God I love his acting here. He really got the "Not this time, I won't explode THIS time" vibe going. It really felt like Homelander was constantly trying to just stay cool, as if it were a real challenge.
Its crazy because at first you hate all of the 7, but as Homelander becomes more mentally unstable, you start worrying for Black Noir, The Deep, Maive, Starlight, and A-Train. Even though we still dislike some of them.

If he was truly afraid of the man, that makes Homelander truly brave as he conquered that fear and confronted it. Pick your choice - he wasn't afraid or he was afraid and brave.
