Cooking greens in a pressure cooker takes a fraction of the time like 20 minutes and they taste just as good as cooking them for hours on the stove. I tried it one time and I’ve been cooking my greens in a pressure cooker now for the past three years! I cook the meat in the pressure cooker first for 10 min and then I put 2 cups of water and add the greens and onions in and cook for 20 minutes. It’s a life saver! Literally lol
Sound great
Yes, I posted a video a year ago of how I cook Collards in my Instant Pot - czcams.com/video/9R843SDv09g/video.html
@@TannyCooks I want to get my first instant pot is there a brand you recommend or 3 you can? Thank you
@@beanetricemcdaniel6853 Hey there! “Instant Pot” is the brand of electric pressure cooker that I use. There are other brands, but Instant Pot seems to be the gold standard to me. @InstantPot company makes several versions/models of their Pot. Since we are approaching the holiday season, I would recommend shopping around for the biggest one you need at the best price for the cooking you do and you can also check if the Instant Pot you want has all the buttons for the functions you need, the number of functions can change per Instant Pot model.😊 That’s what I did when I bought mine. I have a whole playlist dedicated to Instant Pot recipes that you can look at as well for additional recipes ideas.
@@TannyCooks Thank you I’m and empty nester so mostly it’s just me and one more (son) when he visits( which is to much lol).
Young lady you is so much like me. I cut the thick stems off my greens and layer them, tear leaf apart and cut in smaller pieces. I use to empty BBQ sauce bottles and set them upside down to get all of it. But now I add a little coca cola in all the bottles and shake it up to get all the sauce. I wish I was there. Look so delicious. I would have bought 2 plates.
A woman after my heart!!
I had to cook every meal for my family.. my ex wife couldn’t even makes pancakes from a box
Love ur kitchen!! Would love to have enough cabinets for every cooking supplies I have..
Last house I built for my ex and kids had a huge kitchen, but had to sell everything, causs MO is 50/50!!!
After 33 years had a lot, but had to sell everything…
I’ve always had turnip and mustard greens, have made kale and turnip greens which is really good!!
But the other day my mom told me to try collards, so next time I go to store gonna get collards.
The bottom stems u cut off, save and plant in some good soil and u’ll always have greens all the time… so don’t throw away!’
CG
Nothing can beat a good barbecue ribs and Mac& cheese 🫕 ❤️👍
You should cut the stems up and put them in to because that’s where all the nutrients are
Some people I cook for don’t like a lot of stems in their greens. I personally like to juice the collard greens stems to get the nutrition from them
Everything looks great! Finally someone that makes potato salad the right way!
Thank you!!
A little pickle juice or vinegar celery seeds a lot mustard sugar shake it up pour it in with everything you added it will help
I keep celery seeds on hand, but I’ve never used them in my potato salad. Thanks for the tip!
Thank you for sharing, I’m Mexican but love trying different foods. Soul food looks delicious. I hope to try it some day.
Sounds awesome to me! I love cooking foods/recipes from other cultures for sure!!It is a great way to learn about and appreciate other people and this world needs more of that :-)
We love Mexican Food so please try Soul Food. I am sure you will love it like we love Mexican Food!
I agree❤️
And I too like making my potato salad the night before to marinate the ingredients. I don't usually put celery but next time I make it I'm going to do that. I usually put green peppers.
That celery gives it that nice crunch you can even saute it just a tad and throw them in so it doesn't have such a hard crunch big they are really fresh even though the wetness from the rest of the ingredients will wilt it down a bit... But I hear you I do sometimes use bell peppers I love the contrast you know a little bit of red an green just for the contrast diced real small, an flavor of them (not much a flavor but to me it is🤷🏾♀️) it's just the celery is a traditional way...... Just like some like their potato small or big or some like the salad like almost mashed potato consistency and some like the wholeness with a little bite to it an you get that crunch their either way when you find someone or you make a salad...
