Tvillingarna Marcus & Martinus slog igenom redan som tioåringar i Norges motsvarighet till Lilla Melodifestivalen. Under sitt dryga decennium i rampljuset har de bland annat sålt ut en egen arenaturné i Europa och uppträtt på kronprinsessan Victorias 40-årsfirande med en specialskriven låt.
2016 utsågs duon till "Årets spellemann", det tyngsta priset på Spellemann-galan, som är den norska motsvarigheten till Grammisgalan.
Deras största hit “Elektrisk” håller fortfarande rekordet i Norge som den låt som legat längst på topp 10-listan med sina 66 veckor. Efter vinsten i svenska Masked Singer 2022 har de numera sin bas i Stockholm och arbetar med svenska låtskrivare och producenter.

I honestly think it's them vs Loreen for the spot in ESC. "Air" was a breath of fresh air (pun intended) in the competition till heat 3 and it still stands out. They were amazing!

I have been researching hard around different ESC-forums to get a feeling of what Europe think...and haven't read any comments about SITP yet. Meaybe their fans don't hang on EsC-sites though?
Even after Loreen winning ESC I still wish so much this could have represented Sweden, it is not about trophy but about giving way to young artists and letting all Europe appreciate their talents, I wish these boys good luck and come back again!

I think I'm gonna follow Melodifestivalen more closely next year. This year's entry seem to be at such a high level, it's kind of a Eurovision of its own 💕
Definitely. I follow it since 2016 and I remember some person saying Melodifestivalen is even better than the ESC. Maybe the songs should qualify for Melodifestivalen instead of the ESC. XD But for real, this festival is such a big thing in Sweden and that for a reason. I've got to know many treasures of songs here.

Swedish always deliver great pop music, it's no surprise a lot of the most successful producers and writers of the big popstars in the world are them.
Honestly this year has been so much better than usual, its always the same things but theres a lot of variations this year
Defently like eurovision, and i honeslty think i like it just a bit more because we have an mello app where we vote for free and get throfés and cards it's chill. And it's only 1 and a half hours and the finale is only 2h so it isn't as exhausting as watching esc which can go for like 3-4h. My last point will be that it spans over many weeks so we get to enjoy it for longer, no i lied the last point is that Daniel Norberg makes funny parodys of the songs each year and the nostalgia of it all.

I’m so bummed that they couldn’t go to ESC with this song. “Unforgettable” is not nearly as good as this song, and it’s a pity that it would be the song they would get known for in ESC, instead of “Air”, because this is genius.

@@patrikedstrom8425 That was the thought in 2008 when Charlotte Perelli was chosen too - she finished 18th. Sweden most often finish top 5. And Perelli is the second most succesful first return after a win artist. The most succesful was Alexander Rybak (record win in 2009 with 367 points and 169 points ahead of number 2) - but he only managed 15th. place when he returned in 2018. Johnny Logan is the only artist to have won Eurovision twice, and his second win was his 3rd attempt. Having won before is a huge disadvantage in Eurovision - most winners are first time entries. People like Carola or Dima Bilan, Carola came 3rd. in 1983 - won in 1991. Dima Bilan came second in 2007 - won in 2008, often are more lucky the second time. Statistically Sweden would be more likely to win with Eric Saade or Sanna Nielsen, who came 3rd. with Popular and undo respectively. According to the statistics, should Loreen become the entry, she is more likely to end far back in the final, than win. But should she win, she will become the first ever artist to have a 100% winning streak, and two wins on two attempts in Eurovision history. However, the Eurovision viewers tend to not be generous at all with points to previous winners. They seem to prefer first time entries, or artists who have placed high, but not won, before.

But if you ask me, Saade's Every Minute stood more out than Tusse's Voices in 2021. Add to that the advantage Saade likely would get from his previous 3rd. place with Popular, yes, sure I think Saade could win. Måneskin won with a rock song, France came second with a very old style song. A modern synth-pop song with an edge, like Every Minute, could have been a contender for the top spot.

Loreen was saved by the juries - without them Finland would have won by a landslide. The idea that the juries know better than the people is outdated, and frankly stupid. There likely were thousands of more qualified people voting as viewers, than within the juries. Whether singers, musicians, composers or producers themselves, or they are critics, music journalists, heads of record labels, talent scouts, AR, music teachers, or whatever. Therefore there isn't any point in a jury - other than to con voting members of the public of their money, by undermining the voting public of achieving what a majority of them have voted for.
my favorite so far of all eurovision songs i've heard so far. Hope they can come out for Sweden. Nice and danceable, good vocals, good staging, nice light show. This song makes me feel happy. Good Lucky guys.

Only one artist, Johnny Logan, have two ESC victories as performer - the second on his third Eurovision visit. Of those who have returned after 1 victory Alexander Rybak has the best result 15th. in 2018 after having won with an historic record score 367 points and 169 points ahead of number two in 2009 with Fairytale. Charlotte Perelli won the ESC with Take me to your heaven in 1999 - but only came 18th. when she returned in 2008 with the song Hero. 5 places better than 1993's winner Niamh Kavanagh, who came 23 of 25 in Oslo 2010. But at least she qualified for the final. 1998's winner Dana International didn't survive the semi. Those returning for the second time most likely to win are the likes of Carola (3rd. in 1983 - winner 1991) and Dima Bilan (2nd. 2007 - winner 2008), who placed high the first time - but didn't win. So Sweden, statiscally, was unwise not to choose Eric Saade and Every minute over Tusse and Voices in 2021. Since Saade's 3rd. place with Popular would have increased his winning chances returning for a second time.
Most ESC winners are first time entries. Artists performing for another country then their own also often are successful. From Canada's Celine Dion winning for Switzerland, to American Kathrina and the Waves winning for the UK. So Sweden statistically would be wiser to send Marcus and Martinus and Air, instead of Loreen and Tattoo.
