@@Jeffm94 I think they have a relationship outside of the game. Brodie is the most useless d-man when the game is on the line. Where you can find him, flopping on the ice like a fish out of water or standing beside the guy who scores.
They trade for 2 guys that are suppose to clear the front of the net and then when the game is on the line they have Brodie on the ice. Keefe should be fired for that reason alone.

The refs also missed Max Domi clearing it over the glass for a delay of game call. The hook was a weak call but they were bad for both teams all night.

That's funny you say that because we're all aware it isn't just the leafs that Refs fuck over. The dangle boys have said countless times on the podcast that refs are fucking God awful across the league, so you can stop making it out like we think they're only against us because it's simply not true.

I knew it was over when it was 4-3, 6 on 5 and our 5 leafs were all STANDING STILL in front of the net, leaving them space to pass, waiting for them to score.
They need to be taught that standing on skates isn’t the same as skating.
I'm a Canes fan and attended that game. Gotta say, very close and exciting game in both ends, no scoring in the first but dangerous chances in both ends, you hammered us initially in the second and then we were lucky to have come back in the third. Canes had a bad start, Leafs had a bad finish. Both goaltenders were very good last night. Keep up the good work, Steve!
By the way, my GPS says the bus' destination is off of a cliff. Be prepared.

whys everyone ignoring the fact we lost that game due to bad coaching decisions. dropping benny, not switching the pp thats been garbage. playing brodie on the pk, or dumbest yet on a 6 on 4 he puts out brodie, nylander and tavares, so on a pk he put his most struggling dman out with his worst defensive center and winger. team wont win with keefe constantly handicapping the team and because he refuses to adapt or change. you can always predict what keefe will do in any situation just by thinking whats the dumbest thing you could do right now, works everytime.

we lost it due to the refs rigging the game, that's it. there is only one reason they call a bullsiht penalty when carolina are struggling 6-5 and leafs nearly put the game away, it's cynical and deliberate and happens time and time again.

I’m always frustrated when the leafs lose, I was literally shouting at the TV when that ridiculous penalty call against the Leafs was made. And then when Carolina tied it with less than five seconds to go, I lost it.
We just have to get better at protecting leads and playing to the final second.
The mystery to me was after completely stuttering in the overtime, how was it that Willie and Austin and Max all tried to deke the Carolina goalie when he proved that they couldn’t do that. Every goal in the game except for Willy’s was from bullet wrist shots 20 feet out. Why wouldn’t they try that?
Canes fan here. I'm with you on that hook call. You can't call that. You just can't call that. The league needs to start holding these refs accountable for these egregious calls and non-calls. If a player or a coach can get fined or suspended for being upset about bad calls but refs get nothing, that invalidates the legitimacy of the league. When you have the viewership and attendance problems they've had this season along with tickets skyrocketing, this just makes it easier for fans to stay home.
Fire all refs and replace them with AI.

@@winring5593 The point is the officiating is at an all time low and it's holding the game back. Bringing up whataboutisms with calls to justify other bad calls doesn't change that. If I had a dollar for every time I heard a whataboutism when bringing up bad officiating, I'd have enough to pay off my house ten times over. We need to stop with the whataboutisms and start with the pushes for change to make the NHL a real league for the first time since 1992.

The thing with the Kampf penalty, if you're going to call the hook, which was barely a hook, then you absolutely have to call the embellishment. Kampf's stick was BACK ON THE ICE when Orlov did his little lurch forward and puck loss to try and sell it.
that and the dive that lead to their pp goal, without the refs this is a nice 4-2 win. NHL needs to start taking action against divers.

As of March 17, the Leafs have played 66 games of which 30 were against teams that are currently in the playoffs. Their record in those games is 9 regulation wins, 5 OT/SO wins, 6 ties and 10 losses. That means that out of a possible 60 points against playoffs teams they have earned 34. That is not good. Beating up on non-playoff teams is obscuring that this team is not ready to take on the top teams in the playoffs.
As a Canes fan, we played awful 90% of that game, Toronto deserved the win. You (and the puppy) were robbed.

The refs called everything so soft this game though. The goal to put the Canes within 1 was soft, and the OT penalty was soft. If we lost in OT off of that penalty, I couldn't even be mad.
And the refs missed a clear DOGPOG on Domi. Tired of the self flagellation Canes fans are going through on here. Toronto had a chance to still get two points with a full 2 min PP in OT. They weren't robbed of anything.
That Seth Jarvis stat is pretty rediculous, but the butterfly effect on that one is that Sebastian Aho likely has multi point games in almost all of those wins.

Whomever designed that box out setup in the final 2 minutes NEEDS TO BE FIRED! Every man advantage in the first period, the Leafs got in the Canes faces and forced resets outside the blue line. Forget the 99% chance to win, having JT just stand there in the defensive slot, made it a 100% chance Sammy was going to get shots and 100% guaranteed Sammy wasn't going to see any of them.
