Where does this Chelsea side rank amongst premier league teams?
Top 3 for sure
2nd because Liverpool can cross nicely but however terry and Carvalho can handle that so it is a tough choice
1
Top 3 defo, only 99 Treble is better imo. Centurions get close but not this Liverpool side or Invincibles.
5.city 2013/14
4.Chelsea 2016/17
3.Chelsea 2004/05&Leicester 2015/16
2. Man utd 2007/08
1. Arsenal 2003/04.
Drogba wasnt prolific so he isnt a top striker is THE dumbest argument in football. His hold up play, link up play and ability to occupy muliple defenders creating space for Lampard and the wingers was astonishing. WHAT a player he was.
BIG GAME PLAYER
@Ishan A why not???? Rooney has the EXACT same goal contribution per game ratio in the premier league as Drogba, and Drogba has a higher ratio in the UCL. So Drogba was better than Rooney. Thanks for coming
As a Barcelona fan I hated him so much, speaks about how fucking good he was, legendary striker
Unfortunately Tom, most "fans" of the sport just reduce players goals and assists. They claim to be all about the stats but only care about those two, and disregard the rest. Drogba was without a doubt one the best.
Not to mention he scored in every final possible
Mourinho is an amazing coach
He is only criticised because a few players donât agree to play on their non favoured positions and is a bit harsh but yet motivating with the media
True
Ashley Cole wasn't a Chelsea player during the 2004/2005 season. I think Gallas was the left-back starter during that season.
Wayne Bridge and Gallas
Neither was essien
Yep no essien or Cole, this robots chatting out his arse
Essien was Chelsea player since 2005/2006
He also keeps referring to Ferreira as 'Perreira.'
Terry and Carvalho made up for one of the greatest defensive duos no doubt
Still overshadowed by Ferdinand and VIDIC lmao
Humble Pelican because of pure popularity
@@benedictjajo Rio & vidic was never good as carvalho & John not only in EPL, look at UCL, Chelsea was most of the time getting semifinals in those times. 15 goals concede in single season, cech most number of cleans in history EPL. Lots of record that chelsea defense.
@@benedictjajo These 2 were better than Terry and Carvalho. They are recognized more because Manchester United won more trophies.
@@shamilrasheed5071 trophies speaks otherwise
Cole wasn't a chelsea player at the time and in the premier league Mourinho prefered GuĂ°johnsen over drogba. Finally Essien was brought in in 2005 after that initial Mourinho season, Tiago Mendes was the other midfielder
Gronjear was on the right.
True via Drogba, in 04-05 he was playing like a standard target man mainly used if a physical presence was needed or to push the line back, Gudjohnsen was better at linking the play in possession. It was the presence of off the shoulder strikers like Crespo & Shevchenko in the team, and the occasional switches to 442/4312 to accommodate them better, that it slowly became clear Drogba had far more potential than being a lump of muscle to intimidate defenses. He was capable of leading the line.
The creation of the Drogba everyone knows & loves (at Chelsea) wasn't apparent immediately, that's a misconception. Could be argued he became a better player after Mourinho left.
Also, Robben wasn't a starter. Cole was preferred over Duff.
You forgot William Gallas. Brilliant versatile defender that could play anywhere across the back 4. Shame he later joined Tottenham!
Ben W thatâs not true at. Robben, particularly in that first season, had a injuries so he didnât play nearly as many games. Robben was definitely first choice
"We play for a result they play for a result. We cannot lose the game. I'm not putting pressure on you that we have to win, I will never put that kind of pressure on you. But we cannot lose... we cannot lose."
Makelele was so crucial, in Chelsea, in Real Madrid, that guy is a legend. One of the all time greats.
Essien only arrived in mourinhos 2nd season.. the midfield trio in the 1st season was makelele, lampard and tiago
Sometimes I wish we can watch these games at an aerial view that isn't switching cameras for TV so we can see these tactics inn full effect. Great Analysis FMS!
Kindly do one of Jupp Heynckes and bayern
Coming soon!
I'd love to see a video about Thomas Tuchel.
In my opinion, this team is the second best team in all of premier league history. They were the best for multiple years and broke so, so many records! Only Pepâs Manchester City is above them in my opinion. The Chelsea from â04 until â06 is the best Chelsea team in history and one of Europeâs elite teams! I donât think you shouldâve included Cole in this tbh, he only joined in 2006.
Don't forget 15 goals conceded
Not invincibles or 2008 man u?
@@andrewthiselton5118 2008 ManU, maybe. But this team wrecked the invincibles
very true
Defensively this was the best team in premier league history. Second best team in history though!? Are you sure? Manchester United 07/08 (Weâre talking prime: Rooney, Ronaldo, Tevez, Scholes, Carrick, Evra, Vidic, Rio) won a league and champions league trophy. Arsenal invincibles 03/04 didnât lose a game all season (Weâre talking Vieira, Henry, Pires, Campbell, Cole, Bergkamp). Iâm not even going to mention united 98/99 treble winners.
