- We headed back to Alton Towers Resort on a very quiet day in March 2024 which meant riding Nemesis Reborn with a short queue was possible. In this vlog we check out some of the new changes around the park, take a detailed look at Forbidden Valley and share a lot of Nemesis Reborn footage.

@@yourexperienceguide The Smiler is pretty much tied 1st for my favourite rollercoaster but when I went on it in the 2023 season, it was very rough in some places (notably the twelfth inversion lol). I'd just love to see it get a nice update. Bring back the lore, do a Ministry Of Joy marketing campaign akin to the Phalanx storyline. I think now's a perfect time for the world to undergo the marmalization process and Smile. Always. XD
Galactica needs a touch up first though for sure. Theme it to the Phalanx.

Great video chaps. We were there from Friday to Monday. Was lovely to get a couple of quick goes on Nemmy with a 5 min wait on Monday! Did see you both briefly but was on a tight schedule to get round the park and drive back down South. Keep up the good work 👏🏻

Spotted you guys filming on Monday, thought it was an ideal day at the park, 15 minutes to get on most things and the work that’s gone into the park in closed season is exceptional

So happy to see the actors there on off peak days! I hope they keep up with this as I only ever visit parks on the off peak ones... Usually it just means that there's no atmosphere but I'm keeping my fingers crossed for my visit at the end of May!
Also!! totally agree. Galactica needs to be removed and replaced with a multi-launch. Imagine what they could do with a custom layout on that plot of land =O

Excellent video guys! Im deffo going to go for Off Peak on my next visit, when I went at fireworks it was very busy and kinda overwhelming, this looks ideal for me and the fact that everything is running a good service and actors its a bonus!

Great vlog thanks! It's so good to see Alton Towers going in the right direction! Had fallen out of love with the park but after going on opening day and seeing how they are making postive changes and keeping it up on off peak days; all fills me with positivity! Will be looking forward to the event/ERT announcement, think will make it our first one ever attended for sure! Smiler is such an underwhelming ride, wish they put new trains or like you said just replace it! Agree Galactica needs a full re-theme and I'd put the Intamin multi launch coaster in Dark Forest! We can dream hey... But here's to a postive season and future whatever they do!

WOW! THE OBLIVION MIST IS BACK. It's gonna feel like I'm 11 again (though I prob won't be fearing for me life this time lol). And from 15:53... oh my GOD pat yourselves on the back for those Nemesis shots. Absolutely beautiful, and got me so pumped for this Saturday. Yes it will be busy - but I'm no fool - 10am to 8pm with unlimited fast tracks? Yes please.

Yeah, 3 of us going and we've made the outlay to have the best 10 hours of coasters ever at Alton, including night rides at the end. Less than 2 days to go! And you're more than welcome, they were amazing shots and you know it ha ;)@@yourexperienceguide

Having ridden the smiler today having previously loved it I can fully understand your feedback. It rode absolutely terribly, jolting from side to side and headbanging on the restraint just ruined the ride experience for me. Really needs some TLC.

Hang Time at Knotts is silky smooth. The trains and restraints it has would make Smiler absolutely world class

@@yourexperienceguide It looks sensational at night as well. I might be wrong but of all the Infinity coaster models, only Smiler has OTS restraints. So for me I think it needs new trains/restraints before a re-track. Layout is awesome but the restraints absolutely spoil it.

We were there on Monday. Went back in about 0945 on Tuesday from the hotel only to find at 10am 5 yes 5 attractions were 'opening later' So Nemesis, Galactica, Wickerman, Thirteen and Spinball. Cleary managing people. We had a 3hr drive back home and were looking forward to another ride on Nemesis & Galactica before we left. Entered the park @ 0945 left at 1030!!!!! Won't be visiting again anytime soon.
We arrived at 10:30, had a few issues with downtime but nothing major
Galactica deffo needs to be re-themed to fit with nemesis reborn, maybe something on the lines where you escape the monster where phalancs doing a massive flying evacuation
Good idea, some sort of escape the Nemesis scheme by the Phalanx
Completely agree with the intamin launch replacing galactica haha. Or one of the newer launched flying coasters.... I would beg towers for one of those.
The next gen flying coasters from Vekoma are quality so I’d be happy seeing one in this country

With the Smiler it’s definitely train dependant - most of them ride very well but one or two are very rough. I reckon simply replacing all of the trains to new lap bar ones from Gerstlauer would be fantastic. Also make the ride experience better, especially on the two airtime hills.

I’ve always thought that if you’re at a theme park, and actors are deemed necessary to create atmosphere on opening day/weekends, then there should be actors every day that people pay to enter. Great to see you had such a positive off-peak experience!

Thank you 🙏 Honestly I expect to visit Towers a lot more than BPB in 2024, but that’s not to say there’ll be a lack of BPB videos as I’ve got loads planned.
I absolutely love the back row on Wickerman. I was beside Digital Dan in the queue. I think I ended up with some of his friends (I think) and they were so nice - let me ride at the back with them and even gave me back row!
I also rode Nemesis Reborn 8 times on Sunday 🫣. I really wanted a hoodie but I refuse to pay £100 - it’s very greedy of Alton Towers in my opinion to ask such a ridiculous sum of money.
Dan is a great lad, so good to see his channel going from strength to strength.

