True but Stolas is a Goetian (think that is the spelling) prince, so unless Viv says he is one of the Sin Princes, I doubt he is that much stronger (if at all) than Alastor. To be honest, I think it would more less come down to wits and wiles to determine whom is the "better" of the two. Alternatively, battle could just come down to song/dad jokes. Do not ask why part of me wants to see that and then everyone be like "riiiiiight we... We are just gonna go" and then eventually just hear them say "oh yah. Nah, we briefly called a truce and have showdown again this weekend".

That actually makes a lot of sense considering he mentioned back in the pilot that his dad 'shut down his dreams' So maybe he comes from a rather shit family who looks down on him, which caused him to seek out that validation as a clown. He probably then found out that he was good with guns when he maybe snapped after being a clown didn't work out. And now he seeks out that validation and love with his coworkers. Maybe he coddles Loona because he never got that as a child, and maybe he stalks Millie and Moxxie because he's secretly jealous of the fact that they have eachother, while he doesn't believe himself to be worth of being someone's husband.

Before being a clown he was a trio act with his siblings, after they abandoned him he worked alone as a clown and it's very heavily implied that he was in a relationship with robo fizz at some point. When that didnt work out either it just kicked him ever further down the hole of depression. Blitzø seems to have an attraction to everyone as he seeks their validation, everyone that is except for stolas, the one being in hell who actualy loves him. As blitzø sees himself as unlovable he cant possibly believe stolas is telling the truth and that's why hes so moody around the owl, he thinks stolas is playing him like everyone else had. In contrast stolas is a married man who halfway through his marriage realised he was gay and due to this cheated on his wife whom he was once happy with and had a daughter with, this has caused stolas to also see himself as unlovable. Both men are in deep depression and find a common happy ground when fucking. Riddle me this, is blitzø truly hates stolas as much as he acts like he does, why does he keep stolas' number on his ohone? Why does he pick up the phone? Why does he keep fucking stolas at all?

The 7 rings of hell. Based on Dante’s inferno, are the different levels of hell, realms, each representing a sin. each ring has a prince and a purpose, apparently. Loo loo land Is located in the greed ring, I think.

If you watch closely you notice that the portrait of Lucifer and the images of Mammon on the money in Hell they are portrayed as a circus ringleader and a jester respectively. This implies to me that the Seven Rings of Hell refer to a massive Seven Ringed Circus with the rulers being circus themed rather than Dante's Inferno. Truly a comical revelation and oddly appropriate if I'm right.

Fun fact: it is never stated what the fruit actually is. Since the mythology is Middle Eastern it is more likely the fruit is a fig or pomegranite. The fruit being an apple is very a Western concept, just like the modern look of Jesus (white skinned Jesus with the light brown shoulder long hair is modelled after the son of an Italian noble man, seriously go look it up).

7:23 "What's a chemical peel?" It's skin treatment where you soak weak acid into your face. It's not _that_ painful, usually just discomforting. This will cause your skin to start peeling off within a week or so. It's an aggressive way of making your skin smooth. You can find videos of people documenting their experiences about it on CZcams.
i do not reccomend doing it yourself though, if this is a thing you absolutely must do, go through a doctor, one fuck up and youll end up scarred or blind etc
@@alleycat3449 I honestly do not recommend it at all, because it is terrible for your skin in the long term. Anything that causes your skin massive damage like that just increases wrinkles and the likelihood of developing skin cancer.
I would only recommend that if you have really bad skin and I mean really bad. There are better treatments though.

He's scary because he's that powerful despite being a human soul, because otherwise human sinners are apparently the bottom of the totem pole in Hell. All of the people in that shot showing the strongest beings in Hell when Vaggie is talking about Alastor are apparently more powerful than him, but he still IS in their league.