Fresh celery taste good
I use bacon or ham sometimes both ,and bacon grease in my collards. I use the same spice's except I add Mrs dash & I use wine vinegar and teaspoon of sugar it cuts the acid in them some folks here in the south tend to use to much sugar another thing I've seen some add to much water instead of steaming them. Looks yummy 😋.
Lord Have Mercy💖
I have cooked greens twice in my 62 years. I was taught to pick through the greens for worms, then wash them, and then cut them up. If you look for worms after cutting them, you are only going to find pieces. Well, do it the way you have been taught.
Congratulations
I never thought about adding celery leaves to potatoe salad it’s a different idea I like it I will try it 😊
Thanks! It’s a nice little addition.
Me either. But I do like a crunch to my potato salad so I will try.
Tanny, I LOVE the way you cook. This is the first time I've seen your program.I thought i was the only one who cut my eggs in my hand. I love collards. When i cook my potatoes I season them while cooking...a bullion cube , salt, pepper, garlic, onion. Then i add more seasoning when i make the salad. Im going to make the whole meal. Thank you❤❤❤❤
Awesome!!! Thank you so much!
The food looks delicious 😋
OMG! Best BBQ Beef ribs ever.
Just a suggestion, instead of turning the bottles upside down, just put some of the Dr. Pepper in each bottle to shake the bar be cute sauce loose.
Oh that’s a great tip! I didn’t think about that at the time, but it makes perfect sense now that you said it- I love learning things from other folks to make my cooking process easier! Thanks again😊
I love the meal you prepared those ribs looks nice and tender thanks for sharing
Girl you showed out with that meal. I want a plate of your delicious meal.
Thank you so much!
OMG! I just lost 70 lbs, just subscribed. I love to eat and try new stuff. So hopefully I won't gain it back, but when I see good food, it's a wrap!! Thanks!
Yummy 😋
Young lady this Sunday dinner looks delicious. Reminds me of Sunday dinner after church, when I was little. Thank you for the wonderful memories. May God bless you and yours.
Thank you!
You never lied about mild/bland cheddar cheeses. I've long abandoned mild cheddar in favor of sharp or extra sharp. I especially enjoy extra sharp on my omelettes and veggie burgers🥳. Have u ever substituted butter with olive oil in your mac & cheese recipe? The olive oil coats and binds the seasonings to the elbow macaroni. Also, try buttermilk instead of plain whole milk for more tang...and gluttony 🤭😅🤣.
I never used olive oil, interesting idea. I have definitely made baked macaroni and cheese with Buttermilk I had leftover from making my buttermilk cornbread and that mac and cheese was awesome!!! I will make to sure to make that again soon:-)
That's going to taste great. I keep different cheeses in my refrigerator.
Girl that’s a feast.🙏🏾❤️🎉
I try!!!
Whhhhaat? No cheese in the macaroni? That's how fights start, right there in the kitchen.
Exactly, lol!!!!
LOL 🤣🤣🤣
Tanny, I like your disposition and the manner in which you explain things. I am so happy that you chose beef ribs, a much healthier choice and I could not believe how tender and fall of the bone they were. Seems that you are an excellent cook. Thank you very much.
Food looks scrumptious, although I don't eat soul food anymore, except collard greens and occasionally potato salad.
Everything looks good 👌🏽. Can u plz share the rub you used on the ribs???
Thank you so much! Here is the Part 1 video )of this meal tutorial )where I show the seasonings in my basic dry rub at about the 30 second mark - czcams.com/video/x3zzwhWvmOQ/video.html. I also show how I clean my ribs and remove the membrane.
Everything looks Delicious 😋 and I love your presentation
Thank you so much!
Yummy
Thank you so much!
Wow 😍
Thank you friend!
Hey Tammie your soul food , looks great !
Turkey tails are very healthy !
Don' t forget the Louisiana hot sauce !
