4 Ways to wear a NATO strap - Tutorial

- In this video I will show you 4 different ways to wear your watch on a NATO strap. First 2 methods will be pretty traditional, forwards and backwards. The other two methods will be ways to make the watch wear lower towards the wrist. Nato straps are a fun and affordable way to switch up your watch game a little bit :)
I've paired up with a few affordable watchband brands, if you want to get a strap and help me out in the process!

Last method is a game changer. I used to dislike natos for their bulky look but the sleek way looks so clean, keeps the buckle off your wrist, and having it at the bottom of your wrist feels much better. Thank you for showing us this.
Thank you! I’m glad to hear that you found this useful and that it changed how you feel about wearing nato straps! My pleasure mate!
I totally agree. The perfect way of wearing it, Thanks to Nordic Watch Channel
Except you have a baby’s diaper worth of dump under your wrist. Hated this method.
@@justmeeagainn Try a parachute strap, best of both worlds.
Yes, once you work that last one, there’s no going back to the traditional way of wearing a Nato,,,,ever! Thanks for this!
Have to agree the 4th position is fantastic. I didn’t know that there was 4 positions. Thanks a million. 😊
Glad to hear that! My pleasure :)
The last method is brilliant!
Thanks! It’s a good way to switch it up a bit👍🏻
I agree, feels SO MUCH BETTER on my wrist! Thank you.
You finally made me love my NATO with the last method. Thank you!!!
Glad to hear that! :)
Same. Thanks!
My pleasure!
Love the third one. The classic looks of NATO with lesser elevation
Thanks! I also like that one :)
Oh wow! #4 is a game changer. I just fell in love with nato straps all over again
Music to my ears mate :)
Wow, I agree with words below: Last method is a game changer.
I used to dislike natos for their bulky look but the sleek way looks so clean, keeps the buckle off your wrist, and having it at the bottom of your wrist feels much better.
Thank you for showing us this. I love only the forth method, and from now on it will be my final choose. It's a little more difficult to put on the wrist, but then it stays perfect. Congratulations
Very glad to hear you liked it and will be using the method :) Thanks for sharing and all the best!
This is one of the best tutorials! Thanks to you I now can wear the same strap in four different ways!
So glad to hear that! Cheers mate!
Wow, I was a bit sceptic when I took a NATO for my Seiko Kinetic, but your last method and the second last one makes it look so slim, unique and non dressy. Like others mentioned, definitely a cool hack!
Glad to hear that mate 😎
The 3rd method solves all of the issues I had with my NATO straps: improving fit and comfort while retaining the classic asymmetrical NATO look. Thank you for this video!
Awesome to hear that! My pleasure!
Best tutorials the way to wear nato strap, 3rd & 4th are awesome.
Glad to hear that! Thank you :)
Much appreciated! From now on, it will be #4 on my wrist.
That's awesome! Glad to hear that :)
To be honest , you have solved one of humanity biggest problem with that 4th way
😂😂😂😂😂
Hahah! Thanks for the laughs!
Wow! This is great. I never comment on videos, ever, but this was life-changing for me. I have a lollipop-wrist (prominent ulnar styloid) and the normal NATO method meant my watch always bumped into the bone and that was very irritating. I love wearing a watch but have suffered through wearing it just out of love. The third and fourth method in your video were CURATIVE for me. It means i can now wear my watch without discomfort. The watch no longer hits the ulnar styloid process on my wrist. It sits in behind it. Pure comfort to wear. Immediate fix. Thank you!
Super thrilled to get a comment like this! Thanks for letting me know, it really brightens up my day when I get a comment like this😊 And I’m more than happy to help! I hope you have comfortable watch wearing days ahead!😁
Thank you. I watched 3 or 4 videos with different methods and was just confused. All methods seemed worse than how I just threw it in out of the box. But the 4th method here has the best result, and you explained it very clearly. Thanks again.
Glad to hear that! Thanks :)
Thank you for sharing this techniques! It changes dratically our watches and give us more options that may suit better or be more comfortable!
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for the feedback :) My pleasure!
Thank you for a very helpful and straight forward video. I ordered my first NATO strap and it came with no instructions what so ever. So instead of winging it I watched your video and it came out better than I could have imagined.
Music to my ears! Happy to hear that this was helpful. Thanks mate!
Just want to say I enjoyed watching this video. I just found out about the NATO strap and this video was very helpful. I tried all the different ways and didn't really like any one of them until I moved the watch down toward the long end like you mentioned at 1:10. Now, my favorite is the traditional way because my watch is naturally very thin so a little height actually makes it look better.
