Heck Yeah, I love bringing this movie up with friends, cause almost no gen z-er knows about these films. They are so weird and cheesy and that's probably why I like them so much. Not my favorite films by any means, but still a wacky, gory, fun time.

Just rewatched the first "Friday the 13th" killcount. They have really grown in a big way from those times. It really was just a quick summary of the plot and the kills, which pales in comparison to the more recent ones where we're bombarded with tons of interesting facts and anecdotes about their production that give so much life to these new videos.
I love puppet master. I remember watching it as a kid. I found the first five movies a collection set at Walmart. I scooped it up quickly

I remember seeing some of these on tv as a kid. Even back then, I appreciated that it seemed to be practical effects for the puppets, especially since it wouldn't be too long before the cgi boon making a lot of honestly weaker looking movies.

These movies got so absurd so fast, and it's honestly a bit jarring how slow this one is by comparison. But I still think it's a great time, and a great start to this insane series. The puppetry and stop motion is especially impressive.
This inspired me to watch these, currently on the third one, would love for you to keep covering them.

You don’t know how much we’ve wanted this since the demonic toys kill count. Highly underrated franchise, you gotta love how weird and quirky the puppet designs are.
Puppets are by far my favorite type of creepy creature in horror. Haunted dolls, evil puppets, and/or an evil villain puppeteering his victims (literally or psychologically) just reign supreme as irredeemable big bads that I love.

Never expected to see something so great here as a Kill Count. It’s such a masterpiece along with the rest of the franchise. Plus, Blade is my favorite character. He and his allies can be seen as either heroes or villains.

Four year to be exact. The last time he covered a Full Moon movie was Evil Bong all the way back in 2020.
@DeadMeat I've been begging you for 6 years for a puppet master kill count, when the recounts started coming out I lost faith but now we will get them and I have never been happier
I used to work in a video store back when Full Moon was starting up. They'd send out screener copies of all their new movies to the stores, so I got to see all of them, even the ones the store didn't end up carrying. It was great!
Hell yeah! FINALLY! Puppet Master!!!!!! I owned almost all of them on VHS, it was an incredible series to watch, and honestly, most of the dolls are pretty awesome, especially Blade, which is hands down, the coolest one.
Just a point about the special effects, the first Child's Play had over 15x the budget that the first Puppet Master had. I think the effects, especially 2-5, are actually solid when you take the budget into account
It probably helps none of the puppets need to talk or emote(aside from jester), so they just needed to focus on movement and not trying to make them talk convincingly like chucky
I'm honestly loving how much they're going into the numbers and just adding that additional statistical look at other movies that compare counts and spreads on kills.
Little fun fact, Charlie Band's son is Alex Band, the frontman of The Calling, the one hit wonder band that played "Wherever you will go"

Puppetmaster was also one of my first horror movies as a kid. Here in Brazil, you'd watch it on many afternoon sessions through the years - mostly, around 3pm on a specific TV channel. Since then, I love the idea of cursed puppets and toys and really hope to see more of them after recent successes like M3gan

I will definitely encourage you to cover the whole series. There's something fun about going through an entire long series of films... it's like a rollercoaster, there's highs, there's lows, there's tepid little flat parts, and that's kinda the fun. You can enjoy the good and snark the bad.

Duuuuuddde this brought back major childhood nostalgia/trauma. I used to be scared of puppets as a kid and my half sister thought it'd be funny to put this on for me and my neices and nephew and it scared the shit out of me for the longest time. These days I respect Full Moon for blowing up like they did because of these movies. I hope James covers the rest of the franchise!

This franchise holds a special place in my heart. It's probably nostalgia driving me, but I can sit down and watch most of the movies revolving around Toulon's creations anytime. And the theme is just SO GOOD!
Oh I am absolutely imterested in continuing the franchise. I've been waiting for so long. Puppet Master is one of my favorite series since my grandmother introduced me to them when I was little.

I was 7 and bought a disk set of all of them at the dollar store for like 20 bucks because I thought blade looked cool and went home and watched every last one over the next 4 days and was hooked on everything horror after that!
Puppet Masters and older horror movies will always remind me of my grandma, she was a big horror movie fan and as a kid we would watch them together, I'll still never forget she was so excited to see Freddy vs Jason with us and a few days before its video rental release she passed away but her memory and love of horror movies lives on thru us and every time I watch classics I think of all the good times we shared

Sooo a silly fact. Travis in Puppet Master: The Littlest Reich’s actor, Cam Rostami(also known as SuperBlood or TX2’S guitarist. He’s one of my idols and favorite artists), I actually met April 2nd! He was so kind and sweet and we had such a wonderful conversation. I just found out he was in a puppet master movie 😭