I had cheese Mac squares, it was cool but it was like being in an extra terrestrial zone. Be walking around holding a cheeses macaroni square like a piece of cake.
lol
That looks sooo delicious🍖wish i was ur neighbor👍ALOHA 🌺🤙🌺
Thank you so much! Aloha
I would absolutely love the greens Mac and cheese and ribs recipe!!! 😊
Oh, my goodness! Is that for the party or dinner? All your foods are looing so good and delicious! You what I love the most, Pork BBQ, it make me mouthwatering. Thanks for sharing and stay safe!!😍😍😍👍
Thank you. It was for a regular last Sunday Dinner for my family lol
@@TannyCooks All looking goods, love your food.
All i can say is if the food taste as good as the chef looks then i know it’s dynamite!👍🏿🔥😂
Awwww, thank you so much!!!!
Btw the food is "slayed" out for a Feast🤩
Your so right about the water, the water is run off from the nasty pig or chicken processing farm up the road💯
That water 💦 is full of bacterial waste😬
Glad you mentioned that Tanny, people need to know
I saw that on National Geography documentary 😦
I get grossed out every time I see someone not wash their veggies, lol
I just love this video!!!!
Thank you :-)
I also use dry mustard. Adds a little tartness.
Oh yeah, I love using that as well.
You are an amazingly talented and good cook. Remind me of my mother. I used to watch her.
Aww, thank you so much. I take that as a very special compliment! Are there any specific foods you would like to see me cook or discuss?
This looks amazing
Thank you so much!!
😋😋😋😋😋
I really had enjoyed your commentary and video! Just wish that I was eating some of that !
Looks very good but the ribs don't have no meat on them but beef ribs never do unless you get short ribs but like I said everything looks so good 😊
Thanks. I cooked these 15 pounds of beef ribs for 5 or 6 people, so everyone had a good helping of meat.
Looks good
Thanks! It was😊
I am tasting it😁👑❤️🔥

I know, lol! And it was right there on the counter. But when I tasted it, I knew I was missing that vinegary taste. Thanks!
Lord have Mercy. Girl, I’m going through breast cancer right now and I can only eat what I crave.
Can you cook me a Soul Food dinner? I live in Southern California, Covina California.

Cooking big meals are alot of work O used to do it for a living great job
You forgot the relish for your potato salad. Oh oh!😮
Yesss, lol
Mmm😊
I personally wash my greens first. One by one and I can see if there are any bugs and dirt. I also put salt in the water when cleaning.
Yep that is true
Everything looks delicious so far
Thanks!!

Sending you Hugs 🎉
Thank you
Thank you! Hugs back to you as well!
I agree. I love a stronger type cheeze in my mac aswell. My go to , is usually lots sharp cheddar, motza (for the cheeze pull) and then some swiss.... Swiss seems to be the secret to making it so good. Everyone always asks me how i make my mac and i always say its the swiss and i boil my noodles in chicken broth
Ps. 😮 How did i never knw ubcould peal that stringy part off of the celery .??? . well, my mind is now blown, ill be doin this trick frm now on lol.
❤❤❤
Thank you!!!
Man, that's a lot of work. Looks all good, except for the onions. ☘️💗🌼🎶💃🎶🕺
Por the soda in the jar of bbq sauce shake a little and whalahh it all with come out
Hi. When you cut that bundle of stem off I can use it to plant and make more greens? I agree we all should all be growing our own vegetation. Tfs...✌🏽🧡🙏🏾🌷
Do you really mean you can grow more greens from those stems? How can I do it? I thought you had to always use seeds..
Man!! That looks so amazing, new follower thanks for sharing!😍
Thank you so much and welcome! Are there any specific foods or recipes that you would like to see me cook?
