  • Filipinos were colonized and pacified by foreign overlords; mainly by the Spaniards and Americans, so Filipinos were and became subjects of oppression and repression.
One of the effects of foreign oppression and repression: People tend to obey their foreign masters like dogs.
It's one of the reasons why majority of Filipinos were and are friendly toward foreigners.
Majority of Filipinos are friendly to foreigners but not to their fellow Filipinos.
In fact, many Filipinos are hostile toward their fellow Filipinos who are socially and economically inferior to them.
If you will study the Philippine academic history thoroughly, you will learn that there were many Filipinos who betrayed and stabbed the backs of their fellow Filipinos for their own personal sake.
Unfortunately, stabbing of the backs and betrayal still do happen even nowadays.
In the Philippine/Filipino society: Crab mentality, insecurity and jealousy are extremely high.
Who to blame? The Spaniards and Americans brought crab mentality to the Philippines, so they can easily subdue and divide the Filipino population.
Foreigners who come to the Philippines do not understand how racist Filipinos are toward their fellow Filipinos.
Skin color is a big societal thing in the Philippines and the foreigners have no clue at all.
Filipinos with fairer skin have all the advantages; job opportunities, beauty contests and acceptance to the societal norms.
I'm not saying all, but many Filipinos are hostile to their fellow Filipinos who do not belong to their inner circles.
Crime and violence rates are extremely high in the Philippines.
Gossips and hearsay are part of Filipino/Philippine culture.
They will judge your whole personality and character based on gossips/hearsay, regardless of whether if it's true or not.

exactly...because there are many fellow Filipinos who are selfish. They are full of diamonds, money, and a lot of property, but how do they care for the poor, especially those with positions and connections to the government. My testimony is my kabarangay who is an engineer, he works at the city hall in the province and his car's are beautiful, one worth 2 million and aside from that he has 5 hectares of rice fields. He is the owner of a coop in the barangay and his house is beautiful. So it's up to you to judge, it just hurts because he doesn't have a pure heart and isn't friendly. Nor does he help his relative who has nothing. Mostly the rich are selfish and only a few are left to be helpful.

Oh... this is the usual class envy. Those who have risen will often turn up their noses at the poor. This is the case in many countries.
Similarly, we residents of the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe know that it is better not to deal with compatriots abroad, because there will be meanness from them. The same crabs.
Everywhere there are 10% of excellent people, 10% of sociopaths, 80% of the human mass of ordinary people.
Different cultures? I don't think American culture is friendly because of these on-duty phrases, empty conversations about nothing and fake smiles, because sincerity and directness are appreciated in my culture. Focusing on money, as if everything can be bought and sold.
My not poor friends, ardent fans moved to the USA to California and then, being honest with themselves, returned back, because they wanted the best for their children, and the USA turned out to be a country not for life.. But someone will like this way of life.
But even through your videos, I saw a lot, for which the Filipino people will respect and I will learn.
There are no prophets in their homeland. The grass is always greener at the neighbor's.
I understand that when it's always warm, it's easier to fall on a hammock and drink.
I understand that tiktok and insta got to the Filipino youth with a false cover of a rich life. Someday there will be a strong hangover and shame from this capitalist competition.

Being friendly or unfriendly has nothing to do with the color of your skin, it had to do with nurturing, how they are raised and the character of the person. Some Americans are not so friendly either based on my experience.

The “overlords” you refer to as Spaniard and American were in fact in common in a much deeper way that continues their grip on the world as it’s all they know to do. It’s time we call out the true perpetrators of discrimination, the very ones that created all the programs of separation.
