In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.
Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion. - Komedie
"Sometimes you don't see bridges" is also another classic Taskmaster quote that can be used as some sort of idiom.
“There’s strength in arches”
When your eyes are circles..sometimes you only see strength in arches, but no bridges.'
It is classic tunnel-vision.
@Bryan Zakai correct, nobody has ever given a single atom of a shit
The way I see it, bridges can be a term for relations (i.e burning bridges) so I could see it being something along the lines of "sometimes you don't notice the potential relationships and connections that you could be having"
Alex getting happy about being called dude is adorable tbh
He sound like dobby getting a sock. " masters called me dude!"
Time stamp?
@@3DegreesNorth638 its a 9 min video just watch it 😅

@@alwynabraham6751 thank you!
I imagine Alex might design some of these tasks based off of his kids asking “dad, can we do this thing?”
“No; but Hmmmmm I wonder if 5 comedians could though”
4 comedians and a TV celebrity*
Alex is the actual creator of the ahow
@@amberagarwal8396 I know, and I’m petty sure he designs the tasks too
@@stevendebaugh109 I strongly suspect there is a team of designers, but I think he makes the overall call.
@@mikepictor oh definitely yeah, there’s always a writers room.
Richard Osman tossing the trolley over the river, or at least attempting to do so, is iconic. Same with Doc Brown being bridge blind. This cast is definitely one of my faves.
Yup, still my favorite season :)
The bridges theme in this season is my favourite thing of the whole show. "Sometimes you don't see bridges" and of course the iconic: "there is strength in arches".
Bridges and “ponies.” Oh wait, that says potatoes.
"What worries you Joe?"
"Horses and darkness."
Especially combined, I guess.
@@0ldFrittenfett Katy Perry must be ruling his nightmares then. Combined with Black Beauty.
As I'm not a native speaker I thought he's referring to the Scandinavian winter by saying "whole season darkness"
@@Widdekuu91 funny how a night mare is a female horse at night (in the dark)
he is just afraid of nightmares
It's things like these that make Joe one of my favorite contestants, honestly
Alex' choice of grocery items was quite clever, because if the rice got wet it would suddenly get extremely heavy, the bread and sponges are capable of rapidly going downstream, and as we saw, the cans sink quick and are hard to see in the water.
doc’s genuine concern over not being able to see the bridges is one of my favorite moments from that season
I enjoy thinking about the bystanders' perspectives:
Hey, look over there. Is that... Richard Osman?
Yeah, I think it is! What is he doing with that trolley? Oh my-
What's he doing? He's gone mad! Run!
RICHARD OSMAN IS HURLING TROLLEYS! NO ONE IS SAFE!
Presumably, the cameras weren't hidden though
You'd be asking questions too if you see a local celebrity around the area chugging shopping trolleys into a river
The thing about Katherine is that she does not run
she doesnt need to shes just that efficient
@@smittywerbenjagermanjensen9281 SIMP
@@John-lo4xz absolutely
She did after she realised the trolley de-wheeled and shouted "you fu$%^& bastards!"
@@John-lo4xz You're out of your element, mate.
I love the lil nod Alex does to Katherine when she’s the only one who laughs at “pi time”😂
4:50
Little? That was a full on "I acknowledge you" nod!
but is Correct Pi Time 3.14 minutes, or 3:14 minutes?
@@dargosian Yes since it's a joke
@@dargosian that’s what I was wondering as well 😂 I’m assuming 3 minutes 14 seconds
I genuinely find it hilarious when you can tell that Greg forgets for a moment that the narrative is that he is the taskmaster and is in charge. For example “They’re both shafted then?” “It is exactly your decision.” “Rrrriiight....booooooth shafted then....”
He doesnt forget now. He gets drunk on this mighty power.
well at those times he knows who REALLY is in charge, then he remembers that he is running the show and is suppose to be lol. For those that don't know, It's Alex's show.
pretty sure he did that for comedic purposes lol
@@eolsunder CZcams only started recommending clips of this show to me this weekend, so I actually did not know that! That's both amazing and hilarious; thanks for pointing that out! :D
@@boxoffoxes223 It's even funnier knowing that Alex voluntarily lets himself be subjected to the things the contestants subject him to
I love Alex’s little smile after he says “No one has ever called me dude.” 🙌🏼🥰
Dude wasn't lying when he said his eyesight goes bad around bridges.