Hey Rio, great contents! And shout out to Cesc for sharing such great insights. Delightful to listen to.đđ
I was waiting fpr this video for sooo long. You can fimd about Mourinho Inter, Real Madrod or Porto on youtube but despite being this geart this side usually gets unnoticed. Thak you so much!
Thank you so much for uploading another mourinho's tactics!!
Can't imagine how scary a team will be if Chelsea's 2004-05 defense is combined with Real Madrid's 2011-12 attack.
This was long overdue. I was waiting between you or Nouman to post this.
you are doing a great work , never stop
Do Pochettino Tactics for Spurs 2016/17 Please
Thanks for appreciating Mourinho. Nowadays I see more of his critics than others! He's greatest manager in EPL as he has done wonders with teams at his disposal, be it 2nd place finish with United in 2017 or 3rd place finish with Chelsea in 2013!
That Chelsea team finished 3rd year before,so I wouldn't call that a miracle. A miracle was that he was with that team in a title race until last moments.
Great work man đđ»
This is great!
Btw I would love to learn about Gareth Bale, and why he has had a steady decline
OMG this channel is so good....
Ikr!
His second spell was sensational. A leader. A coach. An Icon.
Hi Thanks for the great video!! could u please make a video analysis of mourinho's chelsea 14/15?? that would be great, Thanks!!đđ
In the 2006/07 season, when Chelsea signed Shevchenko, we used a 4-1-2-1-2 or rather a 4-4-2 diamond shaped midfield. Could you analyse it in a future video possibly.
The Special One!
Hi how are you doing. Can you do a video of The tactics of Thomas Tuchel it would be a good video. Or another idea is Eric Ten hag Ajax tactics. Mourniho is a Very very good Tactician. Wonderful Manger
hasn't he already done Ten Hag?
Ashley Cole was signed for the 2007/08 season
Michaël Essien was signed for the 2005/06 season
neither of those players were even there in 2004/05......
Wayner Bridge, William Gallas or Celestine Babayaro were used at LB with Geremi and Glen Johnson being the backup RB
Tiago and Scott Parker played in midfield with Lamps and Makélélé and as neither could cement their place Mourinho then went on to make the big money signing of Essien from Lyon that following summer
Joe Cole also played a good amount in rotation with Duff and Robben sorta like when we had Hazard, Willian and Pedro in their prime a few years ago
Great video
In terms of tactics I remember one game they were chasing at Spurs (I think) so he just put as many people as he could up front and started hoofing it in to them. They won.
Make a video on the treble winning season of Man U
1998/99
This type of play can fit very well on this seasonâs Chelsea.
especially with Havertz having Lampardâs role.
What a season that was
I still dont know why people criticize mourinho specially now when he is at spurs and fans want him to be sacked and saying he is finished so i want to tell to those fans that have some mind he got best players in chelsea, inter and real but in manutd he got some ok players than too he won them a europa league and with this spurs if he get a trophy like europa league than you fans should wash his feet because this guy is a genius and whichever manager will come he doesn't have good players in spurs team the players are costing mourinho defeats.although i am also a spurs fan
Great analysis
Mourinho for me is top 3 managers of all time. He can turn any team into a winning team and give his players a warrior mentality. The only reason people donât like him is because heâs very vocal and says what he wants. But you canât really blame him because most of the time, heâs right about everything he says. When he speaks, you listen. Thatâs why heâs The Special One
Finally!!!!!!!
ESSIEN wasnât there 2004/2005 season
Carlo Ancelotti AC Milan tactics analysis!! Please, please please!!!!!
FINALLY!
Unfortunately we live in an era where being politically correct and being a ânice guyâ is the only way to gain respect. Thatâs why Mourinho gets so much hate. People donât like that heâs very vocal about what he thinks even though most of the time heâs right. Heâs not scared to call out lazy players in his team or point out their flaws
In the EPL, JosĂ© preferred GuÄjohnsen over Drogba...
Was that team a high pressing team, a mid block team or a low block team? And did they ever use the offside trap like Mourinho's Porto? Thanks
ìąìììì ëë€
Bro can u make a video on mourinho's man utd tactics in 2016-17
It was simple : Concede shots since the players were crap lol.
He made De Gea look good by blocking good shooting lanes.
The team wasnt good enough to press, had no pure wingers and injuries and still finished second
If you compare this mourinho season tactics and lampard tactics this season has many similarities like one of the midfielder would drop and be a double pivot while the other push higher
Thank you
Is it the same when comes 3-4-3 and this 4-1-2-3? I think the fullbacks have the same duty in both formation and the DM has similar duty as central defender in back 3. Any opinion?
The midfielder that played with MakĂ©lĂ©lĂ© and Lampard in 2004/2005 wasnât Essien. Was Tiago or Joe Cole. In that season Essien was in Lyon đ
maybe a player profile on luis alberto?
