- If you listen closely you can hear my voice start to fail me as I yap on and on about the F-14 and other things about the F-14. Also, sorry for the rain. There's kind of a tornado catastrophe apocalypse going on right now in the beautiful great plains of the United States of America (in DCS world) and the rain just started and wouldn't stop and is even going on now hours later as I type up this description that nobody reads. I wish i could say I've been cured, but i'm still pretty sure DCS caused my loneliness, and with these awesome modules, it's not going away, lol

Yeah ever since the AIM-54 nerf it’s fallen quite hard to the wayside b/c comp focuses almost exclusively on the more modern stuff

Interested in more F14 contention videos. I was new to fox 1 and started with the m2000, thought I was getting really good until I swapped to the F14 and realised how good the M2000 is.
I’m planning on keeping it up with the F14 since it is a more fun challenge, but I could use some tips vs M2000 and the Fulcrum/flankers.
I do always read the descriptions ;) i like some context on what i see.
Love the video, more tomcat would be great!
I’ll definitely do more especially if I can get some of my buddies to fly with me for some sweet scenic views

I just did a test on a custom dedicated MP server with a friend.
AIM-7 won't guide Vs jamming M-2000C only with F-15E.
AIM-7 shot by F-14 or F/A-18C will guide despite jammer ON, both in radar priority or jammer priority.
I can confirm that today July 07th 2024 the jammer problem is only with F-15E.

Loft works great when you are down low and fire at a target 10k' or more above you.
Just point your nose up lol, the loft maneuver kills the boost phase.

I can’t remember the exact name it’s been so long, but I’m sure if you just search “black cockpit mod” for the F-14 you’ll find it on the ED website
@@PrezDCS It looks much better than the clean cockpit mod I run. I’m going to have to try it out. It looks clean on the front panels but I haven’t seen the sides yet.

Nah he’s fine if you’ve got patience. I think a lot of people expect him to be better at the radar, but I haven’t had much problem with him the way I use it. You can always just silence him anyways
Jester is not amazing, but hes manageable; you gotta understand that hes very straighforward, only does what hes told. That said, in Fox1 fights hes not that big of a deal. Its more tricky to use him in long range Aim-54 engagements with TWS.
After HB releases the F4, they wanna backport Jester 2.0 to the Tomcat they said, and that improved version of Jester+new UI looks honestly amazing.
Otherwise theres parts I like about Jester, like the way he does callouts of enemies or so, does IFF, calls missiles and uses countermeasures when he sees them. Thats pretty cool.
As for the loneliness bit, I wish you the best. From my experience, I can only recommend therapy; doesnt fix it, but can help to find out why one ends up lonely.
@@termitreter6545 yep, Jester can be pretty useful when you know how to use him. Also, the video title and intro aren’t a real cry for help. I’m doing quite well these days lol. Thank you for the concern tho :)
My advice with jester is to get voice attack. Even the free version with up to 10 commands will do.
I have shortcuts for radar off/on (to be sneaky or make them think I’m cold even though I’m chasing with aim9 selected).
And also for jettison tanks, radar scan zones and to open the ‘target selection’ part of the jester wheel.
And of course I have key binds for radar ranges and lock targets (these can be normally bound via the controls menu)
It makes things so much faster and makes it feel much more like you are controlling the radar rather then asking jester.
The one thing I Hate hate hate about jester is that even when you point him straight at a datalink target, he does not seems to make it his #1 priority to get that guy on radar so you can lock him.
It seems like jester will scan the sky in the same way, regardless of datalink targets present. (A human rio can pick up a datalink target in seconds since the distance, altitude and aspect are known)
Problem is this server has fox 3 r77 and amraams..its 80s..
They rotate the missions between 80s and 90s. It' mostly on it's 80s variant. The 90s stuff is new. It will say on the mission name for the server in the browser what they are running.
