Godzilla´s theme is still one of my favorite pieces in cinema. It really has a feeling of epicness and scale and gains more and more momentum as it goes on.
Agreed! It's one of those themes that so perfectly fits the character that any other theme feels wrong, haha!

God, I love these reviews. You're bringing back so many childhood memories of watching these movies on our big cabinet tv while I colored in coloring books or played with my Barbies and GI Joes, Guru. Thank you for that. The only thing that would better is if you were reviewing Vincent Price movies.

Not quite a Kaiju flick, but a review of Honda’s Matango would be cool. It’s got the hokey effects and style of your typical Toho monster flick, but done as a more straightforward horror film of rich assholes getting shipwrecked and slowly losing their minds while being plagued by mutant mushroom people.
Always fun. Best part of this review though was your "Shock Treatment" joke. It was so perfectly timed and witty I suddenly burst out laughing. Also like the idea that Gozilla just curses all the time.
Ghidorah is probably my second favorite Kaiju after Mothera so this is cool to see where he comes from.

Given that Godzilla Vs. King Kong is on the horizon, perhaps maybe that could be the next Kaiju Film you review, especially since there's a some interesting backstories behind its production and it's attempt to not only bring King Kong and Godzilla back to the cinema (Godzilla's last film appearance prior to the movie was in Godzilla Raids Again)

I'd love to see more kaiju movie reviews worked into 'Blood Spattered Cinema', but I also fear that people might start demanding them over "purer" horror movies - sure as shit is how it's gone down for 'Brandon's Cult Movie Reviews.' Poor guy is always inundated with evermore Godzilla review requests. Still, these reviews are great, so if you _want to_ keep doing more kaiju films (including newer and weirder stuff, and non-Godzilla movies) I'll definitely keep on watching and enjoying 'em :)

I would like to see you do more kaiju movie reviews. But since this is BLOOD Splattered Cinema, which ones have the most gore? I know the Gamera movies usually having him getting cut and bleeding at various points in them.
The 90's Gamera trilogy and the Heisei era Godzilla flicks can get pretty gnarly with the Kaiju gore, that's for sure.
I totally mistook this for Godzilla vs Monster Zero...even all the Saucer People talk at the beginning was like a red-herring. I'd entirely forgotten about this movie...and it's even more batshite insane than I remember!
There's a few Godzilla movies my brain meshes together because of similar plot elements, so I totally get it haha!

I seriously recommend Daimajin from Toei. He's practically a Kaiju SLASHER, and considered the third greatest Kaiju franchise after Gamera.
Not even joking. In the first movie, he straight up SKEWERS a motherfucker with the spike that was implanted in his head. Just "Grab-Wall-Stab" Michael Myers style.
And as the Trilogy goes on, his power scale gets ridiculous, Like, GOD level powers. Because that's what he actually is.
I'll definitely check it out.

I fully agree with you that the new movie is like a remake of this, but the creators said their are some changes while you can see they are being faithful to the source material. So we will never see the twin fairies in this remake, they will be mention or a easter egg nod but not as characters in the movie. But the good news is at least it's not shot by shot remake like psycho and the omen.
I LOVE that they did an orchestral rendition of the Mothra song as her theme for the movie! That movie's in good hands.

I just watched this movie for the first time, JApanese version.
Jesus christ the dub/localization looks terrible. Why did they rearrange scenes like that? At least in the original King of the Monsters and Godzilla 1985 it's understandable because they splice it with new footage, here it seems just for the hell of it.
A lot of the localized Godzilla movies have this problem where they rearrange and cut shit for no goddamn reason, I dunno why lol
