About The Boys: THE BOYS is an irreverent take on what happens when superheroes, who are as popular as celebrities, as influential as politicians and as revered as Gods, abuse their superpowers rather than use them for good. It's the powerless against the super powerful as The Boys embark on a heroic quest to expose the truth about “The Seven,” and their formidable Vought backing.

Would be hilarious if homelander just points to the sign he wrote him about killing soldier boy
He's a perfect listener, 😉.
The innocence of his imaginary friends made me feel more sad. And the fact that black noir had only them.
He was abised as a kid
I cried like a baby when the imaginary friends showed up and said goodbye to him
Is that why they showed you I haven't watched new seasons
I can strangely relate that. The best relationships I've ever had are the ones that only exist in my mind.
Why must the greatest happiness's in life always be right in front of our eyes, yet still so intangible?
Ok now I understand why these cartoons pop up in call of duty
To this day I still refuse to believe they did all of that plot for him to die in a single blow.
Season 4 set photos show him there. Either someone else under the mask to not cause panic or he just dont die and they brought him back

He survived getting his head split open and brain getting damaged. I dont think a gut punch can kill him.
@@eemmjay8728 there was a new hero in the set photos as well so no probably not
This one hit me way too hard. They gave him depth and you really saw who he was in S3. It made you sympathize with Noir and it showed he was just a scared, lonely man. All the scenes with his imaginary friends broke me. Especially after he died and them crying man I was balling with them. He won my heart in the end and this death was the saddest one of the series
It also hit Black Noir way too hard.

@@blurgle9185 and homelander is better? ofcourse there's going to be collateral damage for any of them, also black noir had half of his face burned and then got part of his brains bashed out that's why he sees the cartoons

The symbolism as his imaginary character slowly backing away from the lens as the life escapes Black Noir's eyes is so incredibly well done, I didnt realize how hard it hit till I rewatched it.
What’s the symbolism?
Him slowly dying
Something fading away as a character dies and fades away. So amazing I've never seen this done before.
Why do these comment threads always have someone heaping some emotional narrative onto something like this? "Yeah I just realised how hard it hits watching it back...the bit where he dies, where he's all like...dead and stuff....woah dude, much symbolic"
@@joekerins9772 why do these comments always have some rude arrogant person that hates when people share thier opinions online
I think what tipped off Homelander is the fact that Noir didn’t seem shocked at all by the revelation that Soldier Boy was his father.
Noir is mute and unexpressive lmao.
@@melbournemeliodas215
Yeah, but Homelander can see Noir’s face lol. He even says he can tell what emotions Noir’s feeling, unlike everyone else.
Noir could've easily wrote a note saying
"I didn't tell you because he's a bad person and his chest blast thing could hurt you, just trying to protect you"
"Also, these scars came from him"
He litarally nodded when homelander asked "did you know?"
@@onatsakall6918

No way Noir would have died that quickly, he would probably have known the homelands would have been gunning for him
Homelander literally took his heart out
I don't think noir would've fought against homelander, at the very least he would be so taken a back that home lander would kill him in that couple second delay
If Black Nori is dead then who is going to kill Homelander at the end? At the end of the comic Homelander was killed by Black Nori, well he was left badly injured, very badly, his guts were open, he was bleeding and half of his face was missing and then he died
@@Nameless82284 In the comics, Soldier Boy was a little piss boy who was literally killed in just one panel, but in the show, he's a fucking force to be reckoned with.

@@ember2933 Good point. The same thing happened with Black Nori, in the comic he's a clone of Homelander. But still, who's going to kill Homelander at the end?

What I like about this scene is that Homelander actually considers not killing him, which make's it sadder
I mean he was one of the few people he consider an actual friend. That is why i really like that animated episode were they show their first mission togheter and explain a lot about Homelander as a character.
@@AlanJ1993 Good take
He definitely did hesitate but homelander is about consistency so he had to
I really liked how Black Noir was seemingly Homelanders ride or die when everyone else was turning on him. It sucks losing this dynamic and character but maybe the new Noir will be badass as well
Maybe the new Noir will be the real one from the Comic…🦅🇺🇸🤪
@@EASY7356 tbh Ryan fits the role better and the twist would be divisive even it was done well so doubtful
@@EASY7356 there is no way they are doing that, Its impact has been completely negated. Because that plotline only worked in the books due how the story was set up. This is one of the very few times that I felt some form of sympathy toward Homelander. He felt that he needed to kill Black Noir for betraying him but you can tell it was a rare moment where it really hurt him to do so.
I felt it was a combination of that and how black noir keeps saying “kill.”
Like homelander is laying out his heart out about his revelation of having a father and here black noir is just telling him, “BAD” and “must kill” Instead of listening. After all who wants to hear their father is evil.
Totally agree...you could see he almost had a change of heart before killing him but in his twisted mind it had to be done. Such a great actor

I know Diabolical already covered the begginings of this friendship, but personally I'd love to see more of their past in live action. They could totally do a prequel mini series about the days of The Seven before even being The Seven or something.