@@theduckgoesmoo Bad Luck Jack is very special because of its origin. It's based of Viz's old comic Zoophopia, which at one point was going to have a demon/angel arc. Viz eventually decided, however, to make that arc into its own entire story, putting Zoophopia the comic on indefinite hiatus and turning focus to her new project called Hazbin Hotel.
Also there is planned to be a short series of Zoophopia shorts.
In terms of powerlevel, i'd say alastor and stolas are even as long as stolas has his book, but without the book i'd say my money is on the radio demon
Stolas is a hellborn demon and we see at the end of this episode that he has powers even without his book. His book is mainly used to do his job.
@@47ratsinahoodie true that, but don't forget that alastor has overthrown demons who were dominant for centuries, i wouldn't say its that much of a clean cut when we talk powerlevel. Just from what we saw so far i very much would say they're at least even. Stolas has his portals and the stone gaze, but alastor has some kind of portal too and also can change reality to some degree (turning rooms from wrecked to at least decent as seen in the hazbin pilot shortly before the arrival of nifty), also he too can teleport others, even without their consent.
@@Dabo2321993 Yeah, that's true. Until we get a full scope of their powers and how well they can use them, I don't think we'll ever have a definitive answer. Now that you mention Al's powers, I'd say he could at least hold his own against Stolas, just cause we don't know all his powers yet and because Al would probably be the kind of person to surprise attack to attack when his opponent least expects it, which would give him a quick edge (as we saw in the HH pilot).
Yeah, Stolas is immensely powerful. He just wanted to find a reason to bring Blitzo in.
A lot of it is speculation but it seems like Stolas and Stella got married for political reasons arranged by their families. In the aristocracy, it was rather common for nobility to have a bit on the side as a mistress or consort. Back then, you could even be a powerful figurehead for being a king's mistress e.g. Madame du Pompadour. Seems like Stella was more peeved that Stolas played rocking chair with the lowest class of Hellborne demons in their bed. As for Stolas' aggressive urges, when you're top dog, there's a fantasy of losing control. Seems like he's only going along with these deals and setting them up because, to him , getting his vitamins B and D are his second priority.

He's broken 2 phones and lost another in episode 1, so he's gone through 3 . Interesting thing is last ep. when he dropped the phone that Stolas called him on, he still had another phone that he used to call Loona on. This suggests he has a burn phone just for Stolas and doesn't want to give Stolas his main number.
Stolas and Octavia are the best of the episode, also Millie and Moxie are cute as when millie hugs her thing...so cute.
Stolas is one of the Princes of Hell, based on the original Stolas listed in the Ars Goetia book. By magic level he is very powerful. Also if you look closely on posters in Loo Loo Land, and the paper that Fizz was holding, you will see mentions of Lord Mammon (Prince of Greed) and King Lucifer (father of Charlie from Hazbin Hotel and ruler of all of Hell)
Goetia = Ars Goetia, an ancient book describing the members of Hell’s nobility and what knowledge and powers they bestow upon the person who summons them.
In Stolas’s case, he teaches astronomy and herbology.
The voice actor for Stolas is Bryce Pinkham. He has an extensive musical theater background.

Lucifer looks like a ringleader, Mammon appears to be a clown. I'd say Hell is like a Seven Ringed Circus more than anything.
If you want to watch more things "related" to Hazbin Hotel/Helluva Boss i would personally recommend the animatics/highlights of Ashley Nichols's "HunniCast"... it's a series of highlights from the streams called HunniCast that are hosted by the already mentioned Ashley Nichols (she worked in Hazbin) alongside with her boyfriend Michael Kovach (Angel Dust's voice actor) and Edward Bosco (Alastor's voice actor), and ocasionally they also have other guests in their streams such as other Voice Actors/actresses and workers from both shows and even sometimes they have Vivienne Medrano (Vivziepop) herself as a guest.
The highlights are fan-made animatics of some of the most funny and hilarious moments from those streams... but it's your decision if you want to do reactions to those.
There is already a Playlist of all of those animatics in Ashley's youtube channel (Ashley Nichols Art), the playlist is called "HunniCast ANIMATED".

