-notch! 🤙🏾
YES!!!
I want to become a pilot, I am taking physics for A-levels (I am British) and I am learning lots of the training already like researching stuff before I have even started the training. I'm 13. 13. At 14 I can start Cessna training and then move on to Small haul airliners once at 16. I hope I become a good pilot, only bad thing I'm worried about is the price since it is extremely expensive.
Brother u don’t need to take physics for A levels to become an airline pilot but if that’s what u wanna do or are interested in then go all in. I hope u the best of luck 🎉
for anyone scared of flying, I just wanted to say that the pilots and flight crew are trained for any situation possibly that could go wrong, I'm serious. If you are maybe scared of turbulence, just remember how calm the pilots are during turbulence, I've seen this video of a pilot in pretty bad turbulence. As soon as the camera went into the cockpit, the pilot was reading the newspaper!
remember that going on a flight is actually safer than getting into a bath! Also driving to the airport is far more dangerous.
Aircraft are nowadays tested to the limits, for example you know when your maybe scared when the wings are flexing? the 787 dreamliner's wings can flex over 7 meters.
flying is perfectly safe and one of the most popular and quick ways to travel today.
The only experience I have with a commercial airliner was a very good one. I highly doubt pilots will allow the situation to go to the worst case immediately. I've never been scared of flying, despite me being afraid of actual heights lol.
it's the fact that IF something goes wrong to a certain point, there's nothing u can do ur 30000ft up in the air
@@firesdumb plane have wings. They glide. Provided there is no bomb onboard, you most likely won’t die in a plane

5:17 as someone who is in flight training, "you have doubts, go around" is always the correct answer. I guess when you're flying with an experienced pilot right beside you in a multi-million dollar jet it's a different story lol.
When you are in flight training you pay for the go arounds so you can have as many as you like. When you are employed as a pilot someone else pays for the go arounds, that's the difference.
@@randomtask99don't calculate someone's money
Yeah when i heard that i was like well hes not wrong but hes not right lol
@@randomtask99 especially easyjet
Think you're misunderstanding the point of a line trainer. EasyJet certainly doesn't care about the cost of go arounds, they want their pilots up to standard. A line trainer taking over from a cadet at 50ft isn't to save money it's to maintain safety whilst delivering top notch training.
My man will be a great captain one day
Being a pilot, recreationally or as a pro, If you think you have it nailed, then you're going do have a bad day one day. It requires 100 percent commitment always. Experience will be paramount. Discipline, confidence and a positive character is required. Communication and teamwork. Dealing with multiple situations not just in the air, but on the ground. Commercial considerations, timings, MELs weather, to name a few. Forward planning. Fitness, diet, sleep. The responsibility is immense. But to fly anything successfully and in a safe and proficient manner, is one of the most rewarding experiences in life.
At 1.15 he says "then there's a 35 minute flight to Amsterdam" while the graphic indicates Milan-Amsterdam sector. Didn't know this aircraft was rated for supersonic flight.
I think they meant: fly to Milan and back and then to Amsterdam and back. But I was also wondering as well.
My man almost had it
It's a significant milestone in any pilot's journey, and I hope it was a smooth and memorable experience for all on board. Safe travels ahead! ✈ Congrats Stuart.
Honestly well done Stewart, mistake is how you grow

