I have two DM-330FX power supplies. A DR-438 UHF radio, DR-735 dual band vhf uhf radio, DR-CS25 1.25 radio, DJ-500 HT and the DJ-MD5XLT HT. Really like the Alinco products. Not much to chose from when it comes to a dual band vhf uhf radios anymore with the manufacturers going digital with almost all their radios recently. Your choices are the Alinco Dr-735 or the Icom 2730 for a straight dual band vhf uhf mobile radio. Alinco rocks!!!
My Daily is the DR 635, been a great radio for many years. Had the 2m Alinco in my farm vehicle for many years and use a DJ VX-50 handy rig I take on my many SOTA hikes. vk5cz ..
Got my DR 06 almost 2 years ago from HRO Delaware and it has been cooking since. I keep it parked on the .525 National calling frequency and am amazed when signals come through out of the blue. Love the unit and love HRO.
It's too bad that Alinco is overshadowed by "the big 3", Yeasu, ICOM and Kenwood, whenever people ask for recommendations on buying a Japan made radio. I'm fairly new to the game, I have only been licensed for a year. When the time came for me to graduate from an HT to a 2 Meter/70cm radio, I went with the Alinco DR-735. It has been a solid performer.
Alincos tend to last, i still use my alinco DX-70 which is basically held together with duct tape and still works fine and keeps freqs steady in nordic winters too. 5/5 products
Good evening! does anyone know about the Alinco 638 if it is possible to close the power supply while it is open and as soon as you open it, the Alinco also opens without having to turn off the power?? thanks!!
We do not sell the Alinco 638, so we can't try it. But looking on the Alinco website, it appears that the power switch on the radio is an electronically activated button, not a mechanical button. This usually means that when the power supply is turned on, the radio's power button must be pushed to energize the radio and it will reset to the "turned off" state when power is removed.
@@frankjankovich3512 I hear that I have a noise issue here I live a block east of a shipyard and am not sure if I need the better receiver unless it is easy to use without digging through the menus to find what I need to knock some if not all the noise out
alright I just purchased a Alinco Dr-735T Need to know what the cable is called going from the radio to the removable faceplate . It looks like an old school phone jack cable but found one here at home but does not work I know the other cable is ethernet or C-6. I'm trying to find one on Amazon
The head-to-body cable is not mentioned in the manual as being available as an accessory, so there is no part number. It could be a crossover cable, but that's just a guess and if you try a crossover cable and it causes an issue with the radio, that would be something not covered under warranty. Alinco does sell a separation kit which includes a longer version of that cable: EDS-30 www.hamradio.com/detail.cfm?pid=H0-015309 You can also email Alinco Technical Support at alincosupport@remtronix.com (as found on their website).
Video on the rigexspert and the ,mfj antenna analyzer be cool do video how they can see their antenna is 50 ohms for the FRQ they are at keep there HF Radio in the 50 ohms area
It's at least 23 years old and radio features and specs have progressed significantly since it was released. Sell it on eBay. If you get any money for it, you're ahead.

I discovered the alinco product line a little while ago and they are great radios. Under-appreciated in my opinion.

I have the DR-735T and the DM-330MV and confirm they are fantastic - been using mine for a couple of years and no issues but good issues! 73! W7PMR
How is your airband reception on the 735? Mine is disappointing. It sounds very overdriven and distorted. AM and AM narrow makes no difference.

Kenwood doesn't really have anything that competes in mobile right now. I'm also looking at that Alinco.

7300 is easier to use; but the dx10 has the better receiver

DR-MD520T looks similar to the Anytone 578. Why bother including 220 with only 5w? I mean I guess it's better than nothing but c'mon.
I found a alinco dj-580 it looks old and works fine i just dont know how to use it. Was wondering if it was worth anything?

I have the 735T and hate it, the most confusing radio to program. The manual is useless and confusing to understand. And alinco has no support.
