I used to play the Yu-gi-oh! Card game when i was much younger but had no idea these cards had backstories or were related at all. Konami or whoever wrote these descriptions knew what they were doing and there is mystery and intrigue in alot of them. It's amazing how good these are they leave lots of room for the imagination by being vague.

seeing as how the card is ACTUALLY based on a dog that kazuki takahashi owned (hence him saying it is his favorite card and one of the few that he's made a personal artwork version of),my guess is that the other cards are either not canon or his way of mixing his love for his dog with his love of light horror.

My personal view of Mecha-Dog Marron is that Marron's owner, overcome by grief, created Mecha-Dog Marron to fill the hole. Thus explaining the different tag, It's a different being.
What I think is really cool is if you think about the lure of the lightsworn and you look at how perfectly marron's effect messes with their effects. You could see it as an alternate timeline where Marin is adopted by the lightsworns
About the the theory of Marron's timeline as he/she "lives", I reccently made one after watching this: what if Marron's owner made the Mecha Marron after he lost his hope to find his dog, and that made Marron easily corrupted by darkness due to that dog's negative emotion after he knew that he's been replaced. Just a hunch tho but when it comes to attack points, they theory u tell us is much more convincing. Really great lore tho
I would love if you did a story about dark magician Girl, the anime showed that she and mana are two different girls yet DMG is referred in the game as dark magician student, I’m genuinely wondering what happened especially with pendulum oracle mana recently coming out.

This is what I miss about classic Yu-Gi-Oh. Yeah, I know most of these normal monsters were completely useless, but I really miss the fact that most monsters used to come with flavor text that explained what the monster was.