@@spIasher Can you land an A320 aircraft with 150 people onboard in foggy conditions and you are unsure about the runways position and status for the first time?
I think as well the two pilots were very rude to him you can feel this anyway I mean
@@user-bp9bp9vw8j The training pilot is just a no nonsense Swiss man. Not rude at all.
As a student pilot nearing completion with my solo done, I have to say…on final approach things do happen very quickly and you do realize you are not in a video game anymore. But that’s what drives us as pilots, getting you to your destination very quickly in spite of how unrealistic it can feel in the simulator. In the real world with my flight instructor, I constantly go over what I did wrong, and how I can improve my aiming point focus on landing. The A320 is an amazing plane, and when starting on the jet with an airline, the training captain is your best friend in learning how to adapt to flying a jet when starting with an airline. I cry often with tears of amazement and joy in regard to the engineering is that goes into manufacturing airplanes. Hopefully, this video can ease some anxieties about flying and how pilots act during final approaches to your destination. A training captain starting with an airline is someone to look up to and learn from.
How long have you trained for, and how old are you? If you don't mind me asking, thinking of getting into the aviation business myself.
even if you are 50 you can still start@@kasperkainulainen8776
The A320 is an incredible aircraft, and it's great to hear that you're excited about starting your journey with an airline. Having a training captain by your side is invaluable. They're like mentors guiding us through the complexities of flying a jet. The aviation world is a fascinating place, and the engineering behind these airplanes is mind-boggling.
Keep your passion alive, and those tears of amazement and joy will continue to flow as you progress in your aviation career. Best of luck with your training and future flights! ✈
@@kasperkainulainen8776it's pretty pricey and a long process. If you're working a job and able to fly twice a week, youre looking at around 2.5-3years to get your flight instructor and then an extra year if you're able to fly 100 hours a month teaching. I would say 4 years is on par and around $40k-$70k depending on school/rental cost
Me to
Wow this is one hell of a tutor. Perfectly explained what happened afterwards and why he took control. Gosh I feel this is almost the exact direction i need in my new job which is a lot less important (compared to flying) however is obviously very important to me.
How very calm and constructive. I had something thrown at me the other day from the person showing me the ropes! Disgusting behaviour aside it's not conducive of a learning environment.
i've always wondered if this would be absolutely terrifying the first time or not
They have already landed the real plane (although empty) and also done quite a bit of sim. I bet cameras didn't help him here either. But in the end, it's three of them in the cockpit to ensure safe operation and a professional training.
@@Uncle_Bob660he seemed to keep composure fine IMO. It’s his first live flight and he had not only 2 instructors but also a camera crew. He did fine.
The most terrifying time is just before the first solo on a single piston, when the instructor says "I am getting off. Go ahead and make 2 circuits and then come for debriefing after you park". Once lined on the runway for departure on the actual solo flight the fear goes away, because the student is too busy.
I'd like to know where he's at right now. They should do a follow-up and see how he's flying around Europe these days (or not).
Yeah I was rooting for Stuart's success!
He is still a pilot at easyJet. He was a director for a charity called Project Wingman, which gives support for mental health to pilots and flight crew.

The F/O triggered the DUAL INPUT when Captain said 'I have control'. At least they landed safely.

He did trigger SIDE STICK PRIORITY which is indicated by the snythetic voice and als by Thomas himself as it is recommended. DUAL INPUT would have been other audio/visual warnings.

Good checklists should only be for important items that can't be forgotten, otherwise they would be far too long and ineffective. Things such as lights are not super important

Bad luck his first landing was in socked in conditions. Good on the Capt to take over. No shame man, happens to everyone.
And bad luck that his first time landing was captured on video and shown to the entire world via CZcams. This isn't how the world used to be. But I guess younger people just assume that this is what their life will look like now.

He will get it right after some time 🎉
Even though the landing was not perfect, I still don't understand why the plane was so mad and kept on calling him a retard
because its a french piece of shit
I’m assuming you are sarcastic, but if you are not,the computer on Airbus planes such as the one in this video calls “retard” just before landing to tell the pilots to pull back the thrust levers to idle,or in other words slow the plane down.
He did good. He will be the captain one day
I wonder how is going now

They shouldn't be telling the passengers that its his first flight....but hey the extra prayers from that woman on the left, worked.... 5:10
When you are a new pilot, you could be taking over for another pilot who retired, or one who went to another airline. Just like when you join the military, you might be replacing somebody whose time ran out and opted not to reenlist.
they were shitting themselves when they found out it was his first landing
Beats ryan air hands down even if it is his first flight.. Me watching it when I was 7 and still watching it now.
He’s gone from 50 tonnes at the beginning to 60 tonnes jet at the end. Which one is it?
"Any doubts go around" UHHH YEAH that should 100% be what you do if you have doubts tf
Funny how few people know about this industry. No one realizes that an airline pilots first time flying the real thing is with passengers onboard.
You have something known as a base check where you will do circuit patterns with other pilots on an empty aircraft. But after sims(zero flight sims are very realistic), base check, it's the real deal with passengers.
HOW IS THERE ONLY 51 COMMENTS AND OVER 6000000 VIEWS?!

Beats ryan air hands down even if it is his first flight.
Can’t believe how old he is being a ‘new’ pilot..! I thought most airlines have an age limit for who they take on? Stuart will have a careee of less than twenty years at best!
Not being in his position, I should be loathe to judge him. However, with the complement of the flight crew, I think he could have been more confident.
I think I don’t know but they were very rude to him looked like not wanted as a colleague and this led him to mistakes
30 seconds before landing is not horrible, but thats about 1000ft off the ground which is nothing for an airliner

Maybe i am crazy but if the experienced pilot saw he was making this mistake why not tell him more in advance so he can adjust.
There is very little spoon feeding during this stage. Debriefing is far more important. There is little time to correct for the numerous variations in the performance of the aircraft during the approach. No 2 approaches are the same. They vary due to wind and turbulence, atmospheric pressure, temperature and aircraft weight.
A little bit of the narrator goes a very long way.
