I am a white girl and grew up going to underground shows and I love PE BDP Wu Tang after all we all came from the same 2 people in Africa so we are.....evolved from Africa everything is everything
This track is a message but you need to have a brain and know history to understand it.One of thee best Tracks in the history of hiphop.Hard hitting and no murder.
it's so cool to see how that this breaks through time and space to remain even more relevant to this day. SIt down, read the entire lyrics of this track. It's a mind blower..aside from the other aspects of the song! Ultra classic with meaning and heart, from the start..who I trust...ME that's WHO. peace thanks for posting these clips. To bad the souls been bought and sold to the soulless who made it without a soul.
I think a lot of metalheads probably like PE. Aside from the Anthrax collaboration, Slayer samples, etc., they're also just so loud and sonically dense. Training your brain to make sense of all that sound at once is something that translates across different styles of music.
I'm 41 white male.I lived through this GREAT era of hiphop.Public Enemy wasn't racist. For those who say they were are to young to understand their message.Back in the day I went to the fear of a black planet concert at the spectrum and it was one of the best concerts I've ever been to and I've been to lots in my time.PUBLIC ENEMY IS STILL AS HARD HITTING NOW AS THEY WERE 20 YEARS AGO and one of the Best EVER IN THE HISTORY OF HIPHOP.Yeah boy step aside for the flex terminator X.
That's a good point. The Bomb Squad also produced Ice Cube's "Amerikkka's Most Wanted" and I really liked that album because the album's sound was sophisticated and quite busy. There's a lot going on sonic-wise in that album, just as there is in "Fear Of A Black Planet". FOABP is my fav PE album :P
Oh man! You are so right. The old rap acts and r&b groups of the 60's, 70's, & 80's used to have stage presence and experience before they even smelled a record studio. They would jam in the streets of their neighborhoods for years before they got on the concert tour stage. Nowadays, the first thing a new act does is go right to the record studio to cut the track, w/o any stage presence. The rest is manufactured by the record company. That's a damn shame, inexperienced artists fed to the public.
yo, real hip hop was and still soooo powerful. it's so universal. look at all them heads out there in this vid. mad white folks out there. its a beautiful thing.
This is good because it is real art, not the manufactured crud that is force fed to you by the media today. PE had a hard time getting even soul radio stations to play their music because it was considered too controversial. You won't hear lil wayne talk about the US government the way PE does. Todays performers are just that, performers. PE were artists and activists. Also look up BDP, KRS1, NAS for social commentary rap.
Me too, look at my name, lol.. Blasck Sabbath and Ozzy are the best but this kicked serious ass!! Your the 1st person I ever saw with a great open mind!
So are the S1W refusing to go on stage with Flava Flav today? because I heard that that was a major sticking point with Professor Griff and the S1W, Flava's position in the group, and that that sticking point has never faded through the years. Actually, I'm glad that that friction exists: the hottest fire, and all that!
exactly wat i mean they need to have more rap like this, this is real rap rap that had meaning to it besides sexual inuendo, cars, women and all that other dumb shit
@qwandiddy Thank you for speaking for a entire race obviously your not to smart but anyone who speaks for a entire race of people 100% of time is wrong so speak for your self brotha.
Not entirely true. The Blacks that support old school rap are in the 30"s n 40's. Other than that, your point is unfortunately true.
