That is a level of trust in your bike, your tires, and your reflexes that I think most of us will have to work on. Thank you for the outline and reminder to relax and coast - now to practice and implement. Cheers.
Yeah brand new knobbies help tremendously in mucky conditions.
With all these instructional videos, there's only so much you can learn off the internet. The real learning comes when transferring theory into practice, as you've outlined.
It's nice when people get it. Good on you mate
@@MotologyFilms time in the seat in all conditions sort of teaches these too..if you can recognize some of those holycrap moments that you make it through.. you're bang on point as usual, cheers!

@@MotologyFilmshello Adam.
Dave spr.nk here, good job
waiting for warhorse adventure series adam
right?!? fuck man cant wait
Moar riding tips tbh, these sorts of tips cost people lots of money and he's out here dumping em off for free!
From someone who rides in and around Vancouver, this is relevant to me lol. Awesome series Adam, thanks for doing all this. I think I learn more from 1 of your videos than 5 from anyone else.
having grown up riding in PNW in Oregon- riding in rain and mud is a basic skill you have to learn- mud is the most fun riding there is!
You're having way too much fun making this very instructional video!
A big thumbs up for your clear and precise instruction. The rolling-coasting-doing nothing is very noticable on my heavy enduro bike (Transalp 600 PD06), its sheer weight pushes through mud like an oil cruiser. This riding technique helps me termendously. I' not too fond of mud, but learning step by step. All the best from a super hot Nürnberg/Germany summer, Günter
My skill is to fall in the deepest water hole at the beginning of a long day/weekend of riding :P I love wet pine single track. You can slide in and out of every corner. its a constant fight with the front wheel but heaps of fun.
Again, having the suspension set up properly compliments the good technique you’re showing 👍
Looking forward to the Hill technique vid 🤗
Again, having the *skill*properly compliments his techniques and moves on the bike.
One of the best channels on YT. Thanks for your efforts Adam.
Slow in, fast out….The Fundamentals of racing…Fullstop 👌🏻💪🏻❤️
Just a quick comment: I found myself rewinding a lot, first time through I’d pay attention to what you were saying and the next couple times I’d listen to figure out exactly what you were doing with the throttle. Could be worth it in similar future vids to repeat the more technical scenes a couple times. One with commentary, one without or one in slomo

Wet wood is the scary for me as we have it a lot in finland. I wish we go to see more of that.
Pretty certain you just changed the game for a bunch of riders mate nice job
Mayhem kicking in 👍
Absolutely love your riding tutorial videos. Thanks for sharing the knowledge :)
That's all so next level, just appreciate your skill and fearlessness! I'm not sure how much of this I can onboard, but I will try fighting the instinct to lightly apply the brakes in slick corners and instead let it ride! Yikes!!
As always, incredible. Thanks and please keep them coming 🙏
Beautiful video, I've been hoping for a dirtbike series for a while, thanks for the tips Adam keep them coming please🤘
Thank ya Adam!
I so appreciate you sharing your knowledge.
I have a ‘22 te300i (“dirt knife”) and recently added the Norden 901 Expedition so all this is incredibly valuable to me.
Many thanks!
Be safe and ride on! 🏍️💨💪🏽
Really enjoyed it Adam. Thank you.
Awesome Adam, another great tutorial! Cheers
Thanks for the instructional video! I commented the other day the arctic circle video that a tutorial for riding in mud and noticed that you liked it. I really appreciate you taking the time to offer some tips for riding wet conditions offroad!
Great content as usual Adam. Please keep the instructional videos coming.
Terrific. Can´t wait to test this. Thanks a lot for these lessons, they help a lot.
Thanks for the vid man! You have helped me a lot with riding bikes!
Really a ☝very high level rider...
Hell yeah keep em coming A!
Amazing video. Cant wait for the next one.
Just found your channel and these videos are great. Thanks!
Looking forward to the next one! Bring it!
Thanks good info, will be thinking about these things more when next I am riding... 👊😎
Absolutely fantastic stuff, it’s exactly the same on the road. Knowing when to do absolutely nothing, Gold!
