He not only respected his troopers. But cared for them too. Got them better equipment, food and living conditions. Something that most people don’t know about him.
Ain’t no way the mass murderer who killed children treats soldiers better than actual military officers
Sounds like imperial propaganda.
@@Rain-Man915 No. it’s the truth. Darth Vader really admired, and cared for his troopers. When he died his troopers all left the empire. No 501st served the fallen empire.
@@juliorodriguez4954 poor guy, you're an other victim of this imperial propaganda 💀💀💀 long live the Resistance !!

That's so unrelated to the actual video. You can be the bad guy and still respect your solders.
@@scientistmilorad9735maybe, but it’s the fact that he seemed to genuinely care unlike the sith before him. Vader was seen as cruel and evil but he was more caring of his soldiers than the imperial officers
@@gemjoltik3426 Yeah. But always when the video talks about Vader doing jolly/wholesome/respectable things there got to be some people in the comments saying that it's because "he still got Anakin inside of him", so I am wondering why can't Vader just be Vader and respect these stormtroopers because it's in HIS personality?
What I want to say is that however dark darkside is, it doesn't stop you from caring about people and things you love (that aren't vengeance and power)
@@scientistmilorad9735 I get where you’re coming from here. The way I see it is that the Sith traditionally don’t care about their troops and Vader did, indicating at some small amount of Anakin left in Vader.
@@gemjoltik3426 interesting
It’s so funny to me that troopers get more respect from Darth Vader than officers 😂
Well, most of the imperial officers were pretentious pricks so…
Most of the officers were pathetic and they happen to be asswipes, the troopers fight on the front lines and try their hardest to make Vader proud, it’s no wonder he has more respect for them.
It was actually a common occurence in real life, in WW2 at least.
There are records of at least 7 generals, 4 soviet and 3 british, who hated the officers, but deeply respected and cared for regular soldiers, just like Vader in this example.
Yeah, considering Anakin was a Jedi who loved the thrill of battle, it's no wonder that he despises people who bark orders from afar while others risk their lives. It's also worth remembering that Anakin was not keen about authority figures telling him what to do, and since the officers were both of these things, he likely saw them unworthy of their positions.
The Officers were straight arses
There was also a junior officer Vader actually liked too because he lead his platoon from the front and was not a coward, he earned Vader's respect and also was considered Vader's friend
It's like a habit, their armor is similar to a Clone Trooper, it reminds him of that, friendships in the clone wars.
His first stormtroopers WERE his original 501st troopers from the clone wars. They WERE clones. The same ones he stormed the Jedi Temple with.
•
Luckily, we know that most of the 501st clones from Torrent Company from TCW weren’t among them. Hardcase died on Umbara, Dogma was “sent to a farm upstate” (jk he was either decommissioned or reprogrammed on Kamino for killing Pong Krell), Tup died when his chip malfunctioned, Fives died when he tried to expose the truth about the chips and was shot by CC-1010 Fox on Coruscant, Echo was thought to be dead but survived with Clone Force 99 after the rise of the Empire, Vaughn died at the hands of Maul on Mandalore, Jesse died after the chips activated during Order 66 and his Battalion turned on Ahsoka, and Rex survived Order 66 WITH Ahsoka. So most of the clones we really cared about didn’t storm the temple with Anakin or become part of Vader’s Fist. I think Danal was one of the ones who did? I could be wrong.
@@SaphireXari It's cool that one of Anakin's Clone Troopers has my real name, that's so cool. So for how long did Clone Troopers were Stormtroopers? Because at the time of A New Hope, Clone Troopers didn't exist for being in the Empire.
@@SaphireXariSorry to disappoint but Denal was killed by Cad Bane earlier on in the show and had his armor stolen by him when he tried to sneak away.
@@SaphireXariAppo was likely with him during Operation Knightfall (the sacking of the Jedi Temple on Coruscant in Ep: III for anyone reading these comments who isn't a SW nerd).
@@lastmanstanding-xp3ub Appo was promoted to Commander right before Operation Knightfall. I believe it was confirmed he was one of the Clones slashed by the Jedi when they were talking if Organa. He survived and recovered from it though.
He only killed them with a valuable reason, like seeing him without his helmet💀
Edit: damn this blew up
Well Vader didn't like anybody seeing him without the helmet
@@thegaminghistorian1209Yeah, and I’m pretty sure it was something that Palpatine wanted Vader to do to retain secrecy, not Vader himself.
@@master0fthearts894he didn't want to be outted as Anakin Skywalker
@@onedeep6460 I think the Clones actually knew Vader was Anakin. They just didn't know the reason behind the armor. I may be wrong.
They actually liked it because it made him seem more like them, like soldiers, in comparison to Jedi generals who's tendency to charge into the fray without armor (minus a few light pieces) made the Clones a little resentful at times.
@@onedeep6460 They wouldn’t know he’s Anakin by seeing his face because the dude is severely disfigured
I’ve only recently gotten into the deeper lore of Star Wars (watching other stuff than the main films). And Darth Vader is probably one of the most compelling characters in modern media, he has so many layers and everything that happens to him is heartbreaking.
Yup.
He was basically the equivalent to a child foot soldier to an eventual pawn in ever faucet and corner.
Even his own jedi master did not speak up for him when he needed it most (prequels) and his padawan bailed too (better in hindsight).
So much so i honestly don't 100% blame him for how he ended up.
He probably treats his stormtroopers better because he sees himself in them and the officers as potential leaders who would end up repeating the cycle that made him turn to the dark side.
Had he not sided with palpetiene and eliminated both sides and if Obi Wan hadn't found him first...
i believe Anakin would've made an excellent sith lord in the time before they and most jedi were wiped.
It makes sense that he respects them more, most Officers got put into their positions because of their blood relations or because their families were rich, they didn't work to get to their position, whereas stormtroopers actually do stuff, they don't just sit in one place and boss people around, which makes Vader respect them much more than High ranking officers.
it’s really sad when you think about it because you don’t really see much respect from Vader in the film but behind the scenes, he actually cares about his men. I would honestly love interactions with clone troopers/stormtroopers

