Thank you for the training._

I've built a welder just like this with the same exact parts. Only issue I had was the relay on the timing board. Was not strong enough if I had the power up past a certain level. To fix this, I added a SSR 40 amp. Was an easy upgrade considering I had a small power supply for the fan. Mine all fit inside a computer power supply case. This ended up my favorite welder and 5 years later. I can break it out if need be. Think the ssr I used was a SSR-40-DA.

You heat the cell too long , proper spot welding time should be set maximum for 40 milliseconds, after this time 0.2mm nickel strip should hold strong to the cell. Try using NY-D01 spot welder controller.

But I have a series of doubts, it would be very good if you put important data such as the output voltage of the secondary of the transformer and also, even more important, is the link or specifications of the timer module used, if you gave us that information, the purpose of the video would be complete.

Your work is very good but I think you could make it more perfect. First you use the wrong welding needle, they sell special copper needle just for welding (3 or 4mm is ok). Second you shouldn't use those "primitive" dimmer and timer like that, they already have specified controller for spot welding (eg: NY-01) using BTA100 thyristor for power control and precise timer (minimum 10ms)

If a spot weleding takes more than 2 milliseconds, that welding is of no use. The machine you built uses more than 30 milliseconds. Nickelstrip burns and deforms. This kills the conductivity of the nickel strip. The power of the battery you made with this will be wasted on the nickel strip and weakened..!