Thank you very much! The traditional way is great for smaller watches imo :) glad to hear that you found your favorite way of wearing it 😎maybe if you get a nato on a bigger watch, you’ll like the other methods as well!
Last method is brilliant, definitely learned something today!
Thanks! Glad to hear that :)
I'm really excited to try the final version you demonstrated on my vintage SKX007 when the NATO strap I ordered arrives. Thank you for making this video.
My pleasure mate :) Hopefully it turns out great!
Fantastic video. I've just bought a few NATO straps after several years of not using them. When strapping the first one on the traditional way it didn't quite feel 100%. Found your video and the fourth method is exactly what I wanted at this point in time. Of course the great thing about NATO straps is flexibility and with these different ways of wearing them, that richness in variation becomes even greater. Thanks so much!
Very glad to hear that!! The bulky feel of the ”right” way to wear them can be a deterrent for many, including me sometimes. My pleasure!🙂
This is great. I just ordered the Seiko Snoopy edition with the NATO and this will give me all these options to wear. This will be my very first NATO strap. Very useful video!
Glad I could help! Very happy to hear that this video was useful :) Cheers!
Always loved the NATO strap but never been a fan of the excess, that last method is a godsend! Thanks a lot for sharing.
Glad to hear that! My pleasure :)
Have to say that this is a really good way of describing something in a simple, practical way. 👍
Really glad to hear that! Thank you!
Great tutorial with clear instructions! Thank you!
Thanks for the feedback! My pleasure!
Wow - last method is the best thing I’ve seen for a very long time. Thank you!
Glad to hear that! My pleasure! :)
Thanks so much. The 4th method is exactly what I wanted!
Very glad to hear that! My pleasure :)
This was a game changer, specially the last one! Thank you very much for sharing
Glad to hear that! My pleasure :)
Man you change my Life with the Last Method.....Thanks !!
Haha happy to hear that!😂 No problem mate!
The last method is what I was looking for, looks great 👍
Glad to hear that! It's a good way to get a slimmer fit. Happy to help! :)
I never saw Nato straps the same again after that last method lol... wow. It's cool to have these looping options, even with 1 strap you can achieve multiple looks and feels. Props!
Glad to hear that! Cheers!
Love the last method, def the way to go for me! Thank you :)
Glad to hear that! My pleasure :)
Last method is my favorite. Thank for sharing, I had no idea

Thanks for the tips Nordic Watch Channel.
It really helps a lot 🙂
Glad to hear that! My pleasure :)
This is awesome! Recently considering purchasing single pass nato straps but figured I’d stick with double. Now we have options which is the fun part imho.
Thank you.
My pleasure mate! I agree, nothing to lose by getting the classic style :) You can always cut it!
These are all really helpful - I like the last method you showed. Thank you!
Glad to hear that! My pleasure!
The last method....Wow!! Thank you for sharing.
My pleasure mate! Glad to hear it was helpful :)
Thank your for your info, third method is perfect for me!
Glad to hear it mate! My pleasure👍🏻
Wonderful tutorial on wearing NATOs. Thanks
Glad to hear that! My pleasure!
Thanks for this! The fourth method addresses my issue with nato straps which is the excess fabric and bulk. Cheers!
Very happy to hear that! Cheers :)
Bought my first NATO yesterday and I'm gonna try all of these out to see which I find best. Great video!
Thanks! Hope you find a favorite method :)
Thanks. Definitely prefer the last method. Looks and feels so much better 👍👍😊
Glad to hear that mate :)
Thank you very much. I like the last 2 methods to make the case sit closer on the wrist.
You are welcome! Glad to hear it was helpful! I also like that about the last 2 methods :)
Nice video - good work
Thank you very much!
The sleek way is the way to go with Nato for me from now on. Thanks Mate!

Thank you so much! Glad to hear that. Stay safe as well!
Thank you so much! It was really helpful! I like NATO straps but I believed I couldn't wear them because the excess strap was showing awkwardly. Your video was a game changer! :D
Really happy to hear that! :) Glad to have helped!
Thank you for the video it was wonderful to show 4 ways of wearing a nato strap
Glad to hear that, cheers!
A very clear, helpful video. Thank you very much.
Glad to hear that! Thanks for the feed back and I'm glad you found it useful :)
Another fan of method #4. Thanks! I’d never seen that!
Glad to hear it!
I just bought the duro finally! I got the gold/silver colorway for now with about 8 nato strap colorways. I am fan of the last method as well!
Glad you like the last method! Casio Duro is always a solid choice :)
Wow, wasn't aware of the last method. Adjusted mine and I love it!
So glad to hear that!
last method rules! thanks!!
My pleasure :)
Thank you! Brilliant wearing my natos with the last method and enjoying them now as opposed to thinking meh about them. Subscribed!
