    Couldn't agree more! I LOVE Cordoba. I lived all over Andalucia, and it is by far my favorite city. Here I was starting to feel guilty that I don't like Seville as much, and you have validated my feelings.

    This is a great video and thanks for your pointers. The Mosque-Cathedral is fascinating as well as the Viana Palace. I’m planning to go back there because we haven’t able to visit the Alcazar in Cordoba. This video will be of great help to new travelers. Keep it up 👍

    woltersworld "1000 years ago, Cordoba was one of the largest cities in Europe" - more than that, it was the largest city in the world. It's population peaked at over 1 million during the 11th century, considerably larger than both Constantinople and Baghdad. Just thought you should know!

    • @pawelpap9
      @pawelpap9 Před 9 lety

      MrTooboredtocare I wonder where you got the number from. I have serious doubts city of this size could sustain itself at that time. More to the point, a more realistic number of 450,000 is given here: geography.about.com/library/weekly/aa011201c.htm

    • @khalitooi
      @khalitooi Před 8 lety

      +MrTooboredtocare bagdad was the the largest city in the world with population 3 million , Cordoba was the second largest with population 1 milion

    • @pawelpap9
      @pawelpap9 Před 8 lety

      +mohamad matar Wow, 3 million! Why not 30? A more realistic figure for Baghdad in XIc is 120,000.

    • @khalitooi
      @khalitooi Před 8 lety

      Baghdad was big international city,People spoke Aramaic, Arabic and Persian. Many different groups of people lived there Arabs, Persians, Jews, and Greeks. Many different gods were worshipped: there were Christians, Jews, and Zoroastrians.The population of Bagdad Community at that time was 3 million , bagdad itself around 800 thousand. By the way cordoba population now around 320 thousand !

    Is Cordoba safe to visit alone?

  • @nicolasrodriguez-cc3ez

    Los españoles cuidamos y conservamos nuestro patrimonio cultural ibero, romano, judio, islámico y cristiano.La Alhambra de Granada fue protegida del saqueo y destrucción del ejército francés en época de Napoleón. Lástima que la Biblioteca de Córdoba fue incendiada, destruida por los almohades con 40000libros únicos y comparada en su época con la Biblioteca de Alejandria. Saludos

      Qurtuba is NOT the original name. It's a translation of Cordoba in Arabic.