It is an actual real-life book that describes different ranks of demons, their hirarchy in hell and how to summon them. According to that book Stolas is a Prince of hell that is part of a Family of demons called the "Goetia", and his area of expertise is Astrology (hence the book and floating in space and stuff) and Plants (whch is why his House is stuffed full of them)
I don’t know why but that one IMP that just grabs Stolas at the end just reminds me of a kid tackling an adult or parent not k trying to kill him.

You know the cartoon about assassin hellspawn thats absurdly over the top is deep when a whole episode is dedicated to confronting real life parental and child issues and taking the serious talk legitimately seriously despite being a comedy and making it work way too hard. Never had those issues thank God but this is ungodly tasteful in its delivery despite being an almost beyond offensive comedy and it deserves so much respect for that.
I love how in ep 1 Moxie saves Millie by breaking free of the ropes and stuff. And then in this episode Millie is just there for Moxie whenever needed. They’re honestly such a cute couple
7 rings is into the 7 rings of hell, partly inspired by the 7 deadly sins and Dante Alighieri's poem, Inferno
While Millie is more into killing and slaughter she is better with physical and melee attacks, moxie is the sharpshooter. Its what brought him to millie's attention.
Fizzarolli seems inspired by spinel with how he has the stretchy limbs and has a rubberhose style in animation

She is his last untold story. Imo there is hardly a better way to show this in a cinematic way, than him looking at her and the camera pointing at her big, innocent eyes.
Stolas' form, as well as his interests/hobbies (astronomy, botany, and gemology) are based upon the descriptions in the Ars Goetia (AKA The Lesser Key of Solomon), a collection of texts of unknown authorship, that first appeared in its complete state during the mid 17th century (the earliest portion dates back to the 13th century).
The text describes 72 high ranking demons in hell, of whom Stolas is a prince (or Great Prince). He s described as being birdlike in appearance (a crowned owl), with disproportionately long legs.
As was the case for many of the demons included in the Ars Goetia, Stolas was known to be quite willing to share his knowledge about his interests...he just neglect to mention that the real goal is to use that knowledge to lead humans astray, and have them consumed by sin; thus adding another soul to his army.
That last bit isn't an exaggeration, as the Ars Goetia outright states that he commands 26 legions of demons.
So, that's the reason for the celestial lullaby, and the zebra eating houseplant.
Edit: When in doubt of the reason for a particular plot point, like the mascot being an apple, just think about how such a thing would apply in a Biblical setting. Adam and Eve were banished from the Garden of Eden when they ate the fruit from the tree of knowledge (an apple). They gave into temptation, and fell from grace as a result.
To demons, that's not a bad thing, so having an amusement park built upon such a premise isn't all that odd.

I know this is like 2 years later, but I looked through the comments and couldnt find anyone else saying it. Loo Loo Land is a copy of Lu Lu World. Lu from Lu Lu World is short for Lucifer, and the reason the apple is a bit motif everywhere, is because the devil convinced Eve to eat the apple of knowledge which kinda screwed humans over. At least according to the bible.

While Viv did answer that Stolas is stronger than Alastor, she added that even she is unsure. It’s because their powers work differently so it’s hard to figure out. It’s like the Immovable Object vs the Unstoppable Force.
IMO, I don’t think it really matters. Strength isn’t everything when it comes to demonic powers

According to the official Helluva Boss twitter account, Loo Loo Land is located in the Greed Ring. Only Hellborn Demons have the ability to traverse across any of the rings, whereas sinners-turned-demons are confined to the top-most ring, the pride ring.

According to Vivziepop Stolas would be the more powerful of the two. From what I can gather, Alistor is a mortal soul who gained a fuckton of power somehow (it hasn't been revealed how yet), where as Stolas is one of the more powerful demon lords who are native to Hell.