Seeing Richard Osman throw a shopping trolley into a river like an absolute yob is truly special
Dude wasn't lying when he said his eyesight goes bad around bridges.
2:42 this is how UPS handles my packages
I love the differences
Katherine: alright, there's a bridge, i'll just cross it
Everyone else: H U R L
Not to be out done by Richard who hurled the TROLLEY
"There's a bridge there as well."
He's not a bridge man.
I love this task because it set up Doc so well for building a bridge later
THere`s strength in arches.
You can tell from his eyes that Joe really needed that win. Love it.
I’m not sure if it’s just me but I just love it that they always put their ads at the same spot as the ad break for television.
It looks like Joe actually gets a bit choked up when Alex says he won the task. He finally did something good
Saw that too
the idea of calling that little trickle of water a "river" LOL
Give us season 8 full episodes. Your time starts now.
@They_Call_Me_ Pebbles amen
They_Call_Me_ Pebbles and make them available for the swedish audience as well!
@Anna Guedez If you’re in the US, download the CW Seed app. You’ll have to put up with full commercial breaks but they have all series 8 episodes (they call it season 1). They don’t have series 9 or 10 but many of them are on YT if you look, posted by other people.
I’ve watched everything through series 10, including champion of champions, and this is by far my favorite group. They’re all so different and come up with the best answers to the tasks!
Doc getting all pissed off and disappointed of himself because he couldn't see bridges and signs are absolutely gold.
3:56 Wow, this really got to him.
On his website, he says that he's never been able to watch the show himself.
"Deeply troubled"
It seems it doesn't matter how many times I watch Richard Osman toss that trolly in the river, it has me gasping for air every time.
My first instinct would've also been to just hurl the trolley to be honest
When Joe said horses and darkness I felt that.
Losing for rolling up your pants seems appropriately British
Richard paying homage to Toast of London here. "I'm the sort of person who dumps supermarket trolleys in canals."
i havent seen this episode but i really hope they had to cook a meal with the groceries after seeing how badly some of them handled it.
Feal like the guy who dropped the rice would be effed and our other tosser would be messed up with his bread.
As soon as I say the cart I thought about throwing it across
Same but I also know I would not get it far and end up like Doc and Jon haha
I can't look at that man's face without associating it with tragic potato failure.
that was such a dad trolley throw.
Sometimes you don't see bridges is a classic Taskmaster quote
the breathy 'shiii' as half baguettes float away down the stream kills me
Haha. Hilarious how it's Doc and Jon whose attempt is null and void and Joe wins the challenge, yet they are the ones who voted against him in the red green challenge.
They got hit harshly by a rigid interpretation of the rules, so they feel it fair to have the interpretation stay as rigid. I'd go even further: Joe very clearly broke the rules while they completed the vast majority of the task. For them, a time penalty would have been an appropriate punishment. For Joe that wouldn't have made any sense, because we can't extrapolate how he would've fared without cheating.
Let’s all just take a moment to admire Jon Richardson’s fly ass fit. Man had the timbs on and everything 😂
I want that dress!
I love how the ad lined up exactly where it was supposed too.
Creators can choose when to display midroll ads.
It’s funny as soon as I saw this I thought, “well I’d just run across the River, pick up the shopping cart, carry it back and put everything in it. Don’t need wheels if you’re just carrying it across lol
lol!!! he really said let her fly ❤️
we need this show in germany :D its awesome. i dont know annyone in here, but ist lots of fun ^^
This task was karmic justice for Joe
I feel like Katherine deserved an extra point for her groceries still being mostly edible
First impression: throw the trolley across, then fill (but i would take bridge, my lardass would not climb that embankment)
After some thought:
Inspect the site. See river. See goods. see trolley. Task seems obvious!! go fetch trolley. Load trolley. THEN read task
But what if the task says you may not move the trolley?
@@petertaylor4980 Well, they you don't move it. after reading the task :) :"D
One of my favorite tasks.
I kinda thought they were going to add some of those logic-puzzle twists, like "you have a fox, a chicken, and grain. Can't leave the fox with the chicken, etc.".
Series 2 was just so damn entertaining.....
The wheels 🤣🤣🤣
2:38 jusst imagine those two guys working for Uber Eats....
