    I tried these in a fitting for fun. I’m more of a players iron guy. There were something I’ve never experienced. I hit them all over the face and they were long and forgiving even when you missed the sweet spot. They felt hollow and clicky but they were great irons. I could carry the 7 around 195/200 and it launched high and easily. If I were older and lacked speed, these might be in my bag.

    I've just bought these - my old Mizuno's (about 2005) were alright but not forgiving (I'm very amateur). Tried the cobra's at AG and even when I mis-hit, they were more forgiving and carried a good 20 yards further. When I hit it clean - I was getting to 175 yards with a club head speed of 81mph. I was very pleased!

    I've gone from the King Cobra II (90s), to the F6, and then to the F9 which I still game; they have all been great. I've been considering the LTDx because of the strong lofts, I'm 60 and chasing distance to replace strength of my youth.

    I was intent on purchasing Mizuno Hot Metal either forged or Pro's when I went in for a fitting, also swung Ping G425's and my current '96 Big Bertha's when I was asked if I wanted to try the LTDx irons. I was stating during the fitting that I care more about results than looks and my better golfer friends making fun of my clubs. I immediately noticed that these were lighter and overall better balanced. After about a dozen hits I switched back and forth with each club again and ultimately decided to buy the LTDx irons as the distance was consistent even with missing the sweet spot. The diagram was also clear as I had a small circular grouping on the "map" versus the other clubs. My friends will only laugh until I outplay them. I can't wait to break 90 consistently this year!

    I went in to get fit today planning to purchase the new P790's. The guy happened to have the Forge Tec and LTDX sitting there as well. The Forged TEC felt just like the P790 but longer. Then for the hell of it I hit the LTDX. I was floored, couldn't believe it. I was carrying a 7 iron 200+. The bad strikes still carried 165+. I purchased the cobra's. Can't wait to play them this weekend!

    I like the Rad Speed one length better. I like how they broke up the top line on the Rad speed. The LTD irons top line looks to fat. Just my preference. I ordered the Radspeed one length in 5,6 and 7 to replace my PXG 0211 5,6,and7. These are much easier to hit. They feel a little bit heavier and I like that. great vid.

    Went for an iron fitting today with no particular brand in mind. By then end of the session I'd tried pretty much all of the current GI irons and narrowed it down to these and titleist t300. These were slightly more consistent for me and when you caught one pure felt perfect. If it wasn't for the fitting process though these would not have been my first choice. I think if you're in the market for a GI iron a fitting is essential

    So... I wanted to watch this because I just bought these, and I'll be honest, my irons are by far my best part my game and if I can hit my short irons further, that's going to make things so easy for me, at my fitting, I hit my 7 iron 190 sometimes 200 carrying, so yeah, I'm going to be a sharpshooter from 200 and in with these irons

  • @brianjohnson5692
    @brianjohnson5692 Před 2 lety +4

    The last time I used arccos it did not allow you to designate that a shot was not a full shot therefore when I played a lot of shots that were knock downs or 3/4 shots it screwed up my full swing numbers. In the end after 40 rounds I ditched them.

    I think arccos has fallen behind shot scope on the plug in stat collectors. I like the new handheld shot scope that's coming soon, from what I can gather you tap the club to the unit and it tags the shot that way so you can collect stats even when you're playing by yourself of an evening and hitting more than one ball without it clogging up the data.

    Big chunky Arcoss sensors suck. They need to have more grip options with the sensors embedded. Or you can just log every shot as you play. Not as difficult as it sounds. Good review, Mark. Thanks.

    I have not liked the last couple of generations of Cobra irons because they used the back of the club as an advertising billboard and got the most brand messages possible on the back of it in a very "shouty" style.
    I am pleased to see that Cobra have toned down the advertisement on the back of the club but it still looks far to busy and shouty to me. Compare it to the clean lines of the Mizuno 225 and Cobra is very much the ugly sister compared to the Cinderella of the Mizuno.
    But the performance is pretty good, where you would expect with the lofts of this clubs

  • @gregloker4809
    @gregloker4809 Před 2 lety +1

    I'm not a Cobra insider, so I don't know for a fact what happened to the arcos grips. But I do know that Arcos has been impacted by the global microchip shortage. The cost of the sensors has skyrocketed. I would hazard a guess that they literally can't afford to put grips on every club knowing that some (probably fairly high) percentage of players won't end up signing up for a subscription.

    i've been debating looking at a combo set of these with the one lengths. maybe 5 6 in the OL (based on the strong lofts) and then 7-GW, leaving a bit of wiggle room with wedge gapping. But will defo be testing these against my Apex 19 combo set.

    • @tezzlacoilz
      @tezzlacoilz Před 2 lety +1

      Have you played OL before? I used to play cobra OL - their F9 GI and then their Cobra King Forged irons (the ones Bryson uses). Just curious why you wouldn't just go 5-8 in OL, then 9-GW and above in standard if you wanted to try and blend them. I assume you are going 5 6 in OL because you wanted that shorter shaft length to make it easier/more consistent with strikes? I would agree with not going lower than a 5i - I played around with OL 4i and i just couldnt make it work (i also tried their OL 4 hybrid) - always came in lower flight and to be honest not a big enough gap with the 5i.

      @@tezzlacoilz yeah blending them as a 5-6 OL and 7-GW in standard is what I said/mean. Might not have typed it out that well. But it's to have the more troublesome long irons at a shorter length then the irons I'm more comfortable with at a standard length.

      @@glennhoyland6147 yep makes sense mate. I really enjoyed OL. Made longer irons much easier to hit. Split makes sense. Definitely I would go variable length 9-gw. 8i neither here nor there. Good luck with it!

    Since I have the means to test irons and shafts.(I work PT in a golf store I did get to try these. I am LH and this is the only Cobra Iron head I have to try)
    It took a few shafts to get numbers I was looking for. The lofts are on the strong side and I was hitting the 7 iron 175 plus on average ( 10 yards longer than my PXG) but I was not getting the launch or decent I was looking for. That is until I pulled Gorge Costanza and did the opposite of what I thought would help.
    At 50 looking I was looking for lighter options and been leaning towards graphite shafts. What did I do ? I threw a 120 Modus Stiff shaft in set at 2 flat and just like that decent angles and launch window was what I was looking for.
    Will I buy theses this year who knows but that set up is now in my top 3 along with ZX5 and D9 Forged

    And Arccost doesn't work abroad when you are hiring clubs. !!! Just booked El Camaleon Mexico and thought about the comment I wrote this afternoon.

    Is having Arccos in the grip any use with a Shot Scope watch? I.e. does moving to plug in sensors make these clubs more accessible to golfers interested in collecting stats?

    I really like the iron except the weight of the head. You MUST pair the right shaft or the swing weight gets weird…fast!

    Had cobra f8's and now currently using (and no I'm not say that stupid Americanism "Gaming") Cobra Forged Tec. Best looking clubs out there in my opinion.

    quick random question Mark, what adapter are you using for you GCQuad that allows you to have one cord that splits into the 2 ports in the back of the GCQuad? I have a Quad and hate having to run 2 cables. Thanks in advance.