Make the launch like stealth but, keep a terrain coaster still and add alot more track around the forest. There's loads of imagination to it,its just the restrictions towers have😢. ❤.

We was there Monday and yesterday (I said hello to Mark on Monday telling my mate about the scare fests that I love watching😂)as for the smiler...I have bruises..I used to love this ride. I went on the curse for first time..omg it was dismal 😂😂

I love the smiler and thought it was running alot better last year I think you just got unlucky with your seat placements
It’s not a very good coaster imo
We never got to ride galactica kept breaking down opening up and then breaking down happened all day as soon as it opened it would close down again 😂

Do you know if you can enter the park through the hotel entrance by galactica on both your arrival day (Saturday) and 2nd day (Sunday) if you staying over at the hotel Saturday night?

I think we were both pleasantly surprised by the overall guest experience yesterday
They've been on 2trains on wicker since Saturday, asked ride ops and the 3rd hasnt been signed off yet. I'm guessing is the same with rita and also smiler was on 3 on Saturday
Fair enough, glad it wasn’t on one.
When I went on Monday, through the curtains before the end turn of the ride you could see some staff members doing some work to the third train so looks as though some extended work was needed on it!
Btw on Smiler... are you sure you weren't riding car 4? Apparently that's the rough one. It's not always rough. I usually have great rides on it!!

Not been to Alton Towers for a good while. My favourite roller coaster is the hat you are wearing, which I believe was the record holder before BPB’s The Big One, but in my experience is a much better ride. Join The Wicker Man Cult 😀

@@yourexperienceguide I'm heading to Texas in early April to see a total solar eclipse. I wonder if the Six Flags at Arlington will be open? I have been before. Not sure when I will ever get back to Cedar Point. My last visit was 2011.

@@yourexperienceguide on train 1, row 7 and 8 I felt it in multiple places. Mostly on the second half of the ride. Coming out the loop for example.
Rita doesn’t do anything for me personally but then again I enjoy smiler and infusion 😂

If I'm being honest I'd rather they keep Galactica, maybe I'm just being sentimental but I think given the right care its still got plenty of life left in it. I said the same thing to Sean Evans, whilst Dark Forest may need some work I feel like they can get away with it as it is. X-Sector is a start but it still feels stylised and budget compared to Forbidden Valley with a lot of dead space, possibly to be fixed by flat rides. Katanga Canyon also doesn't need any change just massive enhancements, For the past 9 years I've been saying the rapids needs fiberglass animals
For me it’s a dull coaster, and could easily be replaced by something better with a lower height restriction.
Finally someone else who agrees with me. Smiler is rough is fook. The track is not ageing well at all. Towers should save a repaint and re-track some areas of the track.

HangTime is glass smooth by comparison with Smiler. The lapbars also make it much more comfortable. Having ridden a lot of Gersts now, I'm coming round to the conclusion that the Smiler is one of their worst coasters. The layout is the issue. Its trying to do too much.
Wickerman is fun, but its one of GCI's weakest coasters. Try Apocolypse - it looks tamer than Ghostrider (CCI though GCI did the retrack before you question me!) but IMO is the better coaster - its raucous! Are you guys going to CA this year?

the smiler is shocking guys spot on. its aging poorly. They must be able to do something to make it better apart from tearing the whole thing down and starting again (too expensive). New trains perhaps?

@@yourexperienceguide The price you have to pay to get in and there are no filler rides, nothing to soak up the crowds yet Alton are willing to take your cash then force you to wait hours just to ride something that's been freshly jet washed, it's a joke....please don't defend a park thats ripping off its customers off......its a joke and you know it

If you can defend the points I've just raised with out saying they are heading in the right direction, the only direction Alton are heading in is ripping off the very people like US who have supported them over the years.......defend those simple facts if you can, I won't hold my breath...lol

The removal of the Retrosquad doesn’t bother me, none of those rides appealed to me and will eventually be replaced with new filler attractions. You can’t order 5 new rides at short notice and install them all at once. I’d rather they put in a new water ride somewhere before more flat rides in truth.

Sky ride being closed is a major let down, there’s no getting away from it.

You are either delusional or being paid to promote Alton.......open your eyes, are you hoping Alton notices your content or something and gives you a free season pass.....a reality check is in order for you my friend....Alton Towers is a massive rip off and you know it, Nemesis Reborn is being treated like a brand new roller coaster when all its had is a partial retrack and updated theming.....how is that brand new, the layout is the same, no new track profiling, its rides exactly the same.....putting new shoe laces in a pair of trainers and then giving them a wipe with a damp cloth doesn't makes those trainers brand new does it, get your head out of Alton Towers's arse and engage you're brain because you're looking rather dumb right about now and I did see how you failed yet again to address any of the educated points I made, if your defence is just "they are heading in the right direction" then I'd love to see you court defending yourself......because just like in prison your getting shafted from behind in the comments and you are just laying there and taking it just like true pussy boi.....lol stupid is as stupid does.......lol