These are really good videos keep up the great work❤
Thank you! Glad you enjoy!
Everyday someone makes Vader less scary and evil 🥲
That's a bond that comes with fighting together, be it as a soldier, police, security... you name it. If you fight for something, experience things together, support each other, maybe tend to an injured fellow officer, soldier, etc, a very special bond is formed into that group.
Vader fought together with his troopers on the frontline, he endured the same hardships as they did, that develops a huge deal of respect from the troopers, in contrast to officers who hide behind a desk and just give out orders.
Another reason is that Vader actually respected a lot of his troopers because the Stormtroopers actually earned their positions. He saw the officers as incompetent, greedy fools that only got their positions through nepotism and bribery due to their wealthy, core world backgrounds.
That makes sense because Annakin resented the Jedi Council because he felt they were jealously holding him back. No way Empire officers aren't getting force choked to death for what he perceives as the same thing.
Sometimes people forget that vader is still Anakin Skywalker although he changed a lot he is still the same person
You forgot about the part where he used stormtroopers as meat shields
Vader loves his troopers so much to the point where he gave those troopers a smaller visor for worse aiming.
"He wouldn't ask me to do anything he wouldn't do."

Don't ask me where this came from, but it came from some book. I don't remember which one.

My respect for Vader and the storm troopers kind of went up

Troopers: Yay.
Officers: Does that include us-
Vader: NO YOU'RE HELMETLESS, WRAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!
I like the reference…
Palpatine be like: :/
My favourite story was how the Death troopers were molded.
After the DT performanced an assault on a Rebel base. The rebel defence was too strong.
But due to the fanatic loyalty to the Empire and Emperor. These troopers literally went kamikaze mode.
They destroyed the base, after flying a ship straight into it. Most DT's died.
The ones who survived. We're medically evauated. Most needed robotic limbs. A costly operation to say the least.
However. An arrogant officer branded them as cowards. And ordered the medical droids to let them die.
As the officer was about to terminate life support, he got choked out.
Vader be like: "These guys are cool. Give them black robot limbs." :D
He treated his men now like he did back in clone wars
I mean, he's being fair, the storm troopers just do their job, without complaining, so fair on vader.
Also amazing video, as always! ❤

Actually, the only time he kills his troopers when they see him without his helmet is if they point it out or hesitate once seeing his burned skin. If the trooper continues on with what they were doing/saying, he didn't care. Vader only cared for efficiency, hesitation stops his efficient ways.
Vaders that company VP who hates every middle manager that's between him and his workers but always holds the door open for the janitor.
Anikan in clone wars legit disobeying orders with five troopers and attacking impossible this is fine
Officer put a troop down on hostile ground so you have chosen death
Probably because he was there with them on the front line.
Did you have a stroke typing this?
Straight to the point
Anakin would be there at the front leading them and tried his hardest to keep them safe, he also wasnt stupid and had good plans and ideas although they were reckless. He was a great general and recognised as such. But when an officer is sitting in a luxury hotel just telling soldiers to fight here is just stupid and vader also didn't agree with it.
That makes the robot chicken sketch so much better. It was the one where a Stormtrooper took his daughter to work.
That’s one of the few things he held onto, respect for his soldiers
imagine vader leading a squad of elite shadow units to eliminate the officers who treated the troopers like tools
If my men followed me into Jedi hell I’d fully respect them too.
Vader knows that the grunts are the backbone of any army!!!
I can’t believe he actually liked his troops that so sweet and that shows he has a little Anikan in him
Dooku in the afterlife: "I need my own troopers, and I called them Dooku's fist, because I have no fists and hands."
The emperor in the back talking about “release him”.
I wonder if there are officers that Vader respected. There have to be officers that cared for their men.
If there were they either perished on the death stars or were far far away from wherever vader was at.
My headcannon
Is there were but they were on desolate plantes made of all ice snow or forest devoid of any nearby civilization.
When you're in charge of 100's of troops and nowhere to go to if stuff happens you p much have to treat them well or else you're screwed in more ways than one.
Mistreating troops or overworking them would lead to potential mutinies or them getting sick / out of work and then you'd make things worse.
I think tarkan or whoever it was.
Thawn is the guy your all thinking of
He only killed them for a valuable reason. Such as seeing him without his mask💀
I need to respect Vader for not hating Stormtroopers even thought he hates almost anything, and the fact that he even respect some Stormtroopers.
Fans respect Clonetroopers and Battle Droids but they don't never care about Stormtroopers
i loved the part where he told us how he punished his stormtroopers
I Mean he DID. He Only Killed Them if They Saw Him Under his Mask and Some Stuff. He Punished Them by KILLING Them. But DID go off Topic.
So did you not watch the video?
I think the point was that he doesn't really punish them
I like how he answered the question
Any possible emotion aside, it just makes sense tactically.
He would want them to eat better, live better and fight better in order to serve him more effectively.
Trooper: Happy birthday Lord Vader!
Vader: Breaks troopers neck with the force
Vader: I fucking love these guys
Stormtroopers are like family to him…
“Nah bro I’m sorry I have too, I need to be more mysterious”
There so many small detail about Vader that when added up prove that Anikin was still inside him trapped.
I wonder if any 501st were in Vaders Fist
Commander cody was, if you play the campaign for the original star wars battlefront 2 he is the one who narrates it.