Agreed 😂
Everything looks good! Did you use smoked paprika or regular paprika in your potato salad? Will the apple cider vinegar make it to tart? Thanks
Yep, I love to use smoked paprika 😊
You’re so beautiful love your smile, intelligent cooking tips and your cool hair cut. I’m also glad you didn’t feel the need to put on a ton of makeup to cook. Thanks for just being you, Tanny 😇
Use Stubs or Judge Joe Browns BBQ sauce.
I've used Stubbs before. I never heard of Judge Joe Brown having a bbq sauce, I will see if I can find it in my area!
@@TannyCooks I is online. Ahm say'n. I will season up rice, spaghetti and any dish that can be complimented with a tomatoes based sauce, using barbeque sauce, Hoison, catsup or Chili sauce. I am not a fan of Tabasco or hot sauce, but I have really enjoyed the slight tingle of Sriracha.
@@100BlaQRaok.el_1 Have you tried the Old Bay Hot Sauce? It has more flavor than heat like typical hot sauces - I really enjoyed it and I am typically a Texas Pete hot sauce girl
@@TannyCooks I will keep it in mind. I have not tried it.
♥️♥️♥️♥️
Thank you!!
Hi Tanny, everything looks yummy yummy to my stomach lol. Okay you won me over lol... I just subscribe to get your channel.
I definitely like you. You are so healthy. Now can I come over please? I know you’re tired but that’s how it was at my Mom’s’ house when I was growing up! Bon Appetite! 😊
Your food looks so yummy!
Thank you 😋
You should always mix your potato salad with a wooden spoon so that your potatoes don't get mashed up just sayin
Thanks for the tip!
Never thought of using a wooden spoon
Please list the ingredients for the dry rub on your ribs .Thanks again.
Nice, 👍🙏👌🌹❤️
Thank you very much!
Omg I feel like we are related ❤❤❤❤❤
Hey fam!!!!
New sub 🙌🏾🙌🏾💞
Thanks for subbing! What are some of your favorite foods or dishes?
Wow you can cook girl i love your smile keep up the good work you are so beautiful
I like your channel. Your cooking reminds me of my mother’s cooking. What is the name of your knives. They look very nice and useful. I like your techniques. 😊😊😊😊😊
*OMG! Where's the restaurant?* 😋
I can't cut my collars because of arthritis so I buy them in a bag already cut up
Arthritis sucks!!! I feel for you❤️ Buying the veggies already cut up is very handy.
Can you make a separate video on how you make your bake Mac n cheese
I am going to try and grow the greens. Do you sprinkle with pepper to repel squirrels?
Growing your Greens is such a great idea! I do a number of organic things to try and deter pests in my garden - my biggest pests are aphids and deer (not squirrels). I plant pungent plants around my veggies that pests don’t like French marigold, garlic, and green onions. I also make a spray with water, cayenne pepper, garlic, and a little Dawn dish detergent to spray on my veggies. I also use food safe diatomaceous earth and lastly, I buy tulle fabric from my local fabric store or Walmart to pin down over my garden rows like a big net to keep pests off my veggies.
Ultimately, nothing organic really works 100%, so I try to plant extra stuff since I know the pests will eat some of my veggies before I can, lol
@@TannyCooks thank you so much for these tips!!! I appreciate it
Try Tammy's salmon
Hollyoaks,TV's 30min😅
How Long Did You Cook The Ribs For On The Instapot
I pressure cooked the ribs in this video for 45 minutes on high pressure
I have never seen anybody use mustard in mac.che.ever !!!
Welcome to the seasoned side of Mac and Cheese! We use a variety of seasonings including dry mustard, a dab of yellow mustard, black pepper, onion powder, butter, and/or paprika in Mac and Cheese to spice things up as we see fit.
Do you cover your ribs when you put them in the oven
Do U Add Sugar To Your Potato Salad
I do not. And I prefer the taste of Dill Relish instead of Sweet Relish in potato salad. But many people do use sweet relish and a sprinkle of sugar. I like sugar/monkfruit in my green beans though.