Happy to help and I'm really glad to hear that :) Welcome aboard!
Awesome, I appreciated the options
Glad to hear that! :)
Thank you so much mate! A new nato world!
Love hearing that! My pleasure!
Thank you for this wonderful guide, amazing,,,,,,
Glad you enjoyed it! My pleasure :)
Thanks ❤❤
My pleasure! :)
I'll echo what the other comments say, the third and final version is a game changer. Been trying to like Nato's for 20 years with the original method and it's just too bulky! Final way takes an extra few seconds for me to pu the watch on, but well worth it. Thank you!
Glad to hear that! Time to finally start enjoying nato straps then :) My pleasure mate!
you could also cut off that extra bit, or buy a sinlge pass nato
@@RorytheRoman true but then you wouldn’t be able to wear it the original way any longer :) This way you can switch anytime you want!
very useful and professional👍
Glad to hear that! Thanks for the feedback. I'm glad you found it useful :)
I just discovered this video while searching for replacement straps! My father gifted me a nice Seiko for my birthday but it has a NATO strap and I hated the way it looked. I feel the excess strap material in method 1, 2 and 3 draws attention away from the design of the watch. After watching your video and discovering method 4 I have decided to keep the strap, it looks great now. Thank you!
Glad I could help! That's the best thing about making videos like this :)
I have quite a few NATO straps and they have different lengths. Some are too short to fold over and tuck in, method #one. It's always nice to have options.
Yeah they do come in several lengths. But like you said, it's good to have options :)
The last method. Thank you 🙏
My pleasure mate!👍🏻
Thx so much for this great video. So now I prefer also the last way for my Nato. It looks great and feels so good. Best regards from Bavaria. 😉🤗
Bitte! Really glad to hear that mate! :) Greetings from Turku!
Great vid, thanks. I'm new to NATOs and like that last way you threaded it the most. I've always preferred a snug fit on my bands and think wearing it this way will also make it less prone to snagging.
Thank you! Glad to hear you found it useful! Natos are great, but they can be a bit bulky sometimes, so it’s definitely a hood way to wear them in a more slim way.
@@NordicWatchChannelI bought a '63 Seagull last week and a Benchmark Basics leather nato, the last technique is the only way to go with a warch that has a 14mm height. Wearing a nato any other way seems alien to me now regardless of case size.
Yeah it's a bummer that a thicker watch starts to be difficult to combine with natos. Glad to hear this helped tho :)
Thanks man , the 4th way worked wonders
That's great, my pleasure!
Awesome video. Simple, clean explanation. I didn't even know the last method you showed. It looks really sleek and clean that way. Love it. Now I need me a new nato strap to try this out on my field watch. Thank you!
So glad to hear that! Thank you for the feedback :)
Yes :-) Thanks
My pleasure! :)
This is great. Thanks! I just got some NATO straps, and was befuddled, even after watching a couple other videos - I have thin wrists, and the 3 loops & the buckle and excess end were looking bulky and not good... But your 4th option works great!!
My pleasure mate! Glad to hear it was useful!
Last method the best
Glad to hear that mate! :)
that seiko and strap look so nice together
Thanks! I also like the combo :)
Very nice video. I tried the 3rd & 4th methods and they both worked great; however, I also found out that you need to be aware that these NATO straps do come in different lengths. Personally, I like my watch to sit loose on my wrist, as such I will need a slightly longer strap.
Thanks! Yes they do. There is a surprisingly large variance when it comes to the length of the strap!
Hot take: Second method is perfect. The bulky fold is kinda cool as long as it's only facing me.
Last method felt a bit scratchy and requires too much set up for daily use imo, but I love the versatility
A valid point! Glad to hear you found a method that suites you! 8)
Brilliant, thank you for sharing!
My pleasure mate :)
Thanks for the tutorial… first and last made the most sense…
FYI… not sure why you wore the gloves as the tutorial was about the strap and not the watch so no one was focused on finger prints… 😊
Glad to hear it! Yes I know but fingerprints are not the reason I wear gloves. I wear them because people easily pay attention to lon/short nails or dry skin or other stuff like that. Gloves make everything nice and neutral and doesn’t draw any attention😊 I sometimes mention this in my videos, where gloves don’t make sense. Thanks for the feedback and thanks for watching😊
This video is brilliant.
I’m from America.
I hit like.
I subscribed.
And I saved this video.
The last method makes me feel like James Bond!
Thank you for the taking the time to show how to do the different methods. CHEERS 🎉🍻!!!
Thank you! I'm glad to hear that and also glad to have you as a subscriber :)
Cheers from Finland!