Hey can you make a tactical profile of south korea in the 2018 wc
Can you do 2012/13 Bayern?
Almost every player on the first team that season are currently legends
Could you make a video on Claudio Ranieriâs Title-winning Leicester
Please do kevan keegan newcastle entertainers next up đ
Essien 2005/2006, in 2004/2005 Tiago played his role
Damien Duff is the first footballer I fell in love with lol
Gourdiola's tactics as City manager video please
Can you do Rinus Michels ?
"Old school" tactics which frankly wouldn't be as effective today. Having 3 men in midfield isn't enough anymore to break lines, teams have better pressing schemes and better zonal principles, even when playing 442. For example, atletico, have no issue stopping 433 teams.
This is all fine and not a criticism of Mou, no tactics work for eternity. The problem with Mourinho is, he has never adapted his idea. He still attempts to roll out these ideas but with less talented players (Man utd and Chelsea) and against opposition who can adjust to this pretty routine way of playing.
Football made slightly complicated | I think you missed out that Chelsea Full Back use to go up allowing crosses into the box | Mourinho parking his bus đ and making his team really compact so that they can counter attack | Thatâs Simple đ |
Please do on Antonio Contes Chelsea
I see you failed to Cover the "Park The Bus" Strategy as well there Football Made Simple LOL
Who the heck is Pereira at RB? đ It's Paulo Ferreira mate
Dude, it's not okay to misspell the perhaps greatest DM ever. It's cool that you corrected it later in the vid, but you really should know this kinda stuff if you expect to be taken seriously xD
I think Mou can use this now since he has all the elements in current Tottenham squad
@ 1:35 supposed to say Terry, not Cech.
Crazy to think there was nearly back to back invincible seasons
What a genius
Please can you do next Ancelotti Ac Milan
Can you make a video of How to fix Borussia Dortmund please
Problem is this tactic requires the two central midfielders to be defensive and physical which is so hard to find those qualities in fast midfield players. Fast midfielders want to attack, not defend. The game has revolved to be much more faster, itâs harder to contain the press, with fullbacks attacking more and wingers cutting in. Thatâs why mou has problems with his midfielders not tracking back, they just get tired quick cos they doing a lot of running around.

Ovo je uzor kako treba igrati momcad na rezultat'Murinjo genije 'hvala Bogu sto postojite!@
Its speculated that morinho's Chelsea inadvertently led to Manchester United dominating in league and Europe as they picked 433
Lol hahahaha...... I was hearing Essien and Ashley Cole in this analysis. Please it wasn't both of them because at the time they where not signed by Chelsea back then. In place of Essien it was Alexi Smertin and in place of Ashley it was William Gallas. Please note the errors. Thank you.
@01:15 "However, having the ball at his feet was not his strength." (referring to Cech); @01:36 "Both Cech and Carvalho were fairly comfortable on the ball."
Comments: ....contradiction much?(!)
@01:57 "The ball could go wide to Cole or "Perreira"
Comments: !? - it's Paulo Ferreira
How can Lampard line up Chelse with Ziyech,Werner?
Ashley Cole wasnât at Chelsea during the 04/05 season
â€ïž
This side was much better than Arsenals "Invincibles" IMO. Mourinho damn near one-upped everything they had achieved the previous year, broke so many then league records at the time in attack and defense (Most of them now held by Man City in 17/18), may have lost ONCE but won three more than Arsenal did that year, and went much further in Europe.
Although he wont admit it but Sir Alex was quick to shift formations from a flat 4-4-2 to a 4-3-3 after Mourinho came to the English game
Sir Alex still played a 4-4-2 what made Sir Alex different and better than 98% of the managers was when United goes on the attack the formation shifts to a 4-3-3
Cole was at arsenal, Gallas was the left back.
Essien was at lyon... Tiago was the one at chelsea

The Special One Is Always Blue
Best pl side of all time
Still remember, my uncle and father (gunners) being extremely racist toward russian just for Chelsea
The Best Premier League Team for me
I wish I could replicate this on Fifa
First
Second spell please
Makelele made this formation work
During Mourinhoâs time Chelsea had joe cole not Ashley cole
capello's milan 1994 !
What do you think this Chelsea against the mighty Milan of the same years?
sir alex ferguson is the greatest manager of all time. but jose is surely a special one.
Mourinho on of the best, he forced Ferguson to use a 4-3-3 when he left
No he didn't lol. Maybe Sir Alex switched to a 4-3-3 during Mourinho's second season and that was only recommended through Carlos Quiroz. By the time of 2006-07 Sir Alex went back to the 4-4-2 and when United attacks it alternate to a 4-3-3
The last time I was this early, mourinho was still parking the bus at Chelsea
Not funny
I'm sure I told you I was comedian
Please make sure you know the players' names. Paulo Ferreira and not "Pereira"