You have such great content for learning.
Thanks Adam!
You're the man Adam! Great vid :)
Super 🤙🏻…… on the 1290r and about to get a 300 xc-w , Adam now you telling me that’s a good thing 😂🍻 happiness man
Love it brother🤙🏼
Great video as usual! Cheers from Brasil!
Thanks for these videos! I was out practicing Friday some stuff from your last video on my FC250. Had a blast but went down twice. Leaves all over the trail I actually fishtailed back and forth 3 times as I was going around a curve before going down the first time. So much fun! I know what I did wrong watching this video: I didn't weight the outside peg. Keep these up, I want to get better!
Loved this video, looking forward to more how to videos
Hi Adam, thanks for another great video. I reckon the time has come to add a smaller bike to my stable to be able to practice, practice, practice. 🇦🇺
This skill saved my life many years ago, on the road over a huge diesel leak.
Great tips!
Another great video. I've had a real problem with being able to relax do nothing in schetchy corners. In washing state in the US gravel on dirt roads is the rule, usually to fill ruts. Never know how deep it is. At 70 even though I've ridden all my life, I tend to stiffen up and bad things happen. Too many times of near crashes going too fast. Then a very tight corner, some times filled with pot holes too. Your place to ride is so nice. Nothing like it here.
Cruising around your rural paddock and getting sponsored to do so! Living the dream.
Some good advice, but hard to see anything when you are wearing those bright whites haha.
Enjoy life you lucky bugger. I see a certain property between Karuah and Port Macquarie with sweet sweeping tracks. I reckon i know where these videos are born :)
Actually i use the same technique even on the road: set the speed before the corner in the right gear, just a little trailing throttle, DO NOTHING and just back on the gas when leaving the corner. It just feels right, it's smooth and seems to be the best way to get good traction. 👏 Excellent videos, as always. Usually i'm too lazy to give thumbs up, but not with your videos. Please keep them coming. ;-)
Awesome bro great vid
Looking forward to it 👍
Will take some time until I'll be able to try it out, we're in the opposite season here in Canada. Though I'd say it's not less slippery - many trails are covered with deep moon dust 😂
Ditto! One week dry the next soup fest summertime in Canada!
Cheers from Canada, East coast rider here, N.S. rock and puddles, when we're not on fire.
Great video and informative. Need to learn to trust my bike more then combine that with the skills you presented. Practice practice, practice, patience and more practice.
Thanks you legend. Cheers
Good tips.
I was doing it ok all along 👍
Back off and coast 😎
Life saving tips. 💪🏻
Another good one.
Where was that two months ago before I high sided my 501 on a flat clay slow right!!! Resulted in a grade 4 tear to the AC joint (Shoulder) at least I still have two more moths recovery to watch and learn from you videos!! 😂
As always, there is something to learn from your videos Adam looking forward to the hill climbing
Thanks
Dave
You're welcome Dave. The difficult part with these is trying to translate for both beginner and expert, in one video.
Mate you just show the skills which you do so well and I think people then adapt to their skill level is the easiest way
Thanks
Dave
Gold thanks for that AR....choice
Wow nice!
Bloody nice riding technic 👍👍
Probably my favorite guy to learn from
We need more videos with this terrain
brill thanks 🙂
that's good question
So awesome to see you back on a proper dirt bike now how about a trip to your hard enduro area
Your winter tracks looks like our summer tracks here in the Otways lol
Rut took me down first time off roading on a klx300 once I heal up I’m gonna go back. Got some real off roading boots now.
Good video and a good bike to demo on. Ive recently moved upto a 2023 CRF 450R which has less engine braking than the previous model, sometimes i think its a good think other times im not sure
Yesterday i was thinking when would ypu put this Kimd of video...i was on grawel with my kle yesterday 🎉🎉
Mate, rad video. Those still shots are really good too!
I might have missed it, but what does weighting the outside peg do if you're pushing the weight back down into the corner with your hips/arms? Rigidity?
Looking forward to the next one.
It helps the rear tyre keep traction / drive when you're accelerating hard
Nice 👍
As well as shutting the throttle, would you also pull in the clutch?
