To have Rosemary essential oil you MUST use the flower exclusively. Here the results is good to perfume a room but not medicine.

Large batches like this make me think this is not very efficient on amount of yield you would get.

@@albrigiluigi4941 thanks for the quick response! My question was: why don't you grind the lavender before extracting? It would expose more surface area and allow you to add at least 2 x more to the drum. In effect quadrupling your yield for fuel burnt. Make sense?

It's being distilled later anyway, so none of that bacteria is going to survive.
