I love how she has never dodged the note at 2:05. Every single performance of this song, she always goes for it no matter her vocal condition.
I haven't seen a non Christmas or national tv Mariah performance reach over 500k views in years. I'm glad this performance is getting recognition bc she sings this song with so much beauty and conviction

She is no where near as good as she was in the 1990's and this is still amazing. How anyone can say she can't sing, is beyond me. After 30 plus years she can still wipe the floor with any artist out there today.

@@tommybrown509 Adele can sing but that's all she can do, she's not a vocalist, she doesn't transition between registers with as much ease, her range is more limited, and she doesn't do any vocal distortion. She's a great belter though!

@@butterflyera she’s always lowered the key for concerts. Especially if she’s singing multiple times a week because she can’t go on full vocal rest like she’s supposed to after performing a show.

@@butterflyera with “I’ll be there” she does usually sing it in it’s recorded key but she’ll change notes up. If you look at the way she did it for “MTV unplugged” and then on her “Fantasy: Live” she changed the key on several parts. However, most of her songs are usually lowered to sustain singing for over an hour multiple times a week. I’ve seen her live and can say she still has her “Honey Era” maybe even “Fantasy Era” voice if she’s not wearing a corset or spanx. Her breath control in them is basically nonexistent and breath control is a major component of her voice and range.
Her tone sounds so bright and rested, I dare to say this will be a a better era even more than Caution 😭❤
