The climb up to the peak at around 0:57 was pretty impressive

I hate roller coasters because I don’t like that butterfly feeling so I was super nervous to go on this but I decided I didn’t want to miss out on cool rides like this anymore so I went on it and it’s my favorite ride in animal kingdom now! Downhills are what scare me the most but the first time I went on this I sat more in the middle of the train and got no butterflies! The second time I sat in the very back and definitely felt butterflies during that drop but it was way more fun than scary! The third time I sat in front row and didn’t feel butterflies but it was an amazing view seeing the drop so if you’re nervous to go on this ride sit in the middle or the front then sitting in the back won’t be as scary! Went on this ride about 5 times when I was there cause I just loved it so much the first time and it was practically a walk on. My advice is if you’re nervous to go on this, don’t be! It’s a lot of fun coming from somebody who is petrified of coasters
Roller coasters, if nothing else, are an engineering spectacle. The idea that humans have figured out a way to move this large vehicle with many people in it, at high speeds, across what are effectively two steel beams held together is impressive.

I've heard of roller coasters doing backwards stuff.... Going into this ride I had no idea this was one of them. I was front row and when I saw the tracks my jaw dropped. That instant I knew I was on a backwards coaster....

Custom built Vekoma... same company that built the Boomerang style coasters common at many parks across the country. Good choice of designer, for a track that has a backwards element as part of it's layout. Excellent theming too!

If you are scared of roller coasters I would still highly recommend you get on this. If you've gotten on space mountain and enjoyed it, you'll love this ride. The drop is pretty intense not going to lie, but everything before and after that is such fun. Definitely top 3 best rides at Disney

i didn't have the fast pass and literally waited 25 mins to get on space mountain. Both are super fun rides as space mountain was actually space, while expedition Everest is just mount evereat, bit just "more" scary. The flashing lights are the picture takers, space mountain is super cool btw. Very fun rides I recommend you go on both. Walt Disney : magic kingdom, space mountain, Walt Disney : Expedition Everest, Animal Kingdom. The petting zoo is also fun there while there are goats and pigs lol. I rode Everest tomorrow and loved it. 10/10 for both, although I almost got sick from both. I was screaming so hard you could hear my fear. Animal kingdom is just an zoo, and magic kingdom is basically just a few rides, I bet. (although both have drops, they are still so fun but also really scary, if you're a child.) Anyone under 7 must be accompanied by adult over 14, just remember that, Walt Disney is just fun. I drove from Maryland to Florida for it. MAY 9(TODAY): driving back home from Florida to maryland, yay.!

I love this ride. It's sooo much fun. I went with my aunt and cousin, we had a blast. By far my FAVORITE rollercoaster. 👌🤟
I had a huge phobia of roller coasters, and even looking at this in animal kingdom made me sick. But once I went on it I loved it and went a second time. This ride is so pretty smooth, but I recommend back or middle seats for the smoothest ride! Drops aren’t too bad either. I will definitely come back.

i love how much effort disney puts into decorating and theming their rides. the coaster on its own is awesome but the theming just gives it that extra element that you can’t just find everywhere.
Rode this for the first time last week. I LOVED IT!! My sister convinced me to go on it with her, since she had already been on it and loved it. I will admit on most of the drops I closed my eyes and screamed my throat out 😂😂 but it was SO MUCH FUN!! After we got off we wanted to go again but the ride broke down, so we ended up going back to ride it again later. Seriously, if you are ever blessed with the opportunity to ride this coaster, DO IT!!! I never used to like roller coasters but i LOVED this one and it helped me gain confidence when going on other rides.

riding this with my boyfriend when i was 16 was one of the most fun experiences of my life. i loved it. it's not too intense but also not mild. and i absolutely loved the yeti museum around the line.
When I was just 8 my dad took me on this ride and the second, I saw the broken track I started screaming and crying because we were in the front seats... still one of the best rides I've ever been on.
Sitting next to people like that guy screaming is always the BEST. I have such anxiety on roller coasters and when I hear people enjoy it it actually makes me enjoy it more. And laugh the whole time. Im beaming watching this, ty random guy

Would you say that this is more intense than Rock n' Roller Coaster at Hollywood Studios? A lot of people say that that one is Disney's most intense coaster since it actually goes upside down. I know Everest doesn't go upside down, but some people seem to think that the backwards part feels like an inversion.

I remember when my family brought me to this park in the US when i was a kid. Jesus, those broken train tracks before the coaster went backwards is forever imprinted in my memory.

I'm a new coaster rider, having started back in 2021 at Disney for my college grad trip (I was determined to ride 7 dwarves and Everest). Cedar Point is my home park and I ride those coasters all the time. My two favorite coasters are Steel Vengeance and, still Everest. I ride crazier coasters all the time, but Everest is so much fun. I can't wait to get back to Disney and ride it again!
They should have a coaster that just flies off of the broken track. One is every 5,000 or so trips.

I expected this ride to be a little more thrilling than Thunder Mountain, but it was much more intense. The backwards portion in the dark and spinning you around and almost going upside down threw off my equilibrium and disoriented me so much that the rest of the ride was miserable. I was so off balance/dizzy after the ride that it induced a panic attack on me that lasted about 20 minutes. To be fair, I went on this ride immediately after Flight of Passage which almost made me yack… so probably wasn’t the best combination of things. Either way, I don’t think I’ll be riding this one again. Which is unfortunate, because I was really looking forward to this one.
When the coaster approached the track that had been torn up, it tripped me out! I'd love to ride this one!

I've been on coasters at Six Flags Magic Mountain, Knott's Berry Farm, and Disneyland Resort but this one is my favorite! The big drops are great but the theming is incredible and has so many surprises, especially that backwards spiral

We got lucky when cold weather came in, and fans left he park. My daughter and I were able to go on it six times in a row without a delay. It is a medium-thrill coaster, but my favorite of all time due to the ambiance. They hit a home run with this one.

This is such an amazing ride, from the start of the track to the end you are put in a new world, at the peak of the mountain. This ride is outstanding, the drop is very fun, and the backwards part doesn’t go on for ages. The queue line is really interesting as it’s full of artifacts and history of the yeti. It is a well rounded ride. Highly recommended. In my opinion, better than avatar!

honestly, its much more creepy in real life. i rode it so many times that i was able to ride it without screaming or making a face.

As someone who is afraid of heights the drop lasts about three seconds and it’s super fun! I love this ride and I would recommend :)
i rode this for the first time on the first day of epcot's 2023 international food & wine festival (and the last day of our trip) and i think the ride isn't that bad since the only high speed parts are the backwards helix in the dark and the drop out of the mountain after seeing the yeti rip up the track. that day i noticed the smoke effect on the train's engine (the steam comes out of the smokestack when the train stops in the loading area) was working (i know it usually doesn't work). as for the yeti animatronic, he still is in B mode but at least only the strobe light is on (unless the other lights on him are picked up using low light camera modes). our train was stopped in the holding brake behind the unload platform for longer than i ever was stopped on a rollercoaster; i even told my mom "i think it broke down", but eventually i saw the train in front of ours advance into the load station so i sat up straight to act like i wasn't held there for a long time
