thanks for the review. i just completed my order with weathertech for my '11 sierra.
subbed. 😊
Very detailed and personal video! Love the details added when reviewing the sun shades. Hope you get sponsored soon!
Thank you from time to time I do get sponsors but many a time I like to buy products and share my opinion as well
My Husky only lasted 2 years. Weather tech delivering today.
Thanks just what I was looking for, subbed!!
Thanks glad it helped
Good morning, I thought I’d let you and Brooklyn know that i am currently powering about 25% of my house from my Delta max and a 500 watt solar array I made with knowledge and discounts I’ve gotten from your channel. Thank you and keep it up the great content.
That's awesome thank you so much for sharing and please stay in touch
Dearborn Truck Plant ay, I believe my father did the electrical there back in the day! Local 58 Detroit Electrical Workers Union. Good video you put here! Thank you for posting this here
Thanks for the video. Gaps in the summer time? ahhh ... no.
I had this choice but for floor mats. I have a 2018 Sierra All Terrain and the "All weather" mats that it came with had a cut out for the gas pedal. Kinda defeated the purpose of all weather. I normally go with WT but turns out for GMC they have a flaw that allows any water that has built up to end up at the door. Well when that water freezes so does your door. Ended up with the Huskies and I like em. I need a shade and that WT one looked like a better fit around the mirror. Thanks for the video.
I have the Husky floor mats also, I like them 👍🏻
I’m curious is there one for the back hatch back.. great video the husky looks more durable 😁
Appreciate you giving your impressions, but to make this video really useful it would be great if you took some temperature measurements with each over a few days to see if one or the other makes a measurable difference.
I looked at trying that when I did the video and although it did keep the vehicle cooler (seats dash steering wheel) the temp of the overall vehicle was a drop lower.
To lower it noticeably better you’d have to get the complete shade kits from these companies ( especially weatherTech) then you would see a difference.
I like the accordion design because it’s easy on and easy fold. Wish it fit better
Definitely folds better
Just ordered the weathertech but no Im not holding the front shade up with the visors. Thats what I love about the weathertech because they are laser cut for your model
Heatshield I love it better review that one
have and use both, the roll up weather tech material will separate internally and sag over time...like both prefer the folding shade for compact storage although you can use the roll up for other placement as the side windows easier...
Thanks
Thanks 😊
I was shocked to see such a poor fit on the husky. I would have thought it would be much better.
Husky is Chinese
I've always found the cheaper/thinner sun shades are easier to install and get out than the nicer ones like the Husky. However, the cheaper probably wear out quicker. As you fold and unfold the reflective side seams to crinkle and break apart. And I don't think there is much difference in the cheaper shades to keep out the heat. I've found both do a good job.
Weather tech is my choice, found them to work and last long over the years
I have the full truck weathertech sunshades and love them. When we go on trips I block out the sides for the kids and they can sleep. If we stop at a truck stop I can throw them all up and nobody can see inside the truck.
The full kit I hear works well
@@TechMadeEzy yes very much so. Great for roadtrips when you just need a little nap
I bought the Husky. I like the material way better. But I also had the same complaint as everyone else. So I modified it and got rid of the large gap for the rear view mirror. Works great
👍🏼
@@AzraelIgnis How?
I believe the Husky is actually made by Covercraft & it's the UVS100 Premier Series Custom Sunscreen! If it's not, it's made by the same factory in Mexico. I have had 3 Covercrafts sunshades, I have 2 now in use, one is in my 2004 Colorado Extreme, had that shade since 2005 & its in perfect almost new looking condition for being 19 years old, my other one is in my 2024 Honda Civic Hatchback Sport Touring, it has the same black backing compared to your review of the Husky & my other 2 that have the original silver backing. I never like those flimsy ones like the WeatherTech one, guess I'm a fan of the Covercraft ones. I just bought the one for my 2024 Honda, it was on sale $89.99 & then I had a $10 off promo code, with tax & free shipping it was $86.39.
Please do a video on how much cooler your vehicle is.😮
Good idea
Thanks for the review. I'm looking for a better sunshade for my Suburban. In my research, I saw that Weathertech is made in the USA--which I prefer. I can't find information on Husky's website about where it's manufactured. Can you tell me where the Husky is made?