I👏🏻want👏🏻the👏🏻new👏🏻season
7:44 there's still a piece of bread in the river nobody noticed he never got into the trollu
Nah he retrieves at 8:00
@@naccienac superb accuracy mate
how did only one person think to just yeet the shopping trolley back across the river instead.
"John was π time 3:14"
I liked that (i know, i'm a geek)
Go Joe!
Alex getting delighted about being called dude is great tbh
“What worries you Joe?” If this was a later episode, he’d say “stepping on the red green.”
Is it weird that tossing the cart across the river was my first thought? Idk if the food just needs to be in the cart, or if it needed to cross the river too... Either way it would be worth it
The first thing i was thinking was throw the cart over and put the things in ...
I like these types of videos with barley any laugh tracks
No laugh track at all, I think; there's a studio audience. I don't know if any of the British panel shows use a laugh track, but I can't think of one.
@@michaelccozens Even still if it's a real studio audience, it really annoys me and it it comes out forced the majority of the time.
@@ItsSkylah I can see how it can be forced when the audience is signaled when to laugh, but this seems far more genuine. I don't think they can really do marked "laugh" points when so much of the show is improv-ed. But, yeah; annoying and seems much more an American thing than a British one.
@@michaelccozens Either way, it's quite annoying to me even if it's genuine. I just can't ignore laugh tracks after I learned why it exists
I’m not gonna lie my first response was to throw the trolly aswell. Or just like carry it over the river depending on the weight
No need to put the trolley back up. It's faster to fill if it's at ground level and you just get on your knees.
Joe, you beautiful, hysterical, lunatic of a man 🤣🤣😆 the genuine happiness of him winning 🤣
Something filmed in Amersham, crikey!
Why were these earlier seasons so much funnier and better?
"A sack of rice falls over in Chiswick"
Joe finally won one!!!
4:33 This means he hasn't seen _the_ bridge. Felix hella lucky lmfao
I don't know if he picked it up off camera, but at 7:45 there is a piece of bread still in the river.
Yeah my first thought was bring the cart to the food by tossing it.
Am I the only one binging all of these ? 😬
It's crazy to me that this is called a river, here we would call that a creek
he didnt get the items over the river. He got the trolley over the river.
In fairness, the task didn't say he had to get the shopping over the river. It only said get the shopping into the trolley
@@dsimi415 Good point. TM often lives and dies on the exact technicalities of the task's wording. Lateral thinking often seems to be very much encouraged.
One of only four tasks that Joe *won.*
Could've been five tasks, if.. well... y'know.
"River" ??? 😂😂😂
I am dissapointed that nobody refered to this task as the trolley problem.
I might have to rethink my "ALL THE GROCERIES IN ONW TRIP OR NOT AT ALL" mentality...
...nah.
One time I didn’t feel like walking around to the open side of the cart corral so I just picked up the cart and threw it over the railing. (It also helped that I was a bit angry)
I would have immediately tried to chuck everything across the river.
I immediately thought put everything on the air mattress and drag it around
7:33, taskmaster pulled an Indian movie there.
Still cannot forgive the Potatogate Two for hurting Joe Wilkinson
... am I the only unnerved by throwing a bag of rice onto a baguette?
Sometimes you don't see bridges until you burn them... 😅
The taskmaster kind of looks like adult biff from back to the future 2
Catherine is BOSH
Until she’s asked to eat an egg...
4:29 Genuinely adorable reaction.
The title made me have seizures. But I’m in America also
Imagine a horse in darkness😳
So We're going to ignore Pi time!
someone could have completed this task in 0 seconds by making the assumption they had to put the stuff in the buggy, and going and getting it before the time started, would be a pain with no wheels but still doable.
Assuming can go very badly on TM, though. It occasionally works, but other times it's something Alex has foreseen and garnished with a bear-trap. I recall one task where they had to use the first ball they touched, for example, and lots of contestants idly touched a ball before they even opened the task.
I wonder what would happen if one of them just stopped reading at "Your time", then did the task, and then said "starts now".
9:23 Katherine in denial phase :v
If the Founding Fathers knew how bad American TV would be and how good UK TV is, the revolution would have never even started.
Katherine❤️
😂
Americans need a task master with comedians
I cant watch task master on tv anymore im so sad q.q
That's what I would've done, run through the water and throw the cart to the opposite side. It would've taken under a minute.