Darth vader:Yes.
Despite that, there is one officer that Dark Vader respect him.
Imagine you're that unlucky trooper and accidentally sees Vader without his mask. 😮
All Vader looked for was loyalty, that's the reason why he was born out of Anakin in the first places
Vaders helmet accidentally falls off
MY EYES WERE CLOSED THE WHOLE TIME SIR! 😅
"Vader respected his troopers"
Also him: he killed them for seeing him without his mask on
Bro was in the Clone Wars, he knows how to be a good leader. Well until they see his face that is.
“They never aimed” well well well
bc even behind all those robot parts and sith energy he's still anakin skywalker
“They never aimed”
On the contrary, being an officer under Vaders command was very nerve wracking and scary, Paelleon is proof of this as when he first gets put with Thrawn hes really nervous and careful with his words because he was just serving Darth Vader before the Emperor died
Didn't vader lift a 501st trooper up in the air to use him as a human shield from blaster bolt fire.
He is polite to them until his priorities are on the line. Still good for someone like vader
Yeah cause Disney changed it so he'd be more brutal. But in the original version he actually throws himself into the blaster fire to protect his troopers.
if Vader only killed his troopers if they saw his face then Mando's gonna be busy
Id like to imagine Vader sensing an officers doubt about an order he just gave a being able to tell the officer felt like he could’ve done something differently
So kinda like CEO punishing managers for treating the employees garbage nice
I don’t know about that, I remember there was one comic where Vader used several troopers (can’t remember if they were clones or stormtroopers) as human shields for incoming blaster fire.
Yep, which was a valuable reason! (From a certain point of view)
this goes to show how much respect he has for thrawn I guess like yes sure thrawn was always ambitious but he did some sense had some leniency towards his troops even personally joining in battles not to mention he is one the people that would rather destroy the enemy slow and steady they going immediately guns blazing like tarkin or the other officers
Imagine being the guy who kills vaders favorite trooper
Indeed. Vader respected his Stormtroopers not only because they looked up to him and had no ambitions of acquiring power, but also due to the fact that they were just as willing to fight on the front lines as he was. The Imperial officers, on the other hand, were more often than not on Vader's hit list, as they were the ones giving orders from the comfort of their Star Destroyers, engaging in underhanded tactics to climb the ranks, and disrespecting the Dark Lord because he was essentially outside the standard chain of command.
I seem to recall a comic where Vader is sent to a planet with a coterie of Stormtroopers to intercept the Death Star plans but is instead made to fight a doppelganger of Darth Maul. At one point, the Maul copy is Force-choking the Stormtroopers, and when two of them plead with Vader to stop, thinking that it's him, he responds, "It's not MY doing."
I like how book vader is pretty nice
He ran after then with a slipper, like a true Hispanic abuela
Its all fun and games till one stormtrooper calls darth vader anakin
Additional facts what the troops think of Vader.
They have immense respect for him because he does not order any missions that he would do himself, they respect him for joining them in the front line of battle.
Imagine as a clone trooper you originally served under Anakin and one day you see him again just for him too kill u
I would love to actually see this side of Vader
Did you know his suit doubled as a movable port-a-potty...😂
it makes sense that even as vader he still respects his troops just as much as he respected the 501st
"They never aimed to ensure authority." Yeah and they never aimed correctly as well.
Another bit of Anakin in Vader
Nah, I still remember him needlessly using two troopers has human shields 💀
It's actually how Tarkin realized Vader was Anakin, I think. By noticing the similarities in how both led and interacted with soldiers.
Star wars is the definition of showing good as bad and bad as good one
The empire is pretty chill
I have brought Peace, Freedom, Justice, and Security to my new Storm Troopers!
Many officers also barely knew how to fight and instead would just hide in cover so whatever officers actually had a spine were usually liked by Vader
This just shows that there’s a little bit of good in him
The 501st legion became vaders fist
Actually the concept of Jedi and Sith is not really on Good vs Bad things but more like the power and ideology. So respect is actually exist on both side
