Great video, sounds like you got yourself a new favorite quad. I love my Apex. I went high end as well. Different motors, but Tmotor ESC and some other high end components, it's REALLY NICE!

Another great video Darren. Keep them coming! Only thing I would change on that build if it were mine is using the HDZ Freestyle VTX with the Nano 90fps cam instead. I feel more connected with the quad. O3 is double the latency of HDZ :( Each to their own. Well done!

The quadmula does look very premium indeed and I had to double take that that was DVR footage.
Good job on the build. Also one advice to all building with an O3 is to ensure that your FC can handle the amp draw from the AU. I've seen too many pilots lose their quads because the assumed the FC could handle it. I'd solder it to Vbat

I’d recommend the Luma 5” Freestyle instead.

What do you personally think about freestyling a 6" deadcat? Say with 2506 1750kv motors. I'd like to have a cruiser to take to the mountains and conquer peaks😅. And at the same time be able to freestyle but not hard.
Depends what you call “freestyle”, if it’s just flying around a park etc and not doing bando bashing, yeah absolutely.
I am trying to get started in fpv and i was wondering if its more worth it to spend the money on digital with the DJI o3 air unit or to go analog?
There are 3 digital systems
Each have their pros and cons.
Go analog. Get into FPV
Then work out which digital system you want later.
I also faced the same issue that the the connector included does NOT fit the DJI O3. I was quite frustrated.

First I Back up default configuration it comes with,
Then Add all my stuff - and after that back that up once it all works.
So I have two backups.
Hi there I’m getting into fpv and I have 2 questions. 1 how do you figure out what panels you need to solder for the radio master. 2 do you have to solder anything for setting up Vtx. Thank you! And one more thing sorry, do you have a VTX antenna holder?
As in the pads on the receiver?
They’re labelled on it.
Yes you may have to solder the VTX depending on which one you get and what flight controller you have.
You can 3D print a VTX antenna holder but they do come with most frames
I’m just realizing I might have gone a little pricey for my first build😂 I pretty much have all of these parts except I got the t motor F7 stack. Gonna be doing a lot more time in the sims before I put this in the air lol.
It has just rained constantly pretty much the last twelve months... i haven't flown much due to the rain.... didn't rain all day then after work i went to my regular spot and it poured down as soon as i got there ahh well hopefully it stops soon...

No, hence by I used cable ties.
9:28 I just destroyed 2 cables 😂 I had to do this on both of my builds that I switched from the original DJI to O3. Definitely a pain…

Depends how fast the motor bikes are going and where you are flying to chase them.
What’s the speed you will be chasing bikes?

@@Fransola87 you ideally want a 7” or 9” for those given the speeds, otherwise you will be smashing through batteries.
If you wanted to try a 5” first. Look for 1950kv motors in 2207.

If you take the motors for example. Things like the bearings, magnets, titanium shafts, replaceable bells - all they kind of stuff goes into being premium vs cheap.

You would buy an Analog VTX, Camera and Antenna.

Does a tx12 elrs come with an elrs transmitter in it and also I'm for the tx12 elrs what is a good reciever that can be used with it can u suggest one on grtfpv
Yes the TX12 ELRS version has an internal ELRS module.
I’d go with a “Happymodel TCXO ExpressLRS 2.4GHz Nano Receiver - EP1” and then also get a “TBS Tracer Immortal T Antenna” or the extended version.

What kind of range and battery life can you expect from something like this?
This drone is optimised for Acrobatic Performance not distance. Range is limited by Battery and Video System. The video system on this can do 20kms, but the radio can go to 50kms.
However, you will run out of battery first. Acrobatic flying on a 6S Lipo of 1100mah is 4mins, a 1300mah is 5-6mins. Cruising with a Li-Ion pack will get you 10mins+
What kind of range and battery life are you looking for -- and what is the reason for that range & battery life?
@@DarrenAllatt honestly that range is wild already. I'm looking on moving from analog to HD. I live in a forest and flying low through the trees barely gets me anywhere maybe around .20klm/ .12miles until I cant see anything. So im thinking on moving to a hd setup for the quality and hopefully better range in the trees.
@@gladperson116 you are fighting against the physics of radio waves flying low and amongst trees.

@Darren Allatt so im running a iFlight SucceX V3.0 mini VTX with a lollipop 4 antenna and I have skyzones o4x that came with stock steadyview v3.3 receiver. The antennas I use on it are, Iflight 150mm and a triple feed patch antenna. I'm thinking on moving to HD for a while now especially with the 03 air unit and retire this dinasour.
You have quite the setup, so yeah you should get better penetration with O3
So... this is timely. I've had drones on the back-burner for a couple of years while I did video games with my teenage son (Elden Ring has been eating my life). And I'm getting back into it, but all my drones are 4s. I really want to build up a 6s Apex... but I also want some HDZero goggles for some lighter-weight digital video that I can do in my neighborhood without attracting the Karens. Whadya think? I'm leaning towards the Apex.
Quadmula make the Siren in a Lite version so the frame is a lot lighter than a normal one. The Apex is a tank.
The Siren is lighter than the Apex because it doesn’t have as much hardware keeping it together, and it’s all counter sunk as well.
I’d go with the Quadmula over the Apex.
Move to the country and come flying with me in the outback.
My wife is from the country, she grew up on a cotton farm and now won’t leave the city.

Maybe that’s a camping trip to put on for the city comes to go bush, race in the outback and then go and fly bush.

The velox esc's are not top of the line they blow all the time get the hobbywing 60amp esc that's a top of the line esc t motor fc's are really good tho.
I haven’t had a problem with them previous though. Although given I had to pin the ESC & FC, if I built another I’d go with Foxeer stack for it.
@@DarrenAllatt The foxeer 20x20 stack is awesome that is my main stacks i use and they last a really long time and take a beating

I really have had a very good run with my geeprc mark 5 absolutely thrash it and man it just burns up 100c China hobby line black batterys pizza batteries just get killed I'm going to have to go higher c rating for that quad but it's super nice to fly best I have ever flown so far. ❤

I have built over 15 quads. Some budget, some all out premium. I'll be 100% honest the only premium builds dont do anything better then the budgets. One of best quads is a budget build. For example. Ordered 8 amax performante v2 2306 1950kv 30$ each. 3 of the 8 are so out of balance they cannot be used. They sent me 2 replacements, and one of those was bad. I tried to replace the bearings, but its not a bearing issue. It's a balance issue. So out of 10 30$ motors, I got 4 that are usable horrible vibration, 1 slightly vibrating/noisey, so 5 are horrible balanced and completely unusable. Not worth it, the only thing you shouldnt skimp on is the frame. I have had the same issue with T-motor F40's. Bought 4, one was so notchy it was like a completely different motor. I order another F40 pro IV 1950kv. Same exact thing. Notchy as the first one. So out of 5 27$ 3 are smooth, 2 are extreamly notchy like theybhave different magnets. So in the last 4 years ive tried it all.
