- My accelerator pedal all of a sudden went very sloppy and I lost power. After a bit of research I found this 30 second fix that worked for me.
The procedure seems to reset the response between the pedal and throttle. Apparantly it can work for other VW group vehicles too.
You sir are a scholar and a gentleman. I was stunned that this fixed the problem. Thank you.
Bought a mk5 golf 2.0 tdi two days ago, yesterday engine light came on, plugged the obd reader in and came up with throttle actuator control motor circuit, thought I’d be paying out hundreds to have the part replaced, but did this and it worked! Engine lights off and car feels mint!
You deserve a huge hug my friend. Had a problem between shitfting there was always a turbo lag of some sort and how there is none the car feels like never before and im so glad you showed me that
You're a legend, worked instantly.
My problem is fixed at 2:34 am Heading down to Cornwall in the middle of the night in my T5, amazing worked a treat
I can't believe this actually works! I got a flat battery on a VW 2002 Mk4. After recharging the battery I got a few warnings on the dash, the idle was really weird -- going up and down, and throttle was completely unresponsive. Did exactly what you described in the video, turned it on and everything back to normal! Thank you so much!!!
I have same problem flat battery.. after recharging I noticed that the turbo lag has increased and reduced boost pressure. Did u have same problems?
Sir a big hug from UK 🤗I have a VW golf Mk5 1.9 diesel I had a similar problem last week it was like even on a third gear the revs was to high, felt like I was dragging and forcing an elephant, did ur procedure and miracle happend, now I have more power than before, smoother drive, better fuel efficiency and most of all the shifting is like wow I can change gears with my finger, thank you so much.
You are a legend . I did exactly what you said and it worked instantly .
You just saved my life, good lucks my guy.
you sir are a legend, fixed the issue with my other half’s Audi 2L
Thank you sir I now have a new car 😁 I bought it 6months ago and its never drove this well before I did that procedure thanks again.
Worked a treat! Thank you for sharing!
Brilliant answer to my prob... Worked straight away.👍👍👍
Hero. Worked first time and I did exactly as described in the video. I had the same problem with the same car.
This is really genuine, IT fixed The problem!!
Thank you so much.
Your method absolutely worked.
Worked like a charm. Wonderful!
Thank you very much for your tutorial very helpful. 👍🏼
This works great. Thanks for this video👍
No words to descibe my thoughts ryte now, worked like a charm, thank you so very much, frm singapore vw GLI
Did as you instructed on my 2009 VW CC 2.0l TSI. Worked like a charm my friend! PS. I thought it was my shoes as well lol
This worked on my Golf mk7. Many thanks!
Absolute legend 👍
so i had no hope that this would actualy do anything BUT it did , feels like a whole new car , what i noticed : the noise got reduced a bit when just cruising ( i do have a res and backbox delete , mk5golf 2.0tdi dsg ) , better fuel economy ( on the same drive i usually do got -1.5 to 2 L/100km , and now i can finally module the power because before it was either no power or all of it at half throttle , also the car when driven fast doesn t need to be fought it s like smoother even in sport . i would like to thank you for this
My car power went and didnt turn on. It seemed like accelatorator or gas was not working. I did this reset after watching this video and it worked...I think EGR Valve needs cleaning. Thanks for sharing
BRO YOU ARE AMAZING, THANK YOU
Did mine yesterday and wow 😯 so much more power talk about the car now drives like it should
You saved me lot of money on my gold 4 130hp 4motion. Just did it and it fixed it
ok, first want to thank You for sharing!
My problem was too sensitive throttle pedal. I couldnt set rpm to 1300rpm for example... on neutral. When i slightly pushed pedal, rpm imediately raised to cca 1800.
I replaced throttle pedal for new one, but nothing changed.
After your procedure, pedal respond correctly, like new car.
passat 2013, 1.6tdi, dsg
I performed this reset and it seemed to "wake up" my Porsche Cayenne TDI throttle response. WOT from a start had the traction control kicking in when the boost came on. :-)
Same here , thank you very much !
I will do this procedure. If it works, you are the greatest.
It worked?
Hi wonderful tried this after watching this video and it worked although at a delayed pace but when i actually took the car 2007 golf Mk 5 2lt tdi 140 for a run the the further i proceeded the better it became it was like the car was learning my driving habits and eventually it totally righted itself .Ho ray back to normal and my problem was a Hard pedal only half revs no matter howi hard pressed it was like limp mode.Once again Thank D
Thank you so much!
Great tip ...✌✌✌
I'm sat here reading the comments thinking this won't work for me, Well it did.
Mk2 Seat Leon 2.0 TDI, just changed the boost solenoid because that died amd was left with a massive delay from the turbo. Top man. Nice one!! I get limp mode when boosting in 5th gear, any words of wisdom? Lol 😆
Yo mukka what did ya change on ya leon ??
N75 ???
Let me know
does it also work for a polo mk4 petrol model?
I did this procedure to a 2009 VW Golf 103TDi. The throttle now is more responsive & instant. The DSG engages quickly & smoothly from stand-still. The DSG selects and holds gears differently than before. The engine is quieter and after a few days driving, the diesel knock i was experiencing sometimes after getting back in the car having driven it & parked for a while is gone or so reduced that inaudible. The engine now seems to purr.