Seems china and Taiwan
@@TechMadeEzy Okay, thank you.
i like them both, btw whate state are you in? with all those registration stickers you would think it was a boat!
By now you may have learned more about how to use the weathertech product. They cost more but the fit is second to none. It helps to watch other videos, as well.
Love it
You stated that the Weathertech product's sun shield fit is "second to none". I think that the Heatshield product, which is customized for each vehicle, blows Weathertech away.
Hello! Thanks for the video. My question is how much cooler does it feel using Weather Tech vs standard sunshade one can purchase in their everyday Walmart? I’m not expecting a scientific answer just wondering if it’s generally cooler enough to to warrant $80 price vs say $25 at Walmart. Appreciate any feedback.
I myself go by the quality and the thickness and I don't mind paying a little extra to be honest with you but it's hard to tell when your side windows and your rear windows are not covered and you're just using something in the front
@@TechMadeEzy thanks for the reply. I’m going to order the Weather Tech.
I hope you enjoy it and it works well for you
Can you fold the WT?
It rolls up
Very poor fit from the Husky …The Weather Tech is a far better fit… Thank you for sharing the video …
Like the vid BUT, for my vehicle, the Husky fits better and is much easier to fit.
I hear you, what vehicle do you have?
@@TechMadeEzy Honda CRV with safety features
Definitely
@@TechMadeEzy the weather tech shades seems very thin which wouldn't be good for the winter, are the husky shades thicker with better insulator foams?
Hi
Quality with WeatherTech was pretty good and they do state they help in the winter by using the black side. Husky is thicker but didn't state it offered winter type protection.
The husky wins the battle all day long. It is rigid, thick, and has lasted me the last five years with no problems whatsoever. But I'm always puzzled why people want to keep out the heat in the winter time.
If you are referring to the opposite side of the weathertech made for winter, it doesn't keep the heat out on the back side. The silver side is to reflect the sun's rays back out, keeping it cooler in the summer heat. The black side is to attract heat from sun rays to keep it warmer in your vehicle and to possibly try and prevent frost buildup on the windshield (they claim).
weather tec looks good but for $80, not sure if its that good, husky looks like crap, thanks for the review, ive been using those circular thingy when folded and just stow it between the seat and center console but they are so thin, maybe i'll just double them
You know the husky looks like crap and you know from watching the video the weather tech fits better and looks less crappy. $80 is the quality you’ll get in a sunshade. I own the full set for my 3 window ford E-250 and I’ve had it for 4.75 years and it’s just not starting to tear in the black area as that’s the area I’ve always had face the interior. I’ve had the quality you see in the video for 4.75 years almost 5 come December. Money well spent.
@@CenobiteBeldar how is the heat rejection with the Weather Tech?
After the heat gets on that weather Tec it will collapse and fall without the visor down
Not my experience, since I’ve done this video it stays up even with the visors down, still still and works well.
@@TechMadeEzy mine works well but when it gets hot if visor wasn’t down it’s fallen and on dashboard
My mirror holds it in the middle, I guess it depends on what vehicle you have
I would NEVER pay $70 for a car sunshade.
If you had enough money you would, eh? For example, if you won, inherited, earned or otherwise obtained a net worth of enough money to easily retire, would you reconsider your statement here about never paying $70 for a car sunshade? Aren't costs relative?
@@lazurm I still wouldn't waste that much money on a sun shade.
@@Randy_Richmond Fair enough. It's not as though a sun shade is THAT important. Still, I'd have to guess that you are far from perfect (as most of us are) when it comes to spending solely on inherently valueable items.
In some cases, though, especially when privacy, security, etc. is an issue, a custom sunshade where a complete kit can approach $200 may be worth it for some. And for others, who money isn't an issue, perspective on cost can be quite different.
So, you don't think sunshades are that valueable. But that doesn't make it true for everyone...of course.
Forgive me for belaboring a minor issue but, heck, I have time on my hands and, besides, I've always been fascinated by alternative viewpoints.
You would if you lived in South Texas
@@dawnpavlicek5961 Nope, I wouldn't spend more than $20 on a simple sun shade.
what if u have a video recorder could get it custom
