    I've been binge-watching videos about watch straps over the last few days and this one is by far the most informative and helpful. Thanks!

      Thanks Steven! This is exactly why I made this video. I too was like you and could not find any clear concise information on straps. So I had to do some hard research and lumped all my intel into this video. I'm thinking of doing the Perlon strap next since I really like the way those braided style straps pair with certain watches.

    The Zulu is installed incorrectly- the point of the double rings is for the strap to pass through and then back loop over the second ring and out through the first like a D-ring buckle- that way if the strap gets snagged on something the strain is taken up by the strap part that passes under the watch instead of snapping a spring bar off the watch. This is the total point of the Zulu strap and what differentiates it from a NATO one.

    @davidsparling3505 Před 4 lety +13

    Correction. A true Zulu strap passes under the spring bars ONCE. The NATO passes thru twice, which is overkill in my opinion, and usually they are so long you must tuck the excess into the side which I find unsightly. To each his own. The Zulu performs the same function without 2 passes underneath the watch head raising the watch unnecessarily high limo.

    11:24 - In the ZULU you should pass the strap over the second the keeper (of the second strap end) and under the first keeper (relative to the end or the strap).

    • @olaf2046

      Good question. Idk probably the Swiss or Germans. Parts like spring bars are often outsourced to the cheapest and quickest when it comes to virtually all watch and strap makers.

      Not all Quartz are bad or cheap. They’re more accurate than automatics, just depends on what the wearer needs most. Luxury or practicality

      @@olaf2046 Zulu is a single strip of the fabric which passes through the bars and under the watch. NATO is the same with and a second piece over the back of the watch and the first piece passes through the ring at the end.

    You keep mistaking the two in your Video. This gets very confusing when you don't know the deference.
    Sudjust a couple of fixes.
    1. Re dub over your own Voice
    2. Write on the paper underneath your watch band which is which.
    3. Edit Labels in your video
