  • James Harden is heading to Philadelphia after the blockbuster trade that sent Ben Simmons, Seth Curry, Andre Drummond and two first-round picks to the Brooklyn Nets. Kevin Durant said he was quote: 'happy we got guys who want to be a part of this.' Last night, he had several chances to put Harden on his All-Star Game roster but ended up finalizing it with Rudy Gobert. Marcellus Wiley, Emmanuel Acho and Ric Bucher debate how much of Harden's exit falls on KD.

The Spurs were no match for OKC. Russ, Harden and KD were too talented and skilled for for any team in the Conference. The scary part, they were just scratching the surface of what they were going to eventually become.

I don't think anyone is exonerating Harden or saying he's free of blame. I /do/ think that Durant has more responsibility for this than "well, if he doesn't want to be here..." Durant recruited him and convinced the Nets to acquire him. He knew what Harden was -- a very talented, temperamental athlete (Kyrie is similar -- must be Durant's type). Anyhow, Durant wanted to do the LeBron thing and build his own team. He succeeded in pulling them all onto one squad. But having done that, he bears some responsibility for doing whatever he can to make it work.
I'd love to hear Durant honestly talk about his decision to leave the Warriors and what he thinks now. We'll never get that take. But it would be fascinating.

I have to disagree with Rick saying Harden quit the thunder. OKC didn't want to give him what he was worth. I don't think harden really quit on the Nets. He has been having a down season considering his usual in standards before kd got injured. If KD and kyrie were playing I don't think he would have been upset, and if the Nets decided to keep him, I think he would have continued to play to the current season started. I mean didn't he put up like a 30 point triple double against the Lakers like just last week or so?

"SHARED RESPONSIBILITY"(BLAME).....That's the term to describe why Harden bounced. They all played a part but ULTIMATELY it was Harden's choice to do what he's done. Colin Cowherd made valid points about KD.
He's quirky and not really a strong leader.
I think Harden wanted them to reach out more and they wanted Harden to want to fight for the relationship more.
How much did those guys make up their minds to sit in a room and work it out? Like really, did they ever just talk??? If so, how much?? Not enough. IMO
The relationship could've been saved if all parties fought for it more. *DRAIN SOUNDS FROM CHAMPIONSHIPS GOING DOWN*......SMDH!!!

The writing was on the wall that they were gonna win a title soon. I thought in 2016 without harden they were the most talented team in the league. They may’ve won well before then. In 2014 (or is it 2013) they were an Ibaka calf away from making the finals again.