Excellent content, also pleasing that you pronounce 'chassis' correctly.
That was awesome, but I have a question: When you say "coast" or "do nothing", what are you doing with the clutch?
was wondering the same thing!
He’s doing nothing with it, as he mentioned. But what you have to do if on a big 4 stroker is to give minimum throttle just to even out the engine braking. As he also told you hehe. You’ll want be in the center of acceleration and retardation graph. Just maintaining speed.
@@kallleankka Mate, I suspect you’re right about him not using the clutch but at no point does he mention the clutch …not once
@@cooganbeggs4942might be because the only time you use the clutch is when standing still imo🤪 and when in trail scenarios ofc. Anyway. What’s that you wondering about the clutch? I’m not sure what you mean when/where you think he should have used it? Specialy when you want to be smooth sailing through a turn, using the clutch midcorner will upset the balance of the bike.
@@kallleankka I’m not disagreeing with you. I also pretty much only use the clutch to get started and then prefer to not touch it. I think the original question is legit though, particularly in an instructional video about wet conditions. When someone mentions coasting its good to know if they are pulling in the clutch and coasting or just literally….coasting. When you look at guys like Tomac and Barcia they are basically full throttle pinned the whole time and controlling the traction with the clutch. Other guys barely touch it - it seems to be personal preference
Nice to get a master class in finding traction when it's greasy.
Thanks Adam, There's always that ah oh factor when riding a trail and i come into a wet part. what do i do if the terrain is not flat? like on the side of a mountain. I hit a piece such as this and my front wheel just slid out from under me and my body kept going straight. i broke a rib on that one. love the how to stuff. cheers
Winter is coming!
The most amazing thing about this video is how green your place is!! Did you get a bit of rain mate?
Yep, full blown winter now
winter in Australia and Finland are little bit different 😇
Perth winter is a Finish summer.
Looking forward to the next one. Are you gonna do an adventure bike version?
can you please please do a video on relaxing the chassis - in a bit more detail !
Adam . Great video , what about handlebar setup when standing?
I stand a lot
You had fun with the TE with outstanding tires. Now show me how to do it with a Norden 901! Plz 😊
Thanks again for this one. I'm new to offroad riding and appreciate all the content you make trying to teach us through CZcams.
Would you say if the engine breaking is configurable, to always have it set to the lowest level ?
Thanks
Thomas
Yes Thomas, if you can lessen the effect of Engine breaking with the electronics, then I would do so.
Dude, please race the RIMBA RAID in Malaysia at the end of August with us. We going up from Brisbane.
Great video. That coasting on slippery terrain, should be clutch in or clutch out?
Awesome stuff !! It sure has been wet.
Do you have any tips on how to avoid tucking the front wheel? I have a lot of issues with that.
Ripping a 300 2 stroke enduro weapon, riding “a little dirt bike” he says. Love it.
When you say to just roll should i pull the clutch also no engine break ?
Need to see some more CR action.. maybe more races again..🤙🤙
Finally I find an off-road technique I am good at: "do nothing" :D
The heritage look suits you mate lol 👍
What are your thoughts of putting out the inside leg if riding something like a 890 Adv or other 500ish # adv bike?
its crazy how much of a terrain unfolds in your backyard. People in Germany need to pay serious money to end up on tracks like this (mostly due to natural environment restrictions)
When you do nothing in the corner, do you pull the clutch lever so that the momentum is still there or you just let the rpm goes down and decelerate?
I love your videos so so much. But I can’t help but think about the scene from “forgetting sara Marshall” when Paul Rudd is trying to coach him to surf. “No bro. Do less, you’re trying to hard. Do less.”
Been been waiting for an episode like this! I take it your doing nothing with the clutch?
When you say “rolling” and “coasting” do you mean the same thing? And Is that with clutch in?
I want to know what tyres you have on the Husky! They seemed awesome!
They are whatever is standard but I prefer Pirelli Scorpion MX mid-soft
I shoulda watched this before I done my MCL in the slop down in dwellingup 🤣
We want to see the Warhorse 😁