I have a feeling Vought's going to bring back Black Noir, but he'll be even more of a mindless drone than was before. They spent a lot of time developing Noir this season and introducing his little vision friends and shit. I wouldn't be surprised if we get some POV of Black Noir while he's doing some gruesome fucked up shit in service to the powers at be, all while in his minds eye, he's following the directions of his cartoon friends and blissfully unaware of what reality is going on around him.
They confirmed the name black noir is coming back but the person underneath the mask is new. Hopefully they bring the original back because it would be kinda dumb for them to build all this up for him and the mf just dies
That's if they injected him with a Special type of V to bring him back, like in the comics another Supe came back to life.
I think they just wanted to give him some background so it would hit harder when he died.
He’s returning for season four yes he will be back albeit a different person under the mask. Same character same role but different identity. This version of noir may just be the homelander clone that was the twist in the comics as to who black noir truly was.
I'm still pissed they killed Black Noir. They built up this rivalry with Soldier Boy the entire season and we don't get to see them fight!? I'm getting a little tired of people "subverting expectations"
Black Noir already almost died with the Team against soldier boy so Alone hes Not a challenge for him
What rivalry? Noir was clearly terrified of him and in the cartoon flashbacks we have seen how hopelessly outmatched he was against Soldier Boy. Homelander was his only bet.
So you're tired of shows that do things their own way instead of serving up exactly what you want every time? Then stop watching good shows and go back to kids' cartoons
@@thesprawl2361 You think a show "doing things their own way" makes it good? Watch Mindy Kaling's "Velma" and let me know how that worked out for them. Hell, GOT did things their own way in the last two seasons, did that make it a good show for you as well? No, I want shows that deliver a complete and satisfying character's arc. What they did with Black Noir was anything but that. Was it unexpected? Sure, but that doesn't make it good.
@@BLooDCoMPleX What rivalry? The rivalry they spent the entire 3rd season building up. Noir being "clearly terrified" and "hopelessly outmatched" doesn't mean there isn't a rivalry. On the contrary, it signifies a heavy animosity, something which is essential to building a rivalry.
"Soon you will be in the sweet embrace of Christ the Lord" Wow that had me in tears. I'm glad Noir got a happy ending. He didn't lie before his death and knew he would meet his creator. Such a beautiful scene and this who series is a rollercoaster of emotions.

Guys it's ok, if you look at the thumbnail and don't watch the video you can imagine that Homelander and Black Noir are just hugging.
This is one of those scenes where it really emphasizes just how scary Homelander is. I know what's gonna happen, I've seen this 100 times but once the music starts playing at 2:00 and he goes around Noir, cornering him, you realize dude is just a live wire at all times. He will start a conversation so calm, even warm, but over a minute or 2, he slowly just becomes scarier and scarier and you're just like "what is he about to do..." Especially in this scene because this is your ally. Soldier Boy is here to kill you, and he simply cannot take Homelander vs Noir, I don't even think The Boys all together could have taken them both at once, but instead he fucking punches his own ally through his fucking gut on a whim. Then you think of it from Noir's angle, cause you know he's standing there thinking, "do I engage and attack him first? This is my ally? Can I even beat him? What is he about to do? Why is he asking these questions?" On top of thinking about how he is gonna kill Soldier Boy. No joke I've never been one to be afraid of a character in a movie... But Homelander puts fear into my heart like no character has ever put fear into my heart. He's all powerful and liable to do literally anything on a whim because there either ISNT any consequences, or he doesn't THINK there's consequences. He's all powerful and free to do whatever he wants at any moment.
What gets me is that Black Noir must’ve been thinking he’s a failure as he was dying. Not only did he not get a chance to take out Soldier Boy, but he was killed in one shot by Soldier Boy’s son because he didn’t tell Homelander who Soldier Boy was. But then, that soft music starts playing, and that little beaver says, “Don’t worry, Erving. We are so proud of you.” I like to think that gave Black Noir some peace as he died, knowing he had been one of the few actually good guys, and that he should be proud of himself.