How long this will stay like it is?? But re-doing the throttle tweak is a 30 second exercise so easily repeated as required.
I had done a DSG re-calibration with VAGCOM days before this throttle tweak and the down change clunk was reduced but not completely. The throttle tweak seems to have improved the down change as well but not fixed it :(
I have previously tried variations of this tweak but this one seems to have worked.
Thanks for sharing.
holy MY GOD WOW!! ive been searching for months upon months to see why my a6 2.7t that was once a stallion and lighting quick, seemed to turn into mush and an old honda civic with 150 hp or something. I looked at my turbos, my boost line pressure, my wastegates, my gaskets to see if there was a leak somewhere. I looked at everything! no codes were being thrown. I brought it in to have it inspected. nothing was wrong! my brain was rattled! My car was slow now :( i KNEW it had that power there like hell with my twin turbo setup.
it started doing this thing where i could barely even dart out in an opening in traffic unless there was a BIG opening because my audi would not even accelerate hard at ALL when i mashed the pedal. there would be a pretty big delay. It get to the point where I could be FLOORING IT and the power wouldnt hit until after 3200 rpm..it was terrible! and it wouldn't shift to the next gear until 5000 rpm or so....it was getting ridiculous! I remember when I bought this car it was a FUCKING BEAST just launching like mad. But over the course of the last few months, it was loosing stallion status and getting to be like a turtle!! why? now i know! because I'm overall a defensive conservative driver and was driving like a grandpa, trying to see the best gas mileage i can get. Driving the best possible way, and barely letting loose on the pedal! THATS why! It learned my driving style and compensated the power and the accelerator FOR that style. kind of like "oh, this guy drives like this. no need to put more power to the throttle" type of thing. These cars want to go! they need it! it WILL learn your driving style! incredible smart cars.
You saved my life with this! i was rattling my brain over and over. I was getting to the point where I was going to clean my throttle body again or upgrade something. I was getting pissed off that my twin turbo 2.7t audi was acting like a fucking 1998 honda civic! LOL. This completely unleashed ALL my power and it's a fucking beast again! THANK YOUUU :D
Great video, thanks!
Glad you found it useful
@@Strum145 Wil it work on a 2.0Tdi Audi A4 b7?
Running downstairs to try this 🏃♂️
What is different “dsg reset “ and this ?
Almost same steps.
Huge difference for the 3rd time
Hahaha... Bro thanks thanks thanks it work... 👊👊🙏🙏
Is this only for automatic transmission or manual also?
Does this have to be done again once the battery is removed or does it save itself? I've just done on mine worked a treat thanks alot 🙏
Do you have to release the accelerator before turning off the dashboard or after? You did it before but I see a lot of videos doing it later.
Will it work with all electronic throttle cars?
So I haven't tried this yet, but my 1.9tdi stalls out whilst driving, has happened 3 times now, I thought fuel issue but changed anything to do with fuel and its still doing it. Could this be the issue ?
This works for Manuel transmission cars?
I didn’t try this trick yet as im sitting in garden having coffee lol but will do right after this
Aww isi
Is this only for diesel golfs of does it work on petrol golfs? I’ll give it a go
Do you have to disconnect the battery first?
Does this work for mk4 automatic 1.9 tdi?
Does it work on the golf 5 GTI 2:05
Does it work for 1.4 tsi 2008 scirocco?
Did u keep ur foot on or take it off the accelerator before taking the key out please as u forgot to mention ur foot position upon removal of the key
He clearly says. After the specified time has passed. "lift your accelerator pedal, switch off and take the key out" 👍🏾
Think you watch a wrong video. It was loud and clear t me
Hi , I drive VW Golf 5 1.4 patrol engine and 80 ps . My RPM goes over 4000 when I am at 140 km in 5th gear . Is it normal?
Thanks.
yes. It's a weak engine with low torque and a heavy car. It needs to spin up to push the car properly. This is why it needs short gears. Same deal with SDI models, those turn almost 4k rpm on highway as well.
Does anyone know how often this procedure needs to be done?
I don’t know whether it’s placebo but I tried this on my 1.6 fsi and it feels quicker
Does this work on mk7 golf?
Hello,I’ve done that on my Golf mk6 1.6 TDI but after 2 days, my pedal went to the same sloopy response before this procedure. Any tips?
Hi, did you find out what should be done? i have the same car :)
@@webpro607 Well, not quite. It turned out that the problem was in the throttle body which had to be cleaned due to massive amount of carbon I had....
also works for a 2014 jetta
Can you use this method on a remapped car, turbo diesel?
Why not?
This procedure does not work for my golf mark5 tdi.
This resets the DSG and nothing else. So all you guys have faced is a DSG based issue.
i made my mom try that on my dads car and it worked kind of bc we had the throttle down for only 10 seconds
Can you do this after having it stage 1 ?
Why not?
Is this a joke or what. I'm hoping not. Really need it to work.
That freacking check engine light
1.6 fsi golf 5 im having an issue with my acc pedal it’s sloppy and i used to press down it felt stiff and car was flying and now feel so soft and car is not flying instead acting like an old man with a wheelchair
