  • Pedego announced a slew of big new bikes this month, and we got to try out our favorite, the Pedego Moto. This brawny, two-person, class 2/3 beast leaves its competitors in the dust in so many ways. As Micah would say, "let's check it out..." electrek.co/2024/05/16/pedego...

Bought that exact same one about two weeks ago. Brought it home and rode it the first day. Charged the battery and turned the bike back on. Got an error code 15 and have been dead in the water ever since. Waiting on new parts. Supposedly going to take another week and then need to take it back to the bike shop. Spent $4k for a one day ride and then dead for a projected total 4 weeks plus. Thanks Pedego.

Man, that sucks. Glad you mentioned it here to warn others.
The thing with Chinese Manufacturing is an obsession with on paper specs which through impressive, never translate into Quality or Joy of use.

I upgraded from the Super 73, and I have no regrets. The responsiveness, torque, suspension, and ability to operate the bike in soft sand have made a big difference. I live in a beach town and ride mostly on the beach at low tide. I had no problem maintaining 20 mph heading into a 15 mph wind on the beach. I have two cons. The seat Is hard (I know they are coming out with a memory foam seat), but I wish the option were available at the time of purchase. The second is the class 3 is pedal only after you reach 20 mph. That said, I only use it on the street, and it's as fast as I need.

I can't justify paying $4,000 for this bike when there are way better bikes that offer more for almost half the price

If I were to build a tiny custom bike with 4k into them, they are simply mind blowing with all kinds of useful features and safety built in with very fancy paint jobs! I call them hidden sleepers & can do 70mph & power climb any hill with ease. 4k may sound like a lot but when u have a tiny build with high speed they must be stable excellent balance and very comfortable when hitting potholes or off road or they aren't worth building!

I dont see anything about this bike that's so great it justifies the high price. My Mihogo has many of the same features and cost me well under $2k. You didnt mention a torque sensor, which to me is a must at that price point.

I have one. It has both the Torque and Cruise options available.

Pedego bikes are overpriced for what they offer!
