Hi There! You are right when you say it is a bit the consumers fault to want cheeper and cheerful stuff. I am returning to the hobby after many years and I am struggling to find quality options in the market that are still in production or readily available. Despite all we may think or regret about Chinese production, most quality brands like Apple, Canon, Nikon have moved production to china. Thanks for sharing.
Hey that's awesome thanks for letting me know I'm trying to improve my videos all the time I'm still pretty new at this but I appreciate the comment. I also love the radio I plan on getting another one as well for my adventure packs and go bags and stuff especially since it's waterproof I love that. It's a strong performer too and I just love the simplicity.
Great radio! I also have a Yaseu FT-65r which is also great, with a few different options. If I HAD to choose one after owning both.... Alinco dj-vx50t with no questions. And yes, I also have a number of the Baofengs.
I've done several videos on this radio. I recommend watching them to get a full picture with programming software etc. But this would be definitely be the radio I would recommend.

Alinco dj-vx50t is made in Japan... Battery is made in China
Con prodotti cinesi ho avuto pessime esperienze 😠

Just retired so is this a good choice for beginners who know nothing about ham radios?
Yes I believe it is.
